Most girls don't speak any English at all. Those who do -- well you might want to stay away from them anyway. Aside from some exceptions that only prove the rule.

This is not limited to Brazil. South America is simply not an English-speaking continent.

But let's say you do speak a tiny little bit of Porto. Well, that might work for prives and escort girls, but it's super-hard to communicate in most environments like boates and termas. Just add this insanely loud music to your conversation and your Pimsleur or Duolingo Porto goes down the shitter real fast. Keep in mind that saying things in a foreign language is easier than hearing what you're told.

I am Americano but speak pretty good girl enthusiast level Portuguese. I took about 60 hours online just because I love Brasileiras so much. And it truly enhances things. And my colleagues are so impressed. If only they knew why. LOL.

That said you will be fine with google translate. My buddy Mark doesn't speak a lick and managed to get along just fine. Some girls speak some esp at Scandallo. But many don't. Just make sure to download the language to your phone in case internet is spotty.

Can only state my experience. Numerous flames wars about languages and a single word senhor.

I speak some street Dominican Spanish. So basic street PortoSpanglish is enough. Before trips, Duolingo works as a good refresher for me. My garotas have very little English but I prefer it when there are relaxed sexy conversations in Portuguese half-street Spanish.

Plenty of guys use Google Translate in Termas and in Scandallo to get their Garotas. No problem there.

2. Buy a TIM sim card and activate it using the English line which you can only access via Portuguese menu (because Brazil). I think it is along the lines of dialing *144 then pressing 3 to activate and then 3 again for the English line. They ask you for your passport number, expiry date, name and city. It doesn't matter if you give them fake info for all of this. I looked at my activation data for one of my sim cards and the completely mangled both my name and passport number but my phone worked fine.

Recharging is also a pain and I found it to be best done via drsim online even with the annoying fee tagged on top of the recharge.

I just got one from the airport from a guy that said hey gringo gringo chip chip paid 200 reais, I know its a rip off but I got internet as soon as I landed in Rio, then regular top up at pharmacy.

I purchased TIM and Vivo SIM chip cards from the street vendor in front of Teatro Riachuelo Rio. Could not get the e-SIM process to work on the iPhone. Next time I will figure it out.

There are two things I try to tell members.

Keep a lower expectation of Scandallo and be prepared to be surprised. Some other members and I were so excited to go together the first time and ended up being disappointed. LOL. That was when a session was 500. As time went on, I see a more complete picture. There are good days and bad days. Some just think it is an either or situation.

The second is to take all posts into account and form your own opinion based on which poster's style match yours and put more weight on those posts. My observation is if you are a business traveler, and company pays for the trip, and you visit occasionally, you will most likely love Scandallo. That is how it works most of the time, probably not country specific. I use this example, because it is easily understood.

Just recently that some agreed to this but there are posts saying otherwise. One needs to take both opinions into consideration based on the posters' style.

First to clarify I have never seen a ten in Scandallo. In fact I've only run across two in my long life. One a Seeking Arrangement chick in Madrid and one at Casarao recently. That's it. Lifetime. Two tens....

I have also posted that it's the service and reliability of Scandallo that stands out after going to different boats in different parts of Brazil.
