Wow, now I feel kind of lucky. It was only the lady who gave out the keys that asked for a tip. I always tip the locker room attendant but she never asked for a tip.

The waitress in the boite, the girl who hands you a key and books your room, the girl who cleans the room and gives you towels, the girls who ring up your bill, even the security guard who takes your receipt before you leave asks for a damn tip!

It was super annoying to have to constantly say no to every one!

This question is for QuackUp but in the meantime for him to answer I can tell what the the prices were when I was in Cancun just a few weeks ago. I hour was 330 Reais and 40 minutes was 310 (not 300 Reais). I don't know if they raised the prices just recently to 330 Reais for 40 minutes as QuackUp is saying. If they did, I wonder how much one hour is by now. I took a photo of the pricelist when I was there. The pricelist is by the counter upstairs where you sign in with the girl. See attached photo:

1 hour is 330,40 is 310. . Dude might have made a mistake writing or got ripped.

I forgot to add in the general reports that in the past, when visiting Brazil, I would go hog wild the first few days and try to do as many girls that I could. No VIP, a bit of a claustrophobic dance area in the basement area, but full of pretty attractive 20 somethings. Starting to see a bit more chemical flavor in the Rio party scene, although the quality is nothing near Europe or the US. The ledges above the toilet paper dispensers in the stalls are generally covered in traces of blow.

Can be fun if you're into electronic music, but you're more likely to spend your night making out with some e'd up chick who then just wants to go home once she starts coming down.

Bukoswski bar in Botafogo has a lot of girls who're looking to get taken home, but the ratio runs a bit too high on the penis side for my tastes. A fun spot as has a big backyard.

Mirroir on the Lagoa is full of hot girls and a few working girls (all the big clubs in Barra also have a fair number of working girls). You can get a VIP table for about are $500.

Check timeout's rio page for special events in the city. The parties in Gamboa (Praca Maua), on Sugar Loaf, and at the Marina the Gloria tend to be really good and full of gorgeous girls.

I agree about Fosfobox. Its super claustrophobic, takes ages to buy drinks and they have that ticket system that's long. Alot of Molly, E,Ketamine, Coke etc. This is an electronic white want to be european crowd.

No point going to Brazil for that.

I think Bloccos like the one up the road from praca maua on a Monday has better girls by far. Both tight as sardines but bloccos got the mixture of girls and ages.

Like I said we find a spot, we go on there on the regular and the ladies will come.

So, if it is that easy why are Ex-Pats who have lived and sometimes worked in Brazil for years still paying for it?

Having gone down the tinder and brazilcupid roads, I must admit, it is pretty easy to get a Brazilian girl for free. However, as a long term expat, I would never want an ongoing relationship with a Brazilian girl. They are just too volatile and they have a tendency to tell gringos they're on the pill and suddenly get pregnant. It's not just the girls from the poorer areas who do this; middle and upper middle class girls are prone to the same tactics.

They also have a propensity to get super clingy and lose their minds if you want to go out for a beer with your male friends. It's suffocating.

As a result, a lot of guys opt to pay for play as it works out cheaper in the long run (especially if they're already married or otherwise committed).

FWIW, my taxi ride with 2 "volumes" (suitcases) from GIG to Copa at 2 am earlier in the week (Bandeira 2) cost about BRL 83, and was closer to BRL 78 before the charge for each of the "volumes. " That's a common yellow taxi on the meter, taking the new tunnel thru cento to Aterro de Flamengo. The booths outside customs did not have the same Infocoop stand I've seen in other terminals, they were charging BRL 130. So I grabbed a taxi outside.

By comparison, sending a friend back from Copa to Duque de Caxias in Uber X cost about BRL 69 during the day with no surge pricing. But hey, Cartman is a nice guy.

Try hitting some of the hotel roof top bars like the Marriott or the Pestana, definitely GDP's are frequenting these places on the weekend.

Never claimed it was easy, just another option if you want to go out with non-pros. Dating and seduction takes a lot of work. Some hamster wheels are easier to spin than others. Had a date with a woman 1/2 my age today. Because of the holidays she is off with her family for the next two weeks so I'll only see her a couple more time this trip.
