Hi Guys.

Can someone please guide when is it the best time to visit Rio / Sau Paulo with a mongering perspective. Preferring to travel during the new year which is the last week of Dec and first week of Jan.

Though mongering is priority tourism and related activities are also on the cards. Seniors please guide.

Just like to know if I'm traveling with the old passport with valid visa and new passport. Is there any issues on arrival at the immigration. Any of you guys have the same experience. Please let me know.

Been there done that several times. No problems at all. At least not in the last 19 years. But Brasil is Brasil and they may have changed since the World Cup and Olympics.

Can anyone please shed some light on the visa waiver British passport holders have. I stayed in Brazil for 109 days (entry stamp was in late February, exit stamp early June). Since you're allowed just 90 days at the beginning it was extended to a date in late June at a policia federal extrangeiros building. Since I left in early June I didn't not use the whole extension as as I mentioned I stayed a total of 109 days out of a possible 180 in a year. But since it was extended can I return at all this year? Would I receive 71 days or would it be less than that and based on the extension's expiry date. I've tried calling the embassy with no luck, the consulate's number in london just doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll add a different pic of a woman I met at that pick up bar by the hotel for inspiration. Very long report in Manaus Brazil will be finished soon, seems a very underestimated place.

When you plan to go to Brazil?

You can come back and use your other days or you can wait till early December and use another six months. , you went to Brazil late February so if you go to Brazil early December after 71 days it is late February so automatically you can stay 19 additional days and then you can ask another three months because your last arrival date (late February), also you stayed six months outside Brazil.

Conclusion: come now and use your remaining days or wait till early December to have 90 days and 90 day extension (180 days) you have 180 days per year the first arrival date is important so you can use your days in many times.

On my way to and from Amazonas for work, I made some stops in Rio. First visit was not much more than 24 hours and I made the most of it. On a Monday afternoon about 5 PM went to Monte Carlo where I was one of just two guys. About a dozen girls there and most were very attractive by my taste and very friendly, too. Slowly worked my way through the room chatting with each girl, all the while noticing two cute girls waiting their turn over by the bar. Kelly was a petite morena spinner with a tight body and a great smile. Mia was similar but with long dark hair and ample natural tits. After two weeks working near Manaus, went back to Monte Carlo for a potential repeat with Kelly. She wasn't working on a Tuesday about 8:30 PM, but the place that night was, by my standards, an adult Disneyland with maybe 20 to 25 girls, many of whom were very attractive. The mood was great, and the girls were very friendly. Six or seven were smoking hot, making for a tough choice. Last blast on a Thursday afternoon went to Green Therapy, on 13 de Maio 33, sala 2403, to repeat with Mel who I had met in August. Another awesome performance and equally amazing the second time around. 170 reais for the hour.

As usual, loads of eye candy on the streets and at the beach. In addition to the great scenery, the happy vibe, and the easy transportation, with just a little research, a little patience, some basic Portuguese, and overall not a whole lot of effort, it's pretty damn easy to have consistently great experiences in Rio's mongering world.

Planning my next trip in a few months will be arriving into Santo Dumont airport like my last trip choosing to stay more in Centro closer to the Lapa district, read that there now is a VLT train leaving from the airport into Centro. I do remember seeing work being done on the tracks, have anyone use this new service and the cost.

You can add a cost of R$3,8 to your planning.

Some misinformation is given in the forum about taxi fares and double fares on weekends.

Saturday (partly) and Sundays are Bandeira 2. Bandeira 2 is not double fare, it's only 20% more.

Bandeira 1: Monday-Saturday, 6.00-21.00.
Bandeira 2: Monday-Saturday, 21.00-6.00 and Sundays.
Exceptions on some holidays (Carnival, New Year etc).

My double comment came from me paying $R10 from posto 6 to Mabs during the week and $R20 on the weekend. Maybe it just worked out to that because it was a short trip.

Is it even possible to be centrally located within walking distance of enough establishments that I could be entertained for 3 weeks??

Anyway, because I am caring and nice:

Stay somewhere in Flamengo, Botafogo, Copacbana, or even Ipanema that is close (1-2 blocks) to a Metro station. The Metro will get you within walking distance of enough establishments.

(I didn't add other areas covered by the metro for various reasons, which I will not detail at this point).

Thanks bro! I have a few broken cell phones here at home. Sounds like repair costs in Brazil are a fraction of US costs. I think I'll bring them with me on my next trip, get them repaired there, then bring them back home ready to sell. Hopefully it will put a few bucks in my pocket. Maybe pay for a terma visit or something. Haha! Thanks again.

Good luck with your cellphones! If you will have the same positive experience as I had it will most likely be worth it and it could pay for a terma visit or something like that. It will be worth a try!

I thought so too, that my experience was worth sharing, because a working cellphone is probably the number one tool for mongering and when it breaks down one has to find a solution fast! And it is so much better to have it repaired on the spot than to have to send it away for service until one or some more days later.

The repair shop that helped me is called "Ananias Virtual Games" and they are at the Mercado Popular Uruguiana, Quadra "A" Box 108 ao 110, and it is just in the corner of Rua Uruguiana and Rua Buenos Aires. My one time experience of them was good so I might as well recommend them:
