Cais do Oriente in Praca XV is a local favorite. It is a warehouse in a whole city block made into a restaurant. The prixe fixe menu is excellent. I had trout, jingo had tuna. The negra miss America and her likely gay companion were drinking sangria by the pitcher.

Solarium

I had been to Solarium previously but man what a difference. This has got to be the premiere Terma in Rio hands down. The quantity, selection, and vibe on this occasion were the best I've seen and totally different from my previous visit. All the girls were decked out in cute little red and white festive outfits, and the mood was sexy and carnivalesque.
