The guy who passed away at Balcony last night was one of the nicest persons I know.

He did not drink. Always was hanging with an agua com gas (so no chance at all.

Of any foul play) and watching the bundas walk by. He was with some of his best friends.

When he passed away.

He was diagnosed with a heart problem about half a year ago and was on a waiting.

List to get a heart operation. Unfortunately it looks like his heart suddenly gave out

Before that planned event.

He loved to find that cute and pretty spinner, among the many average garotas at.

Balcony. He knew what he was doing. He loved Balcony (and Terraco Atlantico and Help before)

And was in a place he enjoyed when he passed away.

I and my / his friends will miss this kind and gentle guy tremendously.

in brazil i don't worry about getting killed by robbery, i worry about dying from just a normal accident.

i agree. the traffic is my only real fear in brazil. i've seen so many accidents.

if you feel suicidal you should cross the avenida at praça das bandeiras. lots of lanes and the car goes at top speed.

there is a place where i wish i saw more accidents. at central, on the other side of av presidente vargas. there are always a bunch of scumbags who rob people getting of the buses. they snatch a bag, neckless or mobile phone and then they cross the avenida running quickly. it's a a miracle that they don't get hit by a bus. 15 minutes later they are back waiting for a new victim.

regarding medical care. what impressed me are the small free public clinics that they have in botafogo and some other places in rio. i think they are run by the bombeiros in some way. i followed friends there a couple of times. well-organized, clean, attend quickly and very professional doctors.

This is why you need to be extra careful in Brazil, there are plenty of ways to have an accident or cause a medical emergency and if you do get into trouble the chances of medical care getting to you quickly, is significantly lower than that of the west. For example:.

The number 1 way of dying in Brazil is by car accident. The roads are terrible, the cars have no airbags, side impact bars or even ABS and they drive to a very poor standard. Then if you do survive a crash in these crappy little cars the chance of an ambulance getting to you quickly is low and then if they do get to you when you are still alive the standard of medical care is also lower. Net result, you are 5 times more likely to die on a road in Brazil per Km traveled compared to the US or 10 times more likely to die per KM traveled than in Germany or most Euro countries.

A guy appeared had some sort of medical emergency tonight. His friend and a few patrons performed CPR but stopped after 20 or 30 minutes. The police just watched the bystanders try to help the guy.

They put a couple of table cloths over him and the waiters were stepping over him like nothing unusual. No ambulance ever showed. I left after about 4 hours and his body was still there. A lot of people didn't even know there was a body there.

Weird that an ambulance didn't show up. Copa D'or isn't far away.

That is so sad. Before I take a trip overseas a month before the trip I make sure I go to the VA and my other Doctors and get a work up of lab tests done and get into GREAT shape 7-8 months early because since I travel alone I only have myself to count on. Because I have seen police stand by and watch clowns get mugged and beat senseless without doing a thing.

This is another reason why sooner or later that Balcony Bar will be closed down I wonder did this poor soul had a drink or anything? That was going to knock him out? But ended up killing him?

There have been many other guys that have been drugged by hookers at the Balcony Bar and you can't put anything past anyone else that could have something to do with it. In South Beach these hot looking girls was going around drugging guys stealing their wallets and hotel room keys etc. And the waiter and bar back was part of the "gang" that was taking part in these girls robbing crew.

Just be careful guys when you order drinks at the Balcony Bar that is all I can say they have arrested many hookers for drugging tricks at the place. I for one won't ever be going back to the place.

HelpRules I always speak and talk about the (TRICK mind-set) if you act and behave like a monger / trick you will be treated like one just behave and dress and carry yourself like a male with confidence that is use to being around hot chicks and dating hot chicks without paying them to be around you and you will be amazed how your attitude will change about yourself and then you will have girls / non-pros / and even hookers attitude change when dealing with you.

I don't have that problems and I see many other guys don't have that issue either.

Most chicks I deal with know and can see or look in my eyes and know I am not for no BS. NO I am not perfect or some Don Juan but I get my fair share of non-pros. BUT I don't pay for a non-pro to be with me hell I was in Rio for almost 3 weeks I didn't have but 1 chick asked me for a drink at the Termas (I told her NO) and she can leave if she wants to she said it ONLY cost 10 reals I said if that is all it cost buy yourself a drink. LOL I told her NO I don't drink and I don't buy girls drinks to sit beside me I don't have to. Just by me saying that she was interested and me and stayed beside talking to me most of the night.

And I had some chicks that wanted to sit beside me for hours and hours knowing I don't and won't buy them a drink they just enjoyed talking and laughing and hanging out with me. I seen some guys that felt they needed to buy girls drinks and pop bottles and they would have up to 4-5 girls at a time with their glass out for a drink. As soon as the drinks stop coming the girls got up and got the hell on and didn't give him a second look for the rest of the night.

Preach on Kid Cisco. This is some of the best shit that I have ever seen you say. When a chick busts out the,"it only costs..." I like to say,"Well bi*ch you buy me one since it is ONLY..." One other problem with being a gringo- we have a reputation about coming to brazil to screw gdp's. Girls at Nuth and other nice clubs know this, and are afraid to be with us because they don't want brazilians thinking they are hookers. My portuguese isn't great, so when I am with a regular girl, its not as easy to make them laugh and have free flowing game.

I agree you should never buy drinks for these girls or you will be human pitcher for them. Never give them money to get into help (back in the day). There is one exception. We should buy one drink for a girl we know we are going upstairs with. If your making out with a girl, and grabbing all over, having good convo for 30 minutes, and you don't buy her at least a cola, yo are just a cheap ass. Thats how I feel. I see it with some guys and it makes me sick. Thats why alot of guys complain about the sessions. Its hard to interview a girl and click with a hot one, if your cheap ass won't spend anything. I called him a cheap ass and explained I am not going to eat a pizza by myself and let the girl stare at me with no food or drink, so I can prove some kind of point that I will spend nothing on hookers other than sex. It's dumb. Life isn't about who can die with the most 3 dollar drinks saved. Some of you guys take these rules too far. Maybe thats why I have good sessions with girls 99. 9% of the time. Bottom line, if I am with a girl that I am having fun with, and I am clicking with, I will always buy her a drink if I am going upstairs with her. Patron? NO. Cranberry juice? Sure.

Went out early last night (7 pm) and visited the Balcony. There were 10 or 15 girls working the place and a few cute ones. Only saw one TV. It definitely got more action (including more TV) much later, say 11 pm, but all in all a good place for a early night.

Thanks for that report I just gave Balcony Bar one shot when I was there I had to asked the girl with glasses a few times for a menu and she kept saying ok ok BUT never brought one. The tall guy with dark hair I asked him one time and he brought me one and I order some Frango / chicken. And got up and left.

I am sure with the World Cup and the games coming there someone will offer and make a offer to the owner that he can't past up and the Balcony Bar will be done. As for as the TV's that is one of the things that turned me off to the point I had to get my food to go and I ate it at my hotel.

I am sure by the time the rest of the world comes to Rio they will have plans for the Balcony Bar with more and more TV's running around. I am sure that is something they will want to put a end to.
