Gentlemen,

It is a time-honored tradition in this part of the forum to chew out a guy if he overpaid. But really, it adds nothing to the forum to make some snide or sarcastic remarks, or to question somebody else intelligence or manhood or whatever, pointing out that he was had. Yes, there is a bit of a function in the price discussion in that it establishes an accepted baseline. But that can already be had much better and more concise by reading Bubba Boy's Rio guide or consulting Sperto's list of centro places.

And there are a few things to consider:

1. Attacking people on the price they paid for services will just discourage future honest post from them and others. Whatever they paid, they already paid. Nothing changes that at the time of posting. Adding insult to injury is not needed and not productive.

2. The value of a session can be freely negotiated with freelancers. And there are many many considerations that go into this. Time constraints, competition from other males, visual appeal and age (of both participants in the transaction) , special needs, nervousness, monetary supply on the buyer side, amount of alcohol consumed prior, personal connection felt, lack or abundance of other options (again, on both sides) , language skills, flirting skills, perhaps even dancing skill, nervousness, whatever.

3. Value is in the eye of the beholder. Look at the comparison to meals: I like eating at kilo places, and I also like eating at places like Marius. Both get you filled with calories, so why is Marius more than 10 times more expensive? Sometimes you are in the mood for a bit more ambiance or whatever, and you pay the higher price. It depends on the circumstances and what you would like out of them. (Fellow board member Christopherd and I once drove this to stupid extremes when we first mongered at VM, but then decided to each blow ~R300 on a long taxi ride and dinner at a very expensive seafood restaurant. I still laugh at how crazy that was, but what is done is done.)

4. Paying a lower price for a given session does not make you a better man. Neither does paying a higher price. It's just what it is, and it all depends.

This is a trend everywhere in SA (save maybe in Argentina) and in Carribeans. In Colombia too, seems that many women are potbellied and with rather fat asses. Also keep in mind that the average height in Brasil is low (5'2" for women) , which plays a role in the BMI calculation. The roads are definitely not paved with tall and slender beauties in this part of the world.

Frankly both things would bug me even in my own country. It's not us-vs-them or locals-vs-gringos, it's a behavior thing.

Am I happy for you that it doesn't bother you? Sure am. Wish I could be there with you. But I'm not. So there's my explanation. Unless your question was rhetorical.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of the big-bunda loiras at Solarium. I like fit slim girls or fit big girls. Too many saggy bellies for me there. Which is great for you, as you love the place. Well the Kid Cisco have some rules too and that is the female will always choose who she wants to be with PERIOD! And I don't care WHERE in the world you go and I have been places around the world and lived around the world when I was station in the Navy I would go to night clubs, bars, malls you name it I seen NBA players and OBESE short business guys run up in chicks faces and watch females diss them and turn their backs and walk away from them ONLY to step up to a guy they find to be cute or fine. If she have to be in a place 8-10 hours a day and have her bills paid up she is going to want to be around guys or a group of males she want to get a good LOUD laugh and talk and play around with rather than be with some geeky gringo that just want to ask do she take it up the ass? You see I been going to Brazil since the late 70's and to other places around the world I stand 6'5 barefoot and I keep myself fit in shape and don't have some beer BELLY I am always groom to the "nines" so I just stand by myself and IF some chick is with some Brazilian dude or with some geeky NERD trust me! And as for BIG BUNDA blonds at Solarium I don't care for OBESE belly chicks either and (the Kid Cisco) sure as hell not going to fly 9 hours to pay to fuck them either and I DON'T LOVE the place I do like or will go there and check out the place you see (the kid Cisco) doesn't live in Rio and I have a limit amount of time to be in Rio so guess what? I am going to check out a few places most of the girls I met on facebook will see me after work so in the mornings I will work out and shop and see what I can pick up at the malls also I know a few guys that have retired and live in Rio and they NEVER I repeat NEVER go to the termas they told me when they 1st came to Rio they would run up in the termas all the time (that last for a short period of time weeks to a month or so) and than they are sitting up their play list LOL LOL

To keep it 100% I wouldn't want to hang out or be around anyone that lived in a country 24/7 for years and ALL they knew or went to were termas / Spas and couldn't roll up in some nice night spots or clubs or lounges and pick up chicks or knew chicks they wasn't ex hookers etc. That just (the Kid Cisco) take because I know IF a dude came to my city I could take him to spots that he didn't have to pay by the hour to be with a chick. PUT let me say this I am not hating or putting down cats that do this some guys and I realize some guys have NEVER found their game. I know guys that played in the NFL and if it wasn't for their pockets they would NEVER get ass. LOL

And IF LOUD music such as "Slappin the Bass" annoy you guess what? Going to Termas with LOUD music and lound laughing slapping ass Brazilians annoy you maybe going to Termas isn't for you maybe try hitting up lounges and meeting fly smart chicks on facebook those that have REAL jobs working at hotels, or working for the airlines or banks or going to school or working or owning a store in the mall those are some of the chicks I have met over the years get in shape post some pictures on face book of yourself and see how many chicks hit on you.

Last time I was in barbarella a 7/10 chick wanted r500 as her ask and wouldn't budge even after I explained in live here and never pay more than r200.

I think you can find hotter chicks on hotside for r300.

One of my friends in Rio swears that they shut down the kitchens in the Marriott and the Sofitel hotel because they were serving food that was past its expiration date and a number of tourists had complained about being sick after eating there.

Reason is more greed and corruption than carelessness (deals passed between cuisine crews and suppliers). Brasilians greediness has no limits. They are the most untrustworthy people on the planet IMO.

Holy shit. Poisonned food even in fives stars hotels. And not in just one, but in four. Rio, what a shithole.

I have been reading the forum for a while and I am surprised that I am the only person who like Barbarella's, Ciccolini (?) or Erotika. I probably run around to these places less, only going once or twice a month but I love them. I go out with friends and after having a great night that ends a bit early, I then run through a couple of these places. Or when I have some gringos in town, we head over there. Even Barbarella's is suffering from a talent drought but it is rare that you don't see some real stunners.

In a few more years the Copa scene will be dead at the rate it is declining, and then I will have to find a new place to live.

I shouldn't worry about eating out as long as it's popular places like Porcão, Aipo Aipim, Big Nectar, Kice Suco etc.

This is a very common occurance in Rio. They bust places all the time, Suco Bars are probably the worst offenders. It is actually quite common for people in their houses to eat food that has gone past the expiry date, so I guess the same workers that toil at the local eateries don't think twice about it. As long as the food smells ok they will eat it, even if it is past its expiry date.
