Forget Centaurus, it is a gringo trap.

Over the years, I have tried to explain Centaurus about 10 times, so what is once more?

First, the owners and managers at Centaurus could not care less about gringos. If they depended on the gringo to survive, they would have gone out of business long ago. Second, think about US country clubs that charge high membership fees. One of the reasons they do so is to keep out the riff raff and keep their membership exclusive. Same can be said of the Japanese Geisha bars. The do not want and most times do not allow the Gaijin (gringo) to enter. Third, many Brazilian businessmen go to Centaurus on expense accounts and entertain clients there. They do not care about cost.

Back in my early and nave Rio days, I too used to rail on Centaurus and their business model. Then one day it all made sense.

What is the price charged for locals in Centaurus? I know they usually charge Gringos differently than local Brazilian dudes.

I don't participate in this type of activity and didn't intend to promote it. It was just information for those already so inclined. However, I agree that I should not have written it, since it could be misconstrued by those with hyper-sensitivity to the subject, as well it being superfluous.

If you want real cheap go to Villa Mimosa 70 reals (less than $20) for 30 mn (but as per Einstein, they fly near the speed of light so their clocks run twice faster, the customers are poor, so their way to make much money is to have many customers, not to take much money out of a few customers).

Or go to privs 90 to 130 reals ($25 to $35) for 40 mn. Their clocks are normal, but they might include preparation / waiting time. IMHO it is best value for money+effort. The only down side is that the girls are presented to you one by one, and you have to make your choice right away.

The list of privs is in the Bubba report, it is a bit old but a good proportion of them are still in operation.
