How did you register an account? The app only allows you to register if your from Brazil, Argentina or Chile.

When I registered with Bike Itau (iPhone), there was an option for "Other". I selected this, then entered my Passport #.

I'm back in the states so a little advice about getting a rapid antigen for return to the USA. PCR tests will not work because all tests must be within 24 hrs of your flight and rapid PCR is very hard to find in Brazil.

For all mongers from the USA. Please do not worry about the 24 HR timeline. The USA does not use hours as a timeline. It uses days and it has from the start. It reads:

Effective  December 6, the  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will require all air passengers two years of age and over entering the United States (including USA  citizens and Legal Permanent Residents) to present a negative COVID-19 test result a negative taken no more than 1 day before departure​, or proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days. Airlines must confirm the negative test result or proof of recent recovery for all passengers prior to boarding. ​Airlines must deny boarding of passengers who do not provide documentation of a negative test or recovery.

So, you can take a test more than 24 hrs in advance. For example, my flight usually leaves SP around 10 pm on Sunday which means I have to do my test ONE day before my flight which is Saturday and I can do it at any time on Saturday. I used to take the test on Thursday afternoon in São Paulo back when the requirement was THREE days and not 72 hours.

I don't know what happened with your experience but I have been to the same Pacheco (534 Nossa Senhora) like 5 times last year and it always worked the same. Walk to the back and the guy at the computer gives you a slip with the test you want. You take the slip to the front cashier and pay. Take the receipt to the back again and the guy puts you in the computer. You wait in line in front of the door on the right. The lady comes to get you, you sit down, then she swabs your nose. She tells you to go wait outside. After 10 minutes the guy calls you back to the desk to give you the printout and it is also emailed. 15 to 20 minute process depending on how many others are in front of you in the line in front of the door.

But it is only select Pachecos. All of them do not do tests. It appears they now have an oral test that is R89.90 instead of the nasal swab that I have been taking for R110.

I was "reliably" informed by the US Embassy that Clinica Galindo Campos on Ave Nossa Sra was the place to go. The morning before my flight I went there whereupon they said they only did PCR tests and referred me to a Sergio Franco down the street. I waited in line for an hour at said Sergio Franco before determining that yes, they did rapid antigen testing, but at a different location.

Sounds like an ordeal, not something you want to do on vacation. All the places you mentioned are diagnostic labs or Medical clinics, did you try a drugstore or Pacheco. In my limited experience in Brazil, almost all Droga Raia offer a rapid antigen test that takes less than 20 minutes. Maybe I just hit the right ones! Better to plan a day ahead and make an appointment for the next day.

What aspects of SEA do you prefer over Brazil? I guess it's cheaper, better English, and the food might be a bit better. But the girls are much less attractive (most gogos are filled with just chubbies) and the performance is very hit or miss. Brazil has been much more consistent in terms of both looks and performance, IMO. Plus it's in a very similar time zone to the US, so I can actually do a work-ation thing and also not have to deal with jetlag. Plus Brazilians seem to be more friendly and less racist too. Thailand and Cambodia win here.

Philippines and Brazil are equally bad (although I'm sure many will disagree). Rio is basically meat with fries and rice for every meal.

Racism/Social Openness

Brazil is the winner in this category, but I'm sure as a tourist you don't see the complete dynamic and many will disagree.

In SEA the girls are openly racist not only towards other Asians (Chinese), but also Indians and blacks. They seem to love Korean men for various reasons. White / light skin is put on a pedestal. I'm white so can't really give the melanated experience, melanated members please chime in.

Variety

SEA wins here with the sheer number of options (pre-covid) and the setup of places like Pattaya and AC which are basically towns built around Mongering, although Brazil gets points for staying largely open during covid.

Overall Advantage

SEA edges out Brazil, although this is mainly because I prefer slender women who allow BBFSCIP. If I liked larger butts and didn't mind covered sex it would be dead even or a slight edge to Brazil. The service of Brazilian women is a huge draw and the fetishes I received on this last trip are hard to find elsewhere.

The icing on the cake is that the LATAM representative barely even glanced at the pdf, rushed me through and gave me a form that was more or less a document that said "on my honor I have all the necessary negative tests and vaccination cards". Enforcement is lax.

New Year's Day. City is mostly closed, including privees in Centro.

With some downtime, decided to investigate the orange public bicycles (Bike Itau) scattered around the city.

I downloaded the Bike Itau app and registered a new account with my email, passport number, and credit card. I selected the Mensual Completo plan for $r39 per month. Within a few minutes, I was on my way from Catate to Gloria to Cinelandia to Carioca, then up to Av Presidente Vargas and finally Uruguaiana. I walked around for a while, but almost everything was closed, except for some restaurants and bars.

So I grabbed another bike, but this time the ride was different. Every time I turned the pedal, the bike would give me an extra boost. I pedaled again, and the bike boosted again. After a few minutes, I learned that I had chosen an electric bike. My first ever experience on one. It was actually a lot of fun, and obviously much easier to maneuver with the motorized assist. So apparently there is a mixture of normal and electric bikes available for use.

Overall Bike Itau is a fair price, good exercise, and the electric bicycles are quite fun. It's worth checking out.
