I agree, if you want to just wear a robe, great, if not, great too. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. I don't understand why people on here seem to think their preference is the only way to do things.

I don't believe that on this subject anyone here has acted as if there's only one way to do things. Plenty here have said before that there's no one "right way" to monger. The man asked a question seeking feedback and people weighed in giving him their honest opinion on the matter. Take it or leave it. But if and when he does go to 4 x4 guess what? He's going to see that virtually every one there will be in agreement with those of us who say it's best to wear a robe to have "the full experience" versus staying in street clothes because they too will be in robes. To wear a robe is the clear majority view, not only here but within the broader termas culture itself. If somebody doesn't want to wear one and that's allowed by the establishment, then fine don't. It's just that some of us strongly believe that you're missing out on an enjoyable aspect of being there if you don't. Somebody here mentioned that one of the places would want you to wear a robe over your clothes. Didn't someone say that? Now that in my view would look pretty absurd (and make it harder for a hottie to get at your dick)!

As I've said on more than one occasion, I'm a robe guy. If you don't want it, that's fine, but if you're debating it -- get a robe. It really does enhance the whole experience, LOL. Not only would they be able to rich all parts of your body easily, but you can also visit a sauna and take shower before and after the main course. I just don't see the downside.

I think bringing your own robe is an overkill. Despite my large size, the attendants have never failed to deliver a robe that would fit me perfectly (sometimes it would take them a few minutes to find).

If you dislike the robe they hand you for whatever reason, you can ask for another one. They do want appreciate a tip from an occasional gringo.

Still want to bring your own robe? Go ahead if it tickles your fancy. This can be a nice conversation starter if you actually need one in a hoarhouse, LOL.

The girls will still grope you under the table, you can still make out and fool around with them as well. In a couple of Termas like Solarium, my favorite BTW, they want you to wear a robe over your t-shirt and jeans, but in other joints like Perola Negra customers can just wear their street clothes.

But for me it is no big deal, It is not like the RJ Termas are in any way comparable to Macau Saunas where stripping down and wearing a robe is required. I enjoy wearing a robe in Macau Saunas because it is an integral part the sauna experience. I mean if you go to one of these bordellos, you owe it to yourself to have a thigh massage and a Japanese bath performed by a pretty Vietnamese girl before you get to the main course and select a show quality girl for boom boom.

The 4 x4 robes are White, short, thin terry cloth / cotton robes like the approx sizing (of the first image) way above the knee. Now bringing your own robe ..... Well, if its full length (second image) or wearing a silk or Hugh Hefner style (third Image) or with you initials monogramed robe you may get some stares.....LOL.

Just keep it simple, if brining your own robe, Knee to slightly above Knee white cotton / terrycloth that you're comfortable in or just ask for a larger size robe.

But you got to wear the robe!

OK, I'm not going to lie. This robe thing sounds wonderful. I've never been but it sounds great. But I'm a fat ass. No one wants to see some flimsy threads hanging on for dear life around this guy. However, the more I read about 4 x4, the more interested I am. I'm guessing it would be awkward. But is it really frowned upon or even possible to bring your own robe?
Or would it be slightly less embarrassing to wear street clothes at 4 x 4.

The part that the other guys failed to mention is that nobody cares about that shit. In Brazil people are people and they do not have the hangups that some other countries may have. Go and let loose.

Who remembers the guy that used to work on Copacabana Beach back in the day that wore the sunga (Speedo) and had some big ass tumor in his nutsack? I've had threadbare, ratty robes at Monte Carlos before. I asked for a new robe and got a new robe. Added maybe 30's to the entire process of getting ready for the club. I agree with other posters, wearing a robe is part of the experience, especially when you start getting some thigh stroking during your "interviews".

The best place to find an English speaking girl will be Scandallo in SP because there are more better educated girls working there but I don't think it is that important.
