I'm with you on almost everything except hotels, but have you checked business class fares to Rio lately? It's between $6 K-10 K rt. I mean, that's a lot of sessions, not even mentioning hotel rooms

Business class fares like any fares vary, I'm looking at business class fares now for a future trip but it's long time away and from NY to gig it's $3,480. I usually only fly business class to Rio for the general service, comfort and lie flat seats. The food is better than coach but still sucks. Last year I got a first class seat to Brazil using miles at a great rate, the food was not much better and the seats were the same. During the covid years they had great deals using miles now they want too much miles, it's not worth it. It can blow the budget especially you're spending big part of your budget just for 10 hours of luxury when you can use that extra money on your 2 week trip. But I hate coach for such a long flight and I'm very spoiled having worked for the airlines many years ago and flying to Rio always first class which in those days was much different level than today. Life is short, live it up, buy the business class ticket, stretch out and enjoy yourself.

Def cheaper in RIO for me. I'm mostly getting girls over 90% of the time from the working girl night clubs (not strip clubs, not termas, not brothels, etc) In Rio I got girls this trip between Casablanca, Dolce Vita, and Marrakesh night clubs. In Cartagena I get them from La Dolce vita, Space, Delrium. So I would say that's a pretty perfect level playing field for price comparison. Between the 100's+ girls me and my boys must have gotten from Cartagena, we have always paid between 600-900 local currency for 5-6 hours (between midnight and 5 am- this is the fixed routine with my boys) We did the exact same routine in Rio and also paid between 600-900 local currency for the 30+ girls we got. But, Brazil money converts at 5/1 and Colombian pesos coverts at 4/1 (and Colombia used to be only 3/1 pre covid, and 2/1 when I first went in 2014).

So I definitely found Brazil cheaper, statistically I would say 25% cheaper based on the average numbers. This is strictly speaking for Cartagena and Medellin vs Rio, and working girl night clubs for take out. Not smaller towns, streetwalkers, websites/social media, strip clubs etc.

P.S.- Cartagena has been ruined by tourists (prolly myself included) over the past 5 years dramatically. Girls so stuck up (with shitty service) now they even quote you in USD dollars, in increments of 100's LOL. FK that. It doesn't look like Brazil has gotten there, not yet at least.

Bruh if you are regularly paying between $600-900 k in Cartagena you are fucking up the game big time. I take girls out the clubs there for $300-350ST, $450-500 LT. NYC to GIG is 4,826 miles, which at 600 MPH is 8. 10 hours, and Europe to Rio 5,300, so figure 9 hours, but because aircraft have to climb / slow down, this adds time. However you look at it, a typic trip is 20 hours return plus ground transport and officialdom bullshit and / or lost / delayed bags (use a tracking tile. You have about a 5% chance of delay or problem depending on airline). Premium economy or business class is a very costly delta, and though I can afford it, it grates on me to pay so much knowing the savings could fatten my portfolio or be used to have a nicer hotel or lesbian duo four hand massage and other fun I can join in when I land. Picturing this scene in my mind on the plane puts a spring in my step and swelling of loins. So do the boutique restaurants in Rio and Sao Paulo. I usually buy bustickets online using my CPF. If you buy the ticket on the bus company's website there will be no extra fee. However if you buy the ticket on other sites, like Clickbus and Queropassagem, they will add a fee. If you want to buy the ticket in advance it's often cheaper (depending on which city you are located) to take an Uber back and forth to the Rodoviaria than paying the Clickbus fee.

There are also agencies that sell bustickets. In Copacabana there are Guanatur on Rua Dias the Rocha 16 and Sami Tour on Av Nossa Sra de Copacabana 1022. They do charge a fee but you don't have to go to the Rodoviaria to buy your ticket and no CPF is needed.

Leito is the most comfortable, but I prefer Executivo. Executivo is much cheaper and the comfort is really good.

Some online bus sites won't accept foreign credit / debit cards as well.

Only brazilian cards.

So always good to double check.

If all else fails definitely just go to the bus station and buy the tickets.

The difference between leito and executivo is like 50 BRL or something like that so really worth the extra 10 USD for the best comfort.

It really depends on the airline. On some carriers paying for premium economy is not worth it, while on others it absolutely is, like with EVA Air:

I rode them in business, and it's a cut above Cathay Pacific business, which itself is quite good. I also read in your article that EVA's recline in PE is 120 degrees. That's insane! I don't know exactly what American recline is, but I can bet that it's just a few degrees over Economy. So, yes, it seems like EVA PE is in a class of its own.

That said, even a lousy PE product (like AA) is way better than economy. The leg rests help a lot. It's ridiculous how much they actually help to alleviate the pressure on your body. So it can be a viable alternative when not priced out of wack.
