Just arrived in Rio for Carnaval with a buddy. Last night we went to Monte Carlo, there were some decent girls. I settled with a pretty black girl named Veve, who looks like Gabrielle Union and she was very good.

To give you some perspective, what you get in Sao Paulo with your money during the carnival, I spent yesterday three hours with a Scandallo girl in a motel http://www.motelmyflowers.com.br/suite-lotus (Bedroom with a 50 inch TV, reasonably priced minibar, toilet. The damage was, Girl 600, Motel 180 (I took it for four hours, even if we used it only 3 hours), a dildo, two beers and a Coke 75.

It seems to me that Sao Paulo is cheaper than usual during the Carnaval. The business people are out and local men have to spend time with their families in the city or on the beach. The hotels are really cheap now and the girl said to me that she doesn't know if Scandallo is open, but if it is open, there is no business. She said that in Scandallo she asks 600 for an hour and can go down to 500, but not below that plus the client has to pay the entrance and the room. Now I get three hours of that same pussy for 600, which could be even less if I negotiated.

What are you veterans doing to get around these high prices?

Just do what the brazilians do. Get the girl's phone number and have them come to your place for a cheaper price. Tell them up front that you will not be taking them upstairs but you would like them to come to your place. Most will agree if you are staying in Copa because many girls don't pull customers every day. Offer her the cut she would receive if you paid for your pill at the front desk, I think its around 250 R.

I haven't had the best luck withthat technique at 4 x4 (maybe because the girls there get more customers or because they have to travel 2-3 hours to get hoime. But if the girl has to go to copa everyday for work an dyour apartment is close, I would think they would take you up on your offer.

Hotel Vanity was still operating as of two weeks ago. You may be referring to the hostel which was next door which has now gone and I believe is some form of office.

The numbers kind of add up.If sesh is 1 hour 460 per person is 920 and 200 entrance for 2 is 1120 so yall must have been hitting the drinks.

Mind you if you buying girls drinks it adds up so 1425 is plausible -the way to get around it is not to go to the tourist traps in zona sul and head for Centro or vm. I remember celebrating my birthday at Mc my 2nd time in brazil with no portugues hardly -had a 3some and shit loads of drinks and it came to 1400. 1 hour session in 2014

The Princess Promenade on rua Xavier the Silveira is girl friendly. When you take back a girl they merely require a copy of her ID card which they will photocopy. They will also get you to sign a form having filled in her details. So, all in all, it is good protection for you and the hotel. One thing that surprised is that when the girl leaves reception do not call to check all is OK. By way of contrast in the Philippines the reception always calls to make sure all is well.

As it is your first trip, one more tip, if you think the girl could be trouble (and in Rio many fit that category) then take her to a love motel such as Hotel Vanity on Nossa Senhora de Copacabana where you can rent a room for 4 hours. In Brazil love motels are a tradition and are designed for short stays.

Yikes! I thought I was spending $75 usd there 3 years ago when the dollar was weaker. Back then that would be around $60 at today's rates. Monte Carlo one of my top 5 thermaes. A local took me to a fast fuck place and sadly it was marked up because of his cut / commission. It is roughly $1 a minute. Outstanding lineup of a dozen girls. I couldn't locate the place by myself even though I was within a block or two of the place near copa beach. Paying with card was somehow cheaper even though they charge a surcharge. Simply avoid carnival and maybe you should have came before inflation and adjustments. If you go to the the old red light district beware of pickpockets.

Could you please recommend some of the girl friendly hotels? Planning my first trip to Rio and I'm getting very mixed messages from researching this forum. Would hate for this aspect to ruin my mongering adventure.

Funny how as soon as he checked the booking, it was ALL ok. That's exactly how to handle it. Shut him right the fuck up. After that the fucker never asked again!

My experience with Rio hotels is that every desk clerk / assistant manager will handle it differently. I'm not sure any Rio hotel operates under a specific rule. I've always paid for two and still had desk clerks try to charge me for a guest on the spot or sometimes surprise me at checkout. In the same hotel on the same stay, another desk clerk might not try to charge me anything. When it has occurred, I usually argue my case and they relent.

In fact, every few years the hotels that allow girls / don't allow girls seems to change. I'm curious, at a minimum don't your guests have to show ID at the desk?

I stayed at the Premier a few years ago also. For a few months through New Years and Carnaval. Never once had an issue.
As I correctly stated- My advice was for guys who know how to handle themselves.

That price is fair for those girls. The price in Sao Paulo seems to be around 350 reais for about 60-90 minutes with the better looking girls. There is a very small few superstars that try to push the price above 400, but I don't even bother with them.

About a month or so before my trip I created a new Facebook page with a fictitious name. Filled it with my pictures of recent travels and then went to make some new GDP friends in Rio, I collected about 30 of them. Some analysis is needed of their friends list for things in common like obvious mongers and also mongers I know plus known people in Rio whose female friends would have a high probability of being a GDP, also pictures of them in known gdp places, I put together a nice collection. So if they're GDP's Then my age is not so important because they know who they are and why I requested their friendship. I am staying close to Ipanema. Have used Monte Carlo a fair few times and MABS and DV. Picked up a few stunners opposite the Othon Palace Hotel I think its called. I have a very basic grasp of Portuguese from a CD course. I will be OK if they speak damn slowly and I do mean robot slow).

I have never tried the escort agencies but fancy giving that a go. I am over 40 and in good shape so could do with knowing a few good trendy bars where the 30 year old decent Brazilian women hang out.

I have never been to a privi or the red light district in centro. I am well travelled in Thailand Pattaya, Sosua and just came back from two months in Havana.

What do you guys do for mobile phones. I don't want an iPhone on the beach so need to buy a secondhand 4 g phone and a contract. Someone said zona sol shopping centre and you have to take your passport. How much is a cheap secondhand phone out there. Do you guys use Uber in Rio and how much is the taxi ride from the airport to Ipanema. How much are we paying for a chair and an umbrella on the beach. Basic questions but in all countries a pale skin and limited Portuguese means a lot of people try to rip us off all over the world.

What are the cheapest places to eat basic food, I am assuming anything away from the sea front and tourist sidewalk. Do they run a two price system, one for locals and one for residents as is the case in other countries.
