I got a lot of help from this forum. So time to share to the forum.

This was a trip, I was very confused. Should I go or not go due to some military / issues etc.

The girl that I know from prior trips. Said there are some military issues and copa is very bad. So I should stay in Barra etc.

So I was very much in double mind.

The next thing, when I got to the airport, I got an email from USCIS (I had registered) informing that there was an emergency due to some Truckers strike. So even more concerned. No food / no gas / no taxi to go from the hotel. Now it is all crap has hit the fan. Airline sends a message, saying that due to the strike we can cancel our flights with no penalty and money back.

Now, we think, vacation taken and so many things have been completed. So we called the hotel and asked them to send a taxi to the airport $R300. (I know it is only 50-60 by uber), but decided to play safe.

Got there, hotel taxi was waiting. As we were driving, we saw nothing abnormal in Copa / Av Nossa Senrosa. All OK. Everything normal and didn't see any military etc. , exchanged dollars. At that time 1 USD was 3.66 (in the net), but the store opp western Union in Copa (av. Nossa) I got 3. 73. Good one.

Sheraton was an awesome property, the private beach, awesome view, decent breakfast, (not a brand new hotel, but its ok). (I have stayed before at HIlton, Rio Othon, Olinda Rio, Windsor, Best Western etc. , along Copa. Also, I was able to take girls upstairs. One who went and enquired directly at the front desk, we had to do all the necessary paper work. And another day, was able to just take some one directly to the elevator. (knew this girl very well).

Also, there was a working girl (average looking) speaking good english at the bar. Are $350. My friend took her, and mentioned very average performance.

First day, went to Solarium.

Uber to Solarium was only are $12.

Solarium had tons of cute girls. Avo was my first one. Then my very first black girl. She was 19, she was a true GFE. Chacau was her name. Very soft nice girl. (1 hour was 160+460 =620 for credit card adn 560 with cash. 110 for entrance). Are $395 for 40 minutes.

First night - 2 girls.

Had a good time. Good service. Rest to follow.

Seems like dropping in to a termas (where everyone is there for the same thing) would be much more discreet than the walk of shame at a hotel where you are laying your head and have to see the doorman, reception, and housekeepers everyday. Besides, I doubt there are hookers at those hotels, but if there were then the hotel staff would be well aware of who they were. Hence, no discretion at all!

Of course. Every hotel is laid out different though.

When Justin Bieber was photographed coming out of Centaurus, I just laughed. In the old days, we would say "buh-sted. " I once met a hotter than Janet Jackson look-alike with an incredible body in Rio. She told me she had just hooked up with an NBA great (name withheld) the week before. I actually knew he was in Brazil that week. So discretion is certainly built on relying on the girl and other people.

Last October I was staying at the JW Marriott and a chick came to see me that works at a well-known hotel chain in Barra de Tijuca. She was shocked when I was able to march her right past reception without them saying anything. I told her this is Sweet Daddy that you are dealing with.

Do any of the high-end hotels like Copacabana Palace, Hotel Fasano or any other upscale hotels have working ladies in the bar on occasion?

I've never had a need, but a friend who has business down there asked me this question. I told him I did not know. Like a lot of us, he likes seeing the girls before committing. I would just drop into a termas, but he is far more discreet than me.

Yes you are right and I am trying to learn everyday day. Growing up and living in a country where all you ever hear is English seems to make it so hard for us to learn a different language. I agree 100% that its respectful to learn another countries language. Thanks for the tips re Whatsap desktop and Bing. I use an app on apple in whatsap called ITranslate but its very fiddly and doesn't do predictive text.

The answer is to learn Portuguese.

Dude as long as you learning everyday you'll get there. May I recommend jumping on webcam with cupid girls and struggling-nothing like trauma to make you learn. Deep end bro. The best app is: learn portugese ASAP😃. -if yall really love Brazil and Brazilian girls you'll get the effort back many fold in better experiences and interaction with chicks who don't speak a word of English-plus it's a sign of respect and love for their culture much like the French who prefer you speaking broken French instead of English in their country. None of my many many non pro relationships or casual.

When I am feeling lazy and the messages are coming a mile a minute, I use the Desktop version of WhatsApp and Google or Bing (sometimes better) to translate then copy and paste into WhatsApp then edit as needed. If necessary, you can copy the sender's text in Portuguese and translate it into English. You do have to edit because of shorthand which is why this is best for someone who already knows Portuguese. I have a lot of Brazilian friends and this has been the best solution I have found. When I am away from my computer, I keep texting brief and they get the point that now might not be the best time.

For those of you considering using WhatsApp to communicate with Brazilians, be forewarned that they love to text. And send GIFs and Videos and Audios of themselves and links to everything and yes, religious sayings. Remember, you have been warned.

Apologies if this is the wrong section to ask in but I can't get an answer anywhere and thought someone might know the answer.

I use whatsap to speak to ladies in Brazil. I have to highlight text come out of whatsap into google translate on my iPhone. Create an answer in google translate then cut and paste and put it into whatsap and Fre it off.

This is killing me. Does anyone else do anything different on an iPhone 7 in whatsap. Google translate is good because of the microphone part where you can talk and translate.

I can't find a decent answer anywhere and there must be someone experiencing the same problem. I speak a bit of Portuguese but not enough.

Over the past years I have rented a nice apartment from an equally nice old lady and never had any issues bringing guests home during the day or overnight. Unfortunately she has sold her place and thus I need to rent something else.

What are your experiences with AirBnb rentals? Can you bring guests at your convenience?

I am a pretty quiet guy and I do not have parties but I do live to have young ladies visiting quite frequently. These are ladies that I or my brazilian friends know, so I never have any issues with them acting out.

Airbnb is great as long as you check the house rules. I always make the booking and select two people as the number of guests. I also email host on Airbnb site and say I have various individual friends who may or may not be visiting and is this OK. That way you have an exact answer. Keep the noise down and don't cause an issue and you will be fine.

A word of caution, there is a super host on Airbnb in Rio called Monica who manages a load of properties. She is sometimes down as the co host. Do not rent a place through her whatever you do. I won't go into details but do take my advice and make sure she is not connected with your apartment in any way.

The best advice I have seen here to a similar question like this is if in doubt then ask, send them an email and find out before you rent it. Since AIRBNB is individually owned then I would imagine there is no one answer it's up to the individual owner.

For example in past years I have stayed at the Copacabana Palace hotel on non mongering trips, really sweet hotel. I recently saw it for a good price and thought it would be a great place to stay for a mongering trip, I sent an email to guest relations asking if I can have a different friend stay with me each day. They told me no that you must register the guest when you check in and that can't be changed. That's their policy whether you can bend that or not when you get there is not where I want to go. I also sent an email in past years to the Pestana hotel and asked the same question, their answer was quite different, they told me you can check in and check out guests daily and I stayed there and it was true.

Apartments are different of course, the door man is not going to prevent you from bringing a guest in at 1 AM but it also depends where the owner lives. I rent apartments too but from legacy agents that were there during the old Help days so they are conditioned to the practice, AIRBNB owners might see it differently or not even care.

When you're looking at a prospective apartment on Airbnb just look at the house rules section. It will be very clear what the deal is! Also some have electronic entrance pads you enter a code.Some will say no extra charge for additional
Guests in which case you are good to go and some will want advance copy of id from anyone staying in which case its not cool.Some specify no additional
Guests-that’s their way of saying no putas aqui por favor! Kkkk.Usually the apts in the better locations are more conservative due to maintaining reputations.

If in doubt always feel free to ask-Best Western I took a punt in ipanema one and they don't care-I had 5 girls in 9 days-only Adrianna from MC signed in as she stayed 3 days. Many other hotels are dicks about it-it's totally individual.
