Going to Rio for first time and would like some advice, most of the posts here tend to be on termas but Where can you find amatours in Rio, is there any disco or night club in which freelancers go?
What about dating siites, was told badu is good any other? Has anyone had good or bad experiences with the amateur type?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't been to Annes Massagem or XYZen since mid March.
I heard XYZen and Annes were closed about one month ago. It seems like Annes reopened but not XYZen.

Day 1 was spent mostly on getting set up. Checking in the apartment, getting a local phone number and getting supplies. Took a bit getting my bearings. I still managed to visit star Cris and the report was previously posted. Day 2 was a total bust when I left early that morning half the stores were closed. I thought nothing of it. I went all the way from Copa to Tijuca to visit some prives there. Both Ann and XYZen was closed. Turn out it was a minor holiday and Cariocas take care their holidays seriously. XYZen though might be closed for good. The guy who works in the same building was pretty adamant that it was over. My research shows that just a few days ago XYZen had a police raid. Even their website has been taking down. Still don't know why or if you're coming back. Visited a few more places in Copa but also closed. I was pissed and ended up walking on beach to cool off. Realizing that I haven't really eaten in two days I went to those all you can eat BBQ buffets which was awesome. Checked out Mebs around midnight. As I heard a lot of washed up and unattractive 5, 6 and one 7 in a good light. Ended up having a few beers went back to my apartment and prep for tomorrow.
More to come.

Enough already.
The reason that Brazil requires a visa is very simple. Reciprocity. Since the US requires visas of their citizens, Brazil requires them for Americans.
It really is that simple.

Posts: 262A note on the Visa issue
Hi guys,
I've noticed below some comments regarding Brazilian visas and the inanity of it all. There's a lot of truth in these points I grant you, but here's another way to look at it:
There's a whole demographic of young American guys that would love to fly down to Rio for an extended weekend (or week) of debauchery, but the cost and hassle of getting the visa rules them out. They are too far away from any embassy, and they're not going to make an extra special trip in the states just to procure a visa.
Now I know people on this forum (and others like it) have complained in the past about the quality of USA Tourists that come down to Rio, but please consider the problem would be a lot worse if there were no visa hassles.
If one also considers how "tourons" can drive up P4P prices in certain parts of the world, I think the best attitude is just to swallow the visa fee without complaining too much about it. With the dollar strong, and this in-between year after World Cup and before Olympics, now's the time to enjoy a trip without having to compete with the tourons.

Can someone on ground zero confirm if it is open or shut down for good? THanks.

In Brazil there is little no opportunities. Tourist from the USA spend tons of money, putting a visa requirements hurts tourism and Brazil needs every dollar they can as there economy is in a free fall. They should make it easy for Rich foreigners. Kinda like when you go.
To Vegas, You bend the rules and treat your high rollers nice with free hotels and private jet, so they will spend money.

Buy a cheap audio player from amazon to plug into a smartphone; put a playlist with jotaquest on your smartphone; play in any session, VM, terma, freelancer in apt. Learn to lipsync jotaquest. Maybe not Better than 20 years of porto fluency, but cheaper faster and maybe as efective.
