It's considered a budget hotel. Cost was around $30 usd per night which is unreal. WIFI was off and on in the corner rooms but closer to elevators and lobby it was good. Very stripped down simple room nothing fancy but it was clean and good showers. At night you can hear the street dogs fighting I'm sure other sides of the hotel might be quieter. The neighborhood is safe during the day but can get sketchy at night when businesses start to close down. Close to bike Itaú station. 10 min walk away from metro and prives on Ave Rio Branco 185. Guest friendly.

You are being as clear as mud. Why would someone randomly ask you for a PCR test at the airport in Sao Paulo? Why did you need a PCR test? You could have gotten a PCR test at the airport in Sao Paulo for 250 reais.

This was for my return flight home. Usually staff at the airline will ask at check in. It's the precheck they do to confirm you are negative and have the documents to prove it.

Yes I could have done it at the airports but that would mean I arrive 4 hours early and wait for my results at the airport.

I intend to visit Rio de Janeiro for two weeks.

Is it better to rent a private apartment in Copacabana close to the beach, which will cost are $4,000 for two weeks and that will give me the opportunity to invite girls to my room for sex, or is it better to rent a bed in a hostel youth that will cost are $550 for two weeks but then will I have an extra are $3,450 to spend on the girls? You didn't mention to where you were traveling. BUT a FYI to the guys flying to the USA. You just need an antigen test which you can get at many local pharmacies with 15 min wait.

I should mention that US citizens are only required to take a rapid antigen test for entry into and departure from Brazil.

It was a life saver because we missed our first flight and our original PCR test was no longer valid. These are proctored via webcam and you'll get an email w / results after you finish the process.

There were no issues when the airlines checked my COVID results for entry and departure.

Yes, about so. I think it was like $2000 BR said and done. It was a fiasco. The worst part was the "bouncer" asked for a tip on the way out.

The facilities weren't even that nice. I liked the ambiance and rooms of 4 x4 and 65 more. Girls weren't any better either.

I biked around a lot using bike Ita. This was a great option from the metro and the bus. It's good to scope the neighborhoods from a bike. It takes about 30 min on bike from copa to Centro almost all flat and very scenic. They also have electric bikes at a higher cost.

Absolutely a great way to see Cidade Maravilhosa, and get to know the some of the famous / infamous barrios of Rio. Good on you, for taking some time outside of mongering to explore (by bike), one of the premiere cities in the world.

Yes, the Centro to Copa bicycle ride, is pretty good, fairly safe and definitely a very scenic bike trail, (ie. via Copa ― Botafogo ― Flamengo ― Centro • Santos Dumont).

Naturally there's the always, fun and fabulous, bike path in Zona Sul (ie. Leme ― Copacabana ― Ipanema ― Leblon ― Lagoa ― Jardim Botanico).

Just remember to take extra care if you're riding on the roads, as navigating Rio traffic can be very tricky and perilous.

I've returned from Rio and want to provide a first time report. I've never travelled internationally and only have limited local mongering experience, so there was a lot of first time experiences for me.

Thanks to all for the wealth of info on this site. It allowed to me to research and plan a very successful trip. I only wish I knew more Portuguese.

4 x 4 (Tuesday night).

After checking into the AirBnB and grabbing coffee, we (buddy and I) head to 4 x4 for our first ever terma experience.

We take an Uber up there (cheaper than taxi) and are greeted by a kind English speaking lady when we enter. She says there were 58 girls that night (I'm not sure I heard her right, but it was packed).

After going over process and prices, I change into a robe and grab a girl who was distracting me at the front desk.

I got mine done the last time at Pacheco. You just need a rapid test. Now, not all Pacheco do the testing. You have to ask at a location whether they do rapid testing, and, if not, then where is the nearest Pacheco that does the testing.
