Are Solarium and Monte Carlo still affiliated? Does that mean MC has similar pricing?

So the R340-R380 all-in pricing is only for the Termas in Centro like 4 x4, 65 and Cancun? And maybe a tiny bit less at 502?

The same owner operates both termas but different policies, how it happens, it beats me. Just another confusion from brazil.

From different pricing stuctures to garotas policies. I remember my favorite girl had to switch because in Solarium, girls are not allowed to drink alcohol or beer while monte carlo allows them. I had 1 (one) agua com gas in the boate. I'd guess it maybe cost BRL $7 or something So if you deduct that from the total cost you have the room + the girl being just under BRL $500. Crazy right? I used to laugh when the Cafe Foto girls asked for this price. Now Rio is really becoming too expensive to enjoy Termas, at least in Zona Sul.

i remember these termas charge you more money for the 40 mins room vs the 60 mins 'suite'. eric, can you breakdown your 550 r bill for us? if you did not use the coupon are you saying a 60 min session would be 600 r? entrance + room rental + session with girl? the entrance fee does not go towards consumption like places in sao paulo, correct? one has to pay from drink #1.

none of the price or entrada went to consumption -- sometimes they run coupons that do that, but not this time. the room was the standard cabine but had a shower/toilet combo room in the back. afaik the standard cabines don't have that. i guess it comes with the 1hr purchase. it wasn't their full-on suite.

and to all you people saying "avoid the tourist traps" -- well duh! i mentioned my friend was in town, it was a saturday night, we'd already struck out at mc, and he wanted to go to a nice terma. outside of getting ass-raped at centaurus, solarium was the only option. it's not like i was going to haul him out to mosaico or head to barra to paris cafe or something ...

i hadn't set foot in solarium for over 1 year before this. i figured i'd take it on the chin as a learning experience and report back here for everyone to know current pricing etc.

Centaurus is always amusing but not worth the price. Many Bairros have local termas with top ghetto talent for cheap. Explore fellow degenerates-don't fall into tourist trap repeatedly.

Not sure if it's really 36 years, but the coupon is valid. I went there last night with a friend who is visiting and wanted to see the sights. We started off at MC but the talent level was *very* low. Probably a combination of Saturday (always slow) and what had been a sunny day (sun = girls at beach = they drink and relax and don't go work at night). Lots of big asses and thights, not my type.

Solarium's entrada is now BRL $100 but it fell to BRL $50 with the coupon. All in price for 1 hr including entrada was BRL $550 I believe. Absurd. Like centaurus prices. Plus you have the added cost of the $20+ taxi each way. They've done a remodel downstairs, I think like a year ago according to a guy I chatted with. The bathroom is actually WAY nicer now with tiles and new showers, though the showers don't have doors so everyone can see you cleaning off your moneymaker LOL. There also is a couch rest area in a small room downstairs. I think they remodeled some of the cabines as well. Mine (the 1 hr rooms) had a shower / toilet combo in the back that looked new. Although it only had scalding hot water from the shower or freezing cold from the "bum gun" in the toilet. LOL. Brazil.

That said, almost all the girls were white / mix Brazilians, no mulattas (nearly), and 1 black girl. So if that's your thing. For me, the pricing is absurd and the quality is just not what it was. Better to hunt in the Centro T's and privees. The Sao Paulo clinicas have way better talent at cheaper prices too.

I was there two saturdays ago. I have visited this place on and off for 11 yrs now. There are some decent looking women in there. However, they are not on par with the prices. I am not refering to service, more about appearances. I beleive that some of the hotest babes are in Europe, and they have no intrest in being in Rio during Brazil's winter. I paid for entrance, had a couple of drinks while catching up with an old flame, and then headed out. I didn't partake in any cabina action.

As for Solarium, over priced as well. I always had the luxury of taking a gal back the cabina or not. However, prices are so out of hand, better off getting their phone number, and setting something up outside.

Going to be interesting to see if one day the economy hits the crapper, and see if and how they adjust their prices. At soem point they have to price themselves out of the game. Time will tell.

I stayed and Rio for 3 nights, thanks to this report, I had a heads up start, sense 8 stayed in Copacapana, Monte was convenient, you pay 380 all in, including 40 minutes with a girl, you can pay more for more time, the girls were as described in this report, around 25, half were 5 to 6 remaining were 6 to 7, I guess 5 were 7 to 8 and occasionally a solid 8 will appear. The mode was relaxed, girls were not pushy. But once you want to talk they are committed, they give the attention you want, you can flirt around until you make your pick, in the room they show you how they like their job which reminded me of why I come to Brazil, may be I was lucky, also I like the fact that this is not a tourist trap, yiu get what you pay for, they explain to you how it works and this is exactly how it works, I particularly liked the fact that the manager wanted to confirm if I want to upgrade to an hour from 40 minutes which was somthing the girl asked me to do nicely and I couldn't sat no to those pretty eyes, when he came to confirm I got back to my normal state of mind and reverted back to 40 minutes.

Over all I give the place 9 out of 10 on value for money.

Next night I went to Termas Centaurus, knowing that it is more expensive, but wanted to try the upper end girls. The place has a much better setup, the girls where may be 30 the bar area was at least 2 times bigger than Monte, girls were more pushy than monte, girls were 7 to 8 and few 6, I guess also few nines, the girls were irresistible, but the price was a round 250 more than monte, I liked the place so much that I took 2 girls, again, the sex was unbeatable, this is Brazil after all.

I cave Termas Centaurus 8. 5 on value for money.

My 3rd night I went to Monte again, only because Centaurus was far from.

I never understand why the agency girls are so much cheaper when it is the same girls that are on the freelance sites for 250/ h. For your firsr time in Rio, don't go during Carneval or New Years. I went to Carneval and alot of the spots were closed or had ver few girls. We goto well known spots and alot of local spots and it was the same. We knew our way around so it wasnt too bad. We went a week before Carneval and stayed for Carneval.

If I was you I would do Carneval or New Years on your 3rd or 4th trip. By then you should be able to navigate the city better.

Mondays in general are also slow-MC is an exception in Copa.
