    The point of the matter

I agree that from an economic standpoint Brazil is hurt by the practice of strict reciprocity more than is the USA. But in saying that, you entirely missed my point. If you want to go to what many of us in the Brazil section consider to be the best mongering destination on earth, then you aren't going to let having to jump through a few hoops here and there stop you from doing so. And anybody who does let that stop them just isn't serious about going anyway or, I say again, just plain lazy and self-entitled because they "shouldn't have to do that". That's the point! I'm not here to talk macroeconomics. I'm here to talk "mongernomics"! It's a wonder that some people even took the time to get a passport!

    Back on Track

ForceSteeler where are all the boots on the ground reports you promised us when pumping us for information?

You arrived, you saw, you came, then nothing.

Anything useful at all? Anything except how ill-advised it is for someone who can barely speak English to try to learn Portuguese might prove useful.

    Third-World Country

By all means stay away from this third-world country which is the world's largest exporter of sugar, coffee, orange juice, tobacco, beef, and poultry meat; the second-largest exporter of soybeans, soybean meal, and ethanol; and the fourth-largest pork exporter.

Brazil also is home to Embraer which competes internationally with Canadian rival Bombardier for the title of third-largest airplane maker after Airbus and Boeing.

Some of you more savvy members also may have heard of 3 G Capital which was founded by Brazilians in 2004 and has offices in New York and Rio. The firm is best known for partnering up with Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffet) for its acquisitions, including those of Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Kraft Foods.

I, for one, am happy that Brazil is going through a cleansing. It would be nice to see some first-world countries follow suit.

Ignorance is only bliss for the ignorant. For everyone else, it is fucking annoying because if left unanswered often and long enough, even people who should know better, start to believe and perpetuate it.

I can understand why the USA plays hardball with the visa, because if they open the doors, It would be a flood of immigrants trying to come to the USA. I don't see to many Americans willing to leave to head to Brazil to live and stay.

Brazil Economy is in the toilet and its only going to get worst when the Olympics is over, so they need all the tourist dollars they can get. Playing hardball only hurts them not the USA.

Yes, everybody please stay far away from Brazil.

Europeans do not require a visa to visit Brazil up to 90 days for tourism. Americans need it, because Brazil maintains a fully reciprocal visa policy. I applaud Brazil, as a "3rd World Country", to stand up against the almighty USA.

The visa process is actually hurting Brazilians and not Americans. Brazil is a 3rd World Country. Tourism is big business a multi billion dollar industry. Putting these visa road blocks on tourist with a lot of disposable income (Americans and Europeans) is stupid or or just insane. Your missing out on a lot potential revenue. Brazil does not create anything, all they have is OIL, and commodities and The US Government / CIA are punishing Brazil, Russia and China for trying to start there own World Bank (BRICS).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRICS Which is why there economy is in shambles right now.

So You cannot rely on just having a commodities based economy. Its always good to branch out and get heavily into tourism. So Americans can ***** and complain about the visa process, They are the once that spend a lot of money, Just like if I'm a car salesman.

I'm going to cater to my high net worth buyers, I'm not going to put up roadblocks, especially if I'm going broke.

    Don't go to Brazil

    Hey,

Why should an American like to go to Brazil? Difficult to get a visa. Ugly girls that think they are a princess and want money like you are the king and buy her a castle. Go to Germany, they have everything in only one club. All in one place. Hot Romanian girls and even some Brazilians.

It's a bit of a pain in the butt, but the visa application process isn't that onerous. The only Americans who won't go to Brazil because of it are a bunch of lazy, self-entitled gringos who act like the rest of the world is supposed to bend to cater to them all the time.

Sorry for the real late response but she used to dance for a group called Das Popozudas. And at the time were the most popular baile group out there. Here's a pic of them. She is on the far right.

Dude scored the upper echelons of Brazilian funk culture and had no idea at the time.

Like someone mentioned before, I think most girls prefer a dance club to go in, until that returns the scene will be hurt. Also the fact that there no day spots to hang out hurts also, not being able to go to Meia Pataca around 3 pm for some daytime actions hurts, also didn't see any girls hanging on the beach in front of Meia Pataca and hotel Othon like they use to, the guys that worked the beach would let you know when you were walking by that there were puts in a section, nothing going on like that now.

I think everybody crossing their fingers that after the Olympics that everything will go back to normal but there no guarantee to that,by this time next year we will know.

Many factors would have to be involved:

    1. The dollar high maybe 5 to 1.

    2. Airline flight prices reasonable.

    3. Daytime spots like Meia Pataca start back letting chicas hang around.

    4. A nightclub opens back up.
The last price that will be adjusted will be termas-theyd rather give you 3 drinks for one than lower the price. LOL.

I remeber as a newbie in Rio in MC, I had a bad session-the girl went to the bathroom for like 15 minutes in the middle of it!

Needless to say I didn't take that too well and they tried to offer me free entry next time! Brazilian logic.

I said my session was 60 not 45 and girl argued for 5 so at the most was a 40 min one.

I think mongers will return after Olympics but I doubt another Help will ever open.

It will be freelancers and semi-pros and the remaining termas.

The tourist trap termas won't shut in Zona Sul but the ones dependent on local trade are at risk for sure.

Tourists don't tend to go there and if theyre the ones with the money its going to get tricky.

    http://www.pastemagazine.com/article...-olympics.html

As for the mongering scene I would not worry to much. Once the Olympics is over. Everything will get back to normal. All The Hotels, Apartment Owners, Restaurants, Termas, etc will get in line with there prices. You cannot keep a inflated price forever.

Everybody is hoping to cash in on the Olympics but its looking like a very huge bust and its only going to get worst for Brazil when the Bills are due, for all this overspending on mass construction, for tourist that won't even be there like that etc. Its really bad.

You will see a massive influx of mongers after the Olympics. The Real Currency, plus the airline tickets were crazy back in 2010-2014, It was almost $1500 for a plane ticket, Now its like $500-$600. So guys don't stress yourself about the mongering scene.

After the Olympics and when the economy crashes back to reality, Your going to see a lot of hungry GDPs.

I'll be headed to Vitoria Brazil for one week starting this Friday. If anyone has any info on Vitoria, I would love to hear about it. If not, then I'll have a good post on it in a few weeks.
June. September 2016, no visa required to visit Brazil as a tourist. And there is no requirement that you attend an event. The visa process isn't that bad. And to say that Americans won't visit be use of a visa is nonsense. The flights I take to Brazil from the US are near capacity load.
