Hello all!

I am planning to go to Rio / Brazil in the next few months, and am wondering whether to hold off until the World Cup or not. Been following the news alot, and it seems like there are a lot of protests. Also, there is a lot of suspicion that the country won't be ready, and that things like transportation and safety will break down. All this not to mention the inevitable price hikes.

Anyone here experienced with eyes on the ground have a good feel for what it will be like? If it will be too chaotic and expensive, may just opt to go earlier, like the end of April, and enjoy the the type "entertainment" available year round!

Yes, they are a tad chunky, many look like they could start for the All Blacks! But, Sperto probably has weeded out this list to a great small basket of fish. There is a learning curve for sure, so I hope people appreciate all this hard earned information. It does not come cheap.
