OMG! I was shocked to see the exchange rate which is 2.83 against a US $. Whoever is in Brazil right now is super lucky. My only hope is that Termas and Centro casas doesn't raise the prices as I'm planning to travel to Rio next month. It's hard to stay away from Brazil with an awesome exchange rate like this.

8 bedroom house in Rio? Each room with a private bathroom? Not going to happen. Just reserve 8 rooms at the Atlantico Hotel, don't waste your time and energy. You will have enough headaches trying to rally 8 guys into making plans as a group once you arrive in Brazil.

Looking for housing in June that is guest friendly. We will need accommodations for 6 to 8 guys with guest privileges. One or two accommodations with all queen to king beds and preferably a bathroom with each room. Suggestions on best locations and specific apartments / houses are welcome. Very good security a must. Our first time in RIO. I am scanning the boards but housing is key. We will have time to gather Intel later but need to secure housing now or soon. All help appreciated. We are regulars (2 X per year) mongers. But want to do as much research in advance to insure a great time. Would like advice on pluses and minuses of different locality.

I guess part of my disappointment was related to reading this on Hotforum: "A garota é bonita, andão parece brasileira, muito menos carioca. " So I was sort of expecting a more European looking Brazilian, like Luciana that I saw at Miruna in SP (post forthcoming).
