I have visited the Balcony Bar the other day, for the first time. I had no interest in any of the ladies there, I can't even say "girls" because some of them were old. If I go during New Year or Carnaval, will mongering experience be more expensive? Or is it better to go during non-festival time for mongering? What do you guys recommend?

Been back home for 2 weeks now. Sorry the delay. But took me quite a while adjusting back from what I consider one of a trips of a lifetime, and a country that I could well see myself have some more permanent plans for.

Short-Conclusion For Mongerers:

Overall Brazil is a great place for a mongerer. However, I don't think it lives up to its hype in terms of both quality, variety of options, although they generally live close to the hype in terms of performance. I would still strongly recommend to a mongerer Morocco if you want top class performance and are into brown / caramel sugar. Thai / Phili if you into Asians and Ukraine / Hungary if you into whites. Germany deserves an honorable mention for having the best mongering venues and options I have experienced as well. Moreover, by exploring the above options not only you would get better quality, but you could end up saving a considerable amount of money as well. Hell, even mongering in Germany can be considerably cheaper than Rio at least.

Niteroi:

Arrived on the 11th with my group, we got corporate sponsoring for the WC final, only to be informed that our reservation for Mercure Hotel in Rio was cancelled 2 days prior to arrival. Some BS about the Brazilian government needing some rooms for a political convoy and our sponsors not being able to find anything in Rio in the short notice. We stayed in a run-down hotel kind of, 3 stars in Brazilian standards and 2 stars elsewhere standards. I was kind of fuming at my cousins, since I was strongly pushing for me setting us up with an apartment instead of a hotel to begin with, but my cousins weren't having any of it. They high rollers and are used to hotels, especially in a country they never been to, nor can speak it's language. Spent three nights in Niteroi until the WC frenzy settled down and options were readily available for us to move to Rio. Haven't done much of note in those days. Checked out the underwhelming night life seen, which leaves not much to report. Checked out the mall several times, and there were quite a few beauties working there that were kind of beging to get picked up, but I was mostly in exploration mode at the time and wasn't willing to limit my options by risking some kind of attachement as of yet by hooking up with GG.

Checked out a Termas over there. Can't remember it's name and tried googling it, with no luck. Maybe some member can suggest some names and I would remember it then? Checked out two to be exact, they were only a few hundred meters away from each other in a not so pleasant neighberhood (got warned by hotel reception when I tried going there at 10:00 pm). Went the first time at around 6 pm, no answer in the first venue. Second venue some dude responded and I later understood from him that they open at 8 pm onwards. Went back there the next day at around 10. Place was quite ghetto as is the neighberhood. I didn't mind either. What I did mind though is that there was only a SINGLE girl working at the night and she wasn't that attractive either. Given that I was horney and at a lack of viable options, I tried her out. Performance was decent, even good actually with lots of DFK and a pretty decent BBBJ. Took her for an hour and ended up paying 250 for an hour (I'm sure I was hansomely premium charged, given I was clearly a fresh off the boat gringo that didn't speak neither Portugese nor Spanish even and the place was shady to say the least). We finally moved to Rio a few days later. One of my cousins had a Brazillian hot blondie friend he met a few years ago in an ESL school in Canada (English as Secondary Language). The girl lives in Rio but moved to Sao Paulo to take care of her ill grandmother. Half Brazilian half Italian. Quite gorgeous. She visited and brought 3 of her friends. Mostly ranging from above average to gorgeous. Sadly I didn't even get to meet them. I caught me a nasty bug and was confined to bed for 4 days shaking with fever. 3 days later I seemed to transfer it to my first cousin who got the same and then the second cousin too lool! So that's mostly 3-4 days for us each that was just out the window from the trip totally and maybe 2 more days that we were kind of functioning at 50%! One of them hooked us up with a hotel reservation to Hotel Atlentico Rio at Rua Xavier the Silveira! I was skeptical at first, by what I read here about the hotels being not green more often than not. To my pleasant surprise, it seemed the girl knew what was up LOL. The hotel is highly recommended by me, reasonably priced and well kept 3-4 stars and was as green as anyone could wish for. I remember more than one occasion I was walking down my corridor only to hear a girl (probably GSP) getting pounded heavily and screaming in the middle of the night from one of the rooms nearby! Furthermore, if you book as double occupancy as suggested in many reports in here you would not be charged for visitors. However, if you don't expect to have an extra 100 charged to your room per stay.

Yes, I almost forgot while at Niteroi we were partying at Rio one night and I lost my crew being [CodeWord140] drunk and somehow found myself in Centaurus Termas. Was a horrible experience and I would not recommend that overpriced and underdelivering shithole to anyone. Stay away at any cost, you have been warned!

After the horrible Centaurus experience I decided it was about time to checkout what many on here consider the best bang for the buck "official" venue in Rio. Checked it out on a Thursday early evening. I was yet again underwhelmed. I guess having experienced the venues in Germany and Europe, it was to be expected. However, I would have expected a "Sauna" to have at least some minimal relaxation elements. Place was overly crowded (with the wrong sex gender!) Ameneties found wanting, and girls were overall above average although you would be hard pressed to find many if any stunners. You would generally not feel too comfortable to stay extended periods in the place (which contradicts the whole concept of it being a Sauna imo, which they don't seem to get in Brazil). The only place you might feel semi relaxed in is the smoking room and that clearly might not be the best option for non-smokers at least.

The girls are generally standing still in the main bar-room, patrons are sat along the walls (the lucky ones finding a seat) and found standing rubbing shoulders with each other as well. Standard procedure is you make eye contact with a girl / wave to her or approach her and discuss terms. From what I have seen, generally there isn't much pre-action going on prior to heading to a room for a session. What you mostly see is some regulars chatting up their favorite girl / girls in the smoking room or lesser crowded areas and that is all.

Talked to a few girls, and settled on a brown sugar beauty that seemed to have a decent attitude, later learned she was a favela girl and has been living in Spain for past few years and only came back for a month or two to visit (google translate is a mongerer best friend), skinny very young looking, couldn't believe she was 29 year old Looked at least a couple of years younger. Are you sure this building is still in operation? Haven't been there since BEFORE they announced that the World Cup was coming to Brazil (August 2011). My friend who used to wing for me there is no longer actively mongering so I have had no reports about this building. I had some nice sessions there for as little as R1 per min.

I am sorry that this is my first post, because it does not add much value. I have no experience in Rio, except with a non-pro in a hostel in Botafogo a few years ago. I have experience in Belo Horizonte, Brazil (Rua Guaicurus), and I can write a little report there. But I will be in Rio next month, and I did investigate (online) this place in Niteroi. My online search suggested that there was a police crack-down, and I don't know if the operation is still in full swing. Or even if it is operational at all.

I am interested in the termas and places like Bel Prazer, etc. , etc , and would love to get the input from those with experience on what they would recommend for someone who is inexperienced in Rio.

If your are looking for a cheap place, take the barca to Niteroi, then straight ahead avenue General Peixodo, walk a few blocks and on the left, next to a bank or a casa de depositos (I do not remember the number), go up the stairs, there are at least 100 rooms, knock the doors and see if a girl fits you.

I once find a real gem there, early 20's, tall, slim with curves, GFE and sweet, $50 for 30 minutes all inclusive. And when I came back to see her again, she recognized me and seemed to be very happy! What a gem!
