Regarding test locations for antigen tests in Copacabana. I've been looking around a bit for 2 days. Right now there is a high demand for covid tests in Rio. Outside some laboratories there are long lines with people waiting to get tested. Omicron is coming strongly. Prices between 100-150 reais.

* Pachecho farmacy: An NS Copacabana 534 and 755. Quite unprofessional staff. Fully booked for several days ahead.

* Drogaria Venncio: They have one or two locations in Copa that does antigen tests. One is close to the Bodytech gym on AV NS Copacabana. They are fully booked one week ahead.

* Laboratories: IMO the best option is to get tested at a laboratory in Copacabana. There are lots of them. Belizario, LabiExame, Sergio Franco, Bronstein, Labs A+ and a few more. The cheaper labs have lots of people crowded in waiting lines. The labs that are bit more expensive have less people waiting. No need to make an appointment for antigen tests (just PCR tests)..

Always expect surprises in Brazil. An update on testing locations. I passed a bunch of laboratories on Friday. The message was very clear on Sergio Franco and Bornstein, you should go there without making appointment for antigen test. On Monday I turned up at Sergio Franco at 6. 30 AM. New rule, they only accept customers who made an appointment. This new rule was because they had very few test kits. They had to turn away about 40 really pissed people who had got the information that appointment wasn't necessary. The Brazilians made a big scene, yelling and getting really angry. Finally she managed to get tested at LabiExame. A long waiting line, cheap test 88 reais and the test results took 5 hours.

The omicron is spreading very quickly in Brazil right now. I have lots of friends all over Rio who got tested positive the last week. Fortunately most of them have very mild symptoms.

Last week I got invited to two churrasco parties, in São Gonçalo and Vidigal. Churrascos is a bit risky.
