I went to the airport about 4 hours before the flight. I ended up barely made it, and then the flight was delayed. LOL.

What happened was the airline employees led those customers that were late to skip the lines. The closer it was to my flight time, the worst it got. When I was second or 3rd in line. The group that skipped the line got bigger. This was about two and a half hour waiting in line. The lady with her kids that was in front of me could not take it anymore because the line had not moved for more than half an hour. She exploded, started screaming at the airline employee. By the time I reached the gate, the flight was delayed. LOL I was not surprised.

But I understand it is going to happen. I am in Ecuador now and whether in a taxi or restaurant, nobody ever has change. It is like they opened the day up not expecting someone may want change when they come patron here. I am trying to give them a 20 but my girl says just give them the 5. Yeah but if I do that then the next person is going to say they do not have change for the 20 so I am trying to get change when I can. The other day we went into a major grocery store to buy a couple of items. When I got in the line I told my girl that I am going to scream if these mfs in this big ass store say they do not have change. You should see the shit she has to fill out before they run my credit card. It is like applying for a mortgage.

Yep. Right before the grocery store we were at a department store because I had forgotten to bring my face towel. I was number one in the line for about 10 minutes while 2 chicks each were checking out the 2 customers already at the counter. It took 2 of them to put something into 1 bag. Efficiency is not a thing in third world countries.

I order an uber and on several occasions the driver has sent me 7 messages before arriving.

LOL. At least they send you messages. They always make an international call to me since I am Ubering under my T-mobile number. I definitely feel your pain on that one though. It is like ordering a pizza and they keep calling you back asking if you are sure you want a pizza or you are sure you want pepperoni on that. Chicks tell me they do it because many times the app is not accurate and sends them to the wrong place and they just want to make sure.

You start to realize these things are going to happen, but if you are impatient like me then you never get used to it. It is all part of the traveling experience. Guys say they want to learn about different cultures, well this is fucking it! Reminds me of a youtube video I saw a couple of weeks ago that talked about why when Black people from the USA move to Africa, they tend to quickly move right the fuck back. Yeah you might have the same skin color, but your culture (nor infrastructure) is nothing like theirs.

I understand your frustration here. I always say look at how much value a nation of people places on good customer service, and you'll be able to see why some nations are great why others will never be. When it was open, L'uomo used to be one of my favorite termas, but the place was tiny, including in the locker room where it could get tight. The woman at the front desk who assigned the lockers was nice enough, but she was also a moron. There would be hardly any customers in the place, and 4 guys would show up at about the same time, and she would give all 4 of them lockers in the same damn tiny little corner rather than spreading everybody out to allow for more room to change. She did that every single time and it was so fucking annoying, especially because there was always that one asshole who acts like he's got to hurry up and change before all the girls leave or something. Slow down dude! Them tutes ain't going nowhere! Damn!

I am much more worried in better neighborhoods when it gets dark and a bit deserted. And now, after 13 years being in and out of Brazil, I finally got to have guns pointed at me and knocked over my head. Where? In the BRT Rio Centro, in this Olympic complex. I was chatting with me ex-GF back-to-being-ho trying to figure out if I would go and see her. Standing alone in the BRT station, only one other passenger there. Suddenly black scumbag demanded I hand over my phone. Pistol pointed at me. I did not comply. I thought I would die that day. But I didn't and lost none of my stuff. I had everything on me that was important to me. Backpack, computer. Money, all papers, passport, ID and credit cards and money. Everything. They could have just shot me and made off with everything. Instead they insisted only one the phone, the last thing I could have given up. Stupid as fuck! They could have asked nicely for money and they would have gotten more than from the black market sale of my phone. They are really dumb people. But I shouldn't be too harsh with my rants, after all they didn't fire at me only knocked with these guns over my head a dozen times or so. I yelled and that startled them and they ended up running off. Then the bus came and I entered along with the other passenger who watched the whole scene without saying one word of support. Surreal.

I had almost a similar incident where three guys were trying to corner me.

I was walking at night maybe 11 pm down copa beach streets and one guy was coming towards me and two other guys were coming from behind.

I always swivel my head when walking to let people know I'm watching.

I walked across the street onto the beach and they still followed.

I went back and crossed the street casually and they still were on my tail.

One of them started to say something and try to close in on me and that's when I just booked it and ran towards a hotel.

The hotel guard saw me and asked if I was a guest and I said no but some guys were tailing me and he told me he would wait outside and look out for me while I called an uber.

I only had my phone and maybe 300 BRL and I was only a few blocks from my airbnb but definitely will be taking an uber to my place after 10 pm when all the shops and vendors close.

When it gets deserted that's when they target solo guys.
