Ref the price differential above, I can only think it is to dissuade punters from doing the hour. I suppose the logic is that by turning the room in 40 minutes, the girls and the house make more money (assuming that there is demand to support more 40 min sessions, which often is not the case). So they try to make the hour less attractive (more expensive) and also to make sure that if it happens, both the girl / house get some extra economics from it.

We saw the reverse situation at Samya FKK in Cologne where the girls only get 25 Euro for the 2nd 30 minutes (vs. 50 for the first 30) and therefore frequently will not accept 1 hour sessions from customers unless you are a regular.

For sure they want you to do 40 min sessions as during a day it gives the casa up to 3 hours more usage per room!

Its business -so always do an hour! Anything else makes no sense in dollars and cents or sex sense. I need an hour at least so anything less is a waste.

I had a free day and thought I'd check out the centro prives and some other scattered places that I've read about, and in the evening some of the so called Tier 2 Termas.

Took the Metro to the Carioca stop, had 'the Bubba and Sperto' list in my phone and went at it.

I started at 13 de Maio nbr 33, hit a couple apartments and really saw nothing appealing.

The problem I have with hunting in these prives in Rio is, if you don't have the suite or apt nbrs, it's kinda difficult to just go floor to floor looking for them.

Then when you actually have an apt nbr or luck into finding one, they put you in a room and you sit and wait for a presentation.

In one of the prives, I sat for 10 minutes, about got up and left, then one chubby came in and presented saying she was the only one available.

I politely excused myself.

I decided early on that this style of hunting is not my style.

All termas in the centro are CLOSED on Sunday. The large ones are closed on Saturday too. These places cater to Carioca businessmen of the Centro. If you notice, most shops on Avenida 'Rio Branco' close down Saturday at 1 pm. Centro becomes a ghost town as of 1 pm

Saturday afternoon till Monday morning is 'familia' time in Brasil.The ladies / staff need a day off too.

MC is different because it caters to foreigners.

I've hit most of the major termas in the last couple of weeks. Here are some updated prices:

1. 4x4 - R$310 for 40 minutes and R$330 for one hour, plus another R$50 for entrance. Entrance fee is waived if you session before 6 pm.

2. Cancun - R$290 for 40 minutes and R$310 for one hour, plus another R$60 for entrance which includes consumption. I think on Mondays you can use the entrance fee towards consumption or they can waive the entrance if you session with a girl and don't buy any drinks.

3. Termas 65 - R$270 for 40 minutes and R$340 for one hour, plus another R$90 for entrance. They used to have R$40 towards consumption on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays but they got rid of it at the beginning of the new year.

4. Monte Carlo - R$310 for 40 minutes and R$460 for one hour, plus another R$100 for entrance. Frequent Fuckers Club - receive free entrance after spending R$1000.

5. Solarium - R$350 for 40 minutes and R$530 for one hour, plus another R$100 for entrance.

6. Centaurus. Haven't been there lately.

Yourfriend shd take taxi to Monte carlo-cheaper and better and more of chance of CIM etc. BB sex for extra pay if that's his thing. Its a factory but less hassle than Centaurus imo. I don't go anymore but.

We take taxi from Mosaico to Malaga motel. We get business cards. Motel Malaga is key: 1) Get girls from Mosaico, or VM bars to Malaga, 2) Get freelancers at Malaga (usually less $ if you are savvy enough to session at Malaga, which is really in Zona Norte), 3) can use Malaga as "patrol base", from 20 h to 12 h (pernoite) for 100 r to walk over to Mosaico / VM, and to get girls back to Malaga. 2) The bar across the street (opposite side) from Aconchego Carioa (Bar do Frente) is quite good as well, with a great selection of domestic bottled craft beers.

All 3 options are guaranteed to make any stay based in Malaga so much better. Dinner or lunch at Aconchego is a must. If you have 2+ people get the shrimp cooked in a pumpkin, the fejoiada bolinhos, and the bolinhos of ox-tail (rabada, I think). The house-made pimenta is AMAZING.

Are there any freelancer locations left in Copa now that Balcony is closed. Will be returning to Rio next month but it seems the only places left are the Termas and MPs.

I'm about to encounter a similar hardship during my upcoming trip to Rio next week. This would be my first trip after Balcony closed. I have no clue about the present-day late night pick up options in Copacabana.
