I was there two saturdays ago. I have visited this place on and off for 11 yrs now. There are some decent looking women in there. However, they are not on par with the prices. I am not refering to service, more about appearances. I beleive that some of the hotest babes are in Europe, and they have no intrest in being in Rio during Brazil's winter. I paid for entrance, had a couple of drinks while catching up with an old flame, and then headed out. I didn't partake in any cabina action.

As for Solarium, over priced as well. I always had the luxury of taking a gal back the cabina or not. However, prices are so out of hand, better off getting their phone number, and setting something up outside.

Going to be interesting to see if one day the economy hits the crapper, and see if and how they adjust their prices. At soem point they have to price themselves out of the game. Time will tell.

Well, now this is a disappointing report. I mean, what exactly do we mean by "prices getting out of hand"? Is 400 reias a lot of money? About $175 USD, yes? Is that a lot? I don't think so. Come on now. Pay them their fucking money, and write a fucking report. $175 USD is not a lot of money. Get a clue.

Well, I will try to visit two places, but oddly enough, 4 x 4 might not be one of them! But I think I can write up both MC and T 65! The thing that I find off-putting about 4 x 4 is that Bubba Boy has described it as somewhat "gangsta", and by that he means tattoos and such. (He might also mean mulattas and morenas, which, for me, is unattractive.).

I should comment a bit as a newbie. I have read the posts, and they are mostly from highly experienced mongers. To most experienced mongers who read these boards, it is probably just another day at the office. No big deal. But I should point out, that when a newbie chances across these boards, it is absolutely shocking (at first). It is hard to believe that certain people have such a "commitment" to the hobby! I am not judging at all, but please realize that it is quite astonishing for someone new to come across all this stuff! The most shocking thing is to come across this type of stuff by Patmar Beleza and Ibn Buttita, on page 106 of this Rio reports forum, but I do realize it is just part of getting used to this very special culture here! I just can not believe the strong level of commitment that I read about on pages 106 and 107, especially by Ibn Buttita. It just seemed like he put so much effort into pre-trip research and post-trip writing, and, of course, the extreme effort he put in during the trip itself, that I was just blown away! I do hope that I can achieve that level of commitment in the future, but I believe those who do so are very rare and special!

I enjoyed looking at the pamphlet -- I found it funny the way the termas were described! Nice flowery terms, haha! A first-time visitor to Rio might be a confused by all the "spa-talk" and assume that they are legitimate spas! The sex part of it is so strongly downplayed.

On to more current and accurate descriptions of the termas. In Bubba Boy's guide to Rio, I became interested in Termas 65 for next Monday. I'm only in town for next weekend, plus Monday, but Termas 65 was written about in a way that made it sound like a good place to go on a Monday. I have never been to a termas before, so this would be my first visit to one. I guess I could go to MC on Sunday, too, which would make that my first termas visit. Do you guys have any opinions on T 65? Comparisons / constrasts between T 65 and 4 x 4 and MC?

I have read the recent stuff on Solarium, Centaurus, MC, and 4 x 4, but haven't seen anything about T 65. Any thoughts / opinions?

Attached is picture of a pamphlet they handed out at the airport when you landed in the 80's. It contained a lot of useful stuff like hotels, restaurants, tours, shops, maps and termas advertisements as well as escorts. I saved a couple of them through the years.

Prices for the centro termas are going up also. As of now, entrance to 4 X4 is are $50. One hour suite is are $300.40 minute session is are $280. Entrance is still waived if you take a girl before 6 pm. So for a one hour session, the total comes to are $300-350 + consumption. And there is incessant requests for tips, from the ladies booking the rooms, cleaning staff, front desk, doorman.

Interestingly, the new hours start at 11 am. There are many signs in the terma.

Glad I went a few months before the World Cup. Unless the economy dives, we will probably have to wait until after the Olympics before rates to come down to reality.

Jesus Christ Rio Bob! These are like the lost artifacts of the Rio mongering scene. I can almost picture Indiana Jones stumbling upon these in some musty apartment somewhere, and being misty eyed about it. Some day someone will write a history of the Rio mongering scene, perhaps after combing through ISG archives and interviewing those pioneers like yourselves and others on this board.

Good to see that RioBob is alive and kicking. I remember those pamphlets and also the brochures with Rio guides. They had lots of ads from the termas.
It was a time when Rio de Janeiro wasn't ashamed of being a destination for sex tourism. Help was the largest wh*re-house in the world and Meia Pataca, La Maison, Mabs etc had lots of GPs waiting for gringos.
Today they have even censored the postcards with bikini girls.

Rio DE JANEIRO (AP) -- Brazil's economy, once an emerging-market darling, fell into recession, according to government data released Friday, as millions of new middle class citizens tightened their belts and further dampened a credit-driven spending spree.

The results are a blow to President Dilma Rousseff, who faces an increasingly tough reelection in October. A new poll released late Friday showed her biggest rival pulling into a dead heat with her in a first-round vote. And is 10 percentage points ahead of the Rousseff in an expected runoff ballot.

The government's statistics bureau reported that gross domestic product dropped 0.6 percent in the second quarter, in large part because of soft consumer spending. First-quarter results also were revised downward from 0.2 percent growth to a 0.2 percent drop, showing a two-quarter slide that most economists use to define a recession.

So the R340-R380 all-in pricing is only for the Termas in Centro like 4 x4, 65 and Cancun? And maybe a tiny bit less at 502?

The same owner operates both termas but different policies, how it happens, it beats me. Just another confusion from brazil.

From different pricing stuctures to garotas policies. I remember my favorite girl had to switch because in Solarium, girls are not allowed to drink alcohol or beer while monte carlo allows them. Solarium wants their girls sober and sexy rather than trash and tipsy. Again, policies may change now. Who knows.

Yeh it was a coupon for BRL $50 off the entrance so the entrance would have been BRL $100 (without the coupon and the total would have been BRL $600.

I had 1 (one) agua com gas in the boate. I'd guess it maybe cost BRL $7 or something So if you deduct that from the total cost you have the room + the girl being just under BRL $500. Crazy right? I used to laugh when the Cafe Foto girls asked for this price. Now Rio is really becoming too expensive to enjoy Termas, at least in Zona Sul.
