Is it a bad time to visit Rio in end of January??

Found some amazing flight deals during this time and didn't see any holiday as well.

I am a regular visitor of Colombia and super excited about the opportunity.

In my opinion it is a really good time to visit. It's after the holidays and right before Carnaval so it's optimal.

My only experience with love motels is Vanity Motel in Copacabana some years ago. I checked the price for a room (not specifying how many occupants) and told the girls I planned on meeting where to come. When the guy at reception saw there were two girls that were going to be with me in the room, he said the price would be more. I forget how much more, but it was probably 50% more or higher. I suggest you confirm with the hotel the room price for the number of girls you want in the room before you go there in order to avoid surprises.

But, be aware that a street level door leading to an upper floor is not unusual. In Copacabana, there was a small termas of sorts across from the park and around the corner from Monte Carlo. Also, on Tonelero near the Siqueira Campos metro entrance was another upper floor place that unless you knew about it, you would walk right by.

I just got back from a couple of weeks in the Marvelous City and was frankly appalled at the blatant price-gouging at T65! As others have pointed out, it looks like T65 has received the lion's share of the overflow from 4 x 4 and they have decided to raise prices substantially to boot! I decided to check the place out about halfway thru my trip and had to wait at the reception desk while a group of gringos were asking the receptionist questions about pricing via G-translate. One guy struggled to explain that he was just there the week before and the prices were lower. When they finally decided to go in, I stepped to the desk & immediately realized what he was talking about! I had last been there during the summer & all of a sudden, the cover went from R30 to R40 (at least drinks are included) & the 30 m session was jacked up 25%! Since I happened to be carrying enough scratch, I decided to head upstairs & see how much the talent had improved.

If customers continue to patronize shady establishments like this, they will just continue to exploit you. FTR, T65 is now the highest-priced 2nd division place by a considerable margin & none of the other places of that class have raised prices since 4 x 4 closed, in fact several have dropped prices in recent years.

If your going to slag a club off at least post the correct prices. The 40 minutes went from 160 to 225 but I think you will find everything else went down, 60 minutes suite 290 down to 275, the JAW suite 60 minutes went from 440 down to 420 & the 90 minutes in the JAW did go up from 525 to 580. Considering that most people do an hour & like more then a cabine the prices changes are good. The massage went from 60 to 70. All prices I have quoted are Real in cash. The price list photos I have would not upload.

Christmas in Rio is a time for family. New Years is a time for family and lovers. Life would feel empty if spent with a john.

You are wanting to get laid and they are wanting to belong.

Which means different things depending on whether you are an occasional tourist or a regular visitor. I have had girls with no family in Rio or who lived far away and for whatever reason were not leaving spend the holidays with me for free. Fair trade. They are looking for something and you give it to them, you are looking for something and they give it to you. You just really have to understand what they are looking for and it is not money.

For the occasional tourist, things will start getting back to normal January 2 - 3.

Mind you, since this place reopened it has really been mediocre with a small, low-quality lineup. Now this time there were at least 2-2.5 x as many GPS as previous visits, but in no way was it commensurate w / the absurd prices increases! I'm very picky & tend to go from place to place looking for the right combo of features. 65 had all of 1 chick I found doable, but I wouldn't rate her more than a 7.5. Even worse, 40-50% of the females in there couldn't make $ in a decent prive, let alone a 2nd division / borderline 1st division place like this!

This is a perfect example of why I stopped patronizing the 1st division places many years ago once they lost their collective minds & decided to price themselves into the stratosphere! I go to Rio for the females, not the 'ambiance' & there is simply no place or class of places that has the market cornered on hot garotas. What bothered me most about 65 is that at least half the clientele were gringos (which was only 1 of 3 places where I saw a gringo monger in 2 weeks)!

I tried to avoid empty streets after dark.

However, in the middle of the day when I was standing and looking at the maps on my phone, I was approached a few times by the locals who warned me about some guy nearby who according to them could grab my phone and run away. This happened in Copacabana and Centro.

The cops in Sao Paulo busted a gang of kids snatching mobiles. Their MO: They'd ride around on motorcycles looking for people standing on curbs using their mobiles while waiting for the light to change or while waiting for an Uber looking at their mobiles, waiting at a bus stop etc. They'd see their victim one kid drove the bike, the kid on the back would do the snatching! I always thought for some kids it was a pretty sophisticated operation. Little by little groups of them were arrested in sting operations! I have no sympathy for these little street urchins!

You just never know. In the states, I walked up to the door of a lingerie store and it was locked. The owner unlocks it lets me inside and relocks it. Out walks a gorgeous girl wearing very loose shorts and top that showed everything. Who would have thought? In my travels, I try to keep an open mind and flexible schedule. My experience is that if there is a red door, I am going to check it out.
