Research results and Question about visitor friendly hotels near Copa.

    Hi guys,

    Planning a trip to Rio.

This may be belong to the Hotel and Apartment thread but I see little activities there so I put it here. Hope you won't mind.

    Just want to.

    A. share result from some of my research by calling the places.

    Astoria Palace.

    Mars Palace.

    Windsor Excelsior.

    Windsor Palace.

    Rio Othon.

    Grand Mercure Copa.

    Orla.

    Mirasol.

    Simply said no visitor and.

    Olinda.

    Arena.

Charges a lot per visit (250+).

    B. Ask if anyone has any idea about a good hotel around Copa, close to Metro and beach, with policy allowing visitor for free or small charge?

    C. I have been told that.

    Atlantico.

    Pestana.

Could be visitor-friendly but I sense even that info was given to me in a non-confirming subtle way perhaps. Plus I saw some not so favorable review about the hotels themselves, anyone stayed at any of them before?

    Thanks a lot!

    Termas v. FKK.

    Greetings fellow travelers,

I am planning a first-time trip to Brazil (and still debating on whether to go to Rio or SP), but I think a big part of that decision will be based on which city has the better strip-club brothel / FKK type scene. My favorite platform for P4P is to frequent a place like Fase Dos (Medellin) and then to select from the many girls dancing / walking around. Which city would be better for that between Rio and SP?

Also. I am a fan of the FKK format in Germany and really enjoyed frequenting those places. I hear termas are similar to that. Are the termas only in rio? Or does SP have them as well?

Thanks for any insight, as usual!

It's possible that it is no longer. Someone asked on GpGuia if had closed again on Jun 15,2018. Sadly, there was no response. I'm unable to find anything recent about it on the local Rio forums.

T65 has been closed down since late May and they turned it into gay sauna like Aerioporto terma in order for them to make more money. Aeroporto was successful in making more money from gays than straights. So that's why they did the same to T65.

It's always a matter of money in Brazil. It's not a matter of what's normal or not.

Termas 65 turned into a gay club? Say it isn't so!

Mosaico near / in Vila Mimosa.

Does anyone have intel on a club / terma called Mosaico in or near VM? It was recommended by a friend based on word of mouth. Would like to hear first hand accounts.

    Thanks!

Good advice, as Rio is my next stop after I hit Bogota over Labor Day weekend. But I think my visit to Brazil is going to be as much as a year out. The upshot of visiting Brazil from June through September is that it should actually be cooler than where I am now (Texas). Outside of the time periods previously mentioned, are there any other bad times to visit Rio? It seems like its great place to be at least 48 weeks out of the year. Your input, please.

Hopefully I will have picked up some basic Brazilian Portuguese by then, and I will try and tap into my local Brazilian ex-pat community for tutoring (though they tend to be evangelicals and not into what I will be looking for). By most accounts, knowing the language will open some opportunities, or no?

Where do the influx of girls before Carnival show up? Just curious, thanks.

I understand that Christmas, New year's eve and Eastern are bad times to visit.

I've more or less already decided to visit Brazil again so it's only a question of when, how long and what places in Brazil.
