"So we went and danced in the club for awhile. Around 3am, I was walking to the bar to get a drink and a girl grabs my arm and pulls me over to her group of friends. She then speaks Portuguese saying "o meu amigo quer um beijo de você" (my friend wants a kiss from you). At this point, I was thinking "Is this really happening?" It was kind of surreal. Her friend was super cute, girl-next-door type. So I tried to make her laugh by asking her if she spoke these far-off Asian languages "fala coreano? fala japonais?" She then says "nao fala" and starts speaking English. All of a sudden, all these girls surrounding me start speaking English. Turns out, they all go to PUC. Anyway, the girl didn't really want a kiss. Her friends were just screwing around with her. Another girl points to her friend and says in English "My friend wants a one-night stand with you". Of course, I just play along and say OK. Nothing happened after that, as I knew they were just teasing. "
Thanks for the intel on this club. That goes on my to-do list for next trip.
So, you got PHYSICALLY pulled into set, the first girl SAYS her friend wants a kiss, another friend SAYS a different girl wants a one night stand, and they all speak ENGLISH to keep you in set. Dude, the set was yours to lose. Of course they were teasing, but THEY started it. And its simply your cue to tease back (saying you heard PUC girls CAN'T kiss, or you normally charge for something like that, but if they're nice you'll give them a sample, or the friend can have a ONS with you only if she asks nicely in Portuguese, etc.) Or teasing the friend who pulled you in set with "do you always pick up foreign guys for your friend or just today?" At least you hung in there. Which girl seemed most interested? You could have gone for the isolation within the club with her, or have her help you with your Portuguese, show you around PUC, find out what they're doing after, etc.
Again, thanks for the reports, info on non-pro venues ALWAYS appreciated.

I am planning to move to Rio at the end of next year.
Would it be difficult for me to enroll in a language course at PUC? I would like to take a Portuguese course. What is the application process like if I will not be enrolled full-time? Fill out a form and pay the tuition? Any other qualifications necessary?
Thanks for any information you can provide.[/QUOTE

Taurus1 and Beach Star, you're both right.
Taurus1 is right, the goal for rich kids is to get into the Federal Universities. If they don't succeed they go to a private university.
The students at PUC are a mixture of rich kids and students from middle-/lowclass who got a scholar ship.
Beach Star is also right, the academic level at PUC is high and PUC has a very good reputation.
I also did a language course at PUC. As a foreign student at PUC the scoring chances are very high. When you get to know the rich PUC girls they are just as safada as their poorer "sisters" living on the morro.
