I am bored to death in the frigid North USA and I was looking at google maps. It looks like there is still a sex shop across the street from the little park up the street from Monte Carlo, Near Eden spa on Ave NS.

Before you could go in there and pay a few reals to watch the strippers on the spinning center wheel. And you could arrange to meet them later. I have no idea what is on the second floor in there now or if it is even open, but it is on the google map street view. It you are bored give it a whirl, pun intended.

You mean Miami Show Center? Sexshop downstairs and some kind of peepshow with wanker-booths on the second floor. It must be 15 years since I entered there.
I passed by, on the ouside, one week ago. I didn't pay much attention, but I think Miami Show Center is replaced by a restaurant. It could very well be that I'm wrong, please correct me.

Also, both terma Aeroporto, Av Beira Mar 216 , Centro and Terma Rio Antigo, Rua Joaquim Silva, 2 - both show up when you search for "termas" on google maps. Maybe both are still there. They were great and with the 4 to 1 USD could be great again. Also, search for Carioca de Gema (live music), a great bar in the centro area.

Puteiros charging everything between R$30-140. Paying more definitely doesn't mean you get betters girls. I hade one beautiful girl giving full excellent service for R$50.

FWIW, I thought T65 sucked. I went in for 20 minutes to see the place. I found one girl who was fairly hot, and got her number. My usual interview now is where do you live? Do you have kids? Not understanding your question or how an answer will be useful. But we know that Balcony does not have the bigger selection of girls because it does not exist. Therefore if Mabs has 1 girl then the selection is bigger or if it has 0 girls then the selection is equal. Why not go see for yourself? I doubt your decision to go to Rio hinges on whether Mabs has more girls than Balcony had. Regardless of how many there are, you go and choose from what is available.

The place is working. It looks just like a normal restaurant, not a "Balcony nr 2".
I've passed by outside Mabs a couple of times. What a boring place. Some sad gringos sitting there looking lost and a bunch of pro's that would have a hard time getting clients at VM.

Side-note: The tourist police was propably busy yesterday writing reports about gringos who got robbed during New Years Eve. There were lots of Police and Guarda Municipal on Av Atlntica, but very few of them on the beach.
During the 16 minutes of fireworks I saw arrastes and several muggings. Young guys and girls snatching cameras, mobile phones and wallets from unwary cariocas and tourists. The thieves run away, quick like rats, and hid in the crowds.
