Is this a regular account that you have connected to a credit card? How much data do you get? This might work as I can store the eSIM in my phone and just turn it on when I land in Rio.

Daytime and nighttime action in Barra, where?

    Hi guys,

I am a regular Rio monger but I have always been in Copa to date. Now I will be in Barra for some weeks and I am wondering what is the best place there to pick up girls during the day? Since I am on European time zone I will be most horny in the morning and early afternoon).

And for the night: is it all termas or massage parlours or is there a similar place like Mabs?

    Thanks guys for any hints!

Are you carrying a burner that has a physical sim so that you can add a sim later upon arrival into Rio? If you have a phone that has one physical and one eSIM, then I assume you just swap out your original sim for the new one for Brazil.

Since my phone has two esims, I tried to get my friend to get me a prepaid eSIM (using his cpf) for Brazil but it works out to be too expensive for a just a few days of use. Easier to buy an eSIM online with 5 GB of download for the time I spent there.

    Atm ymmv

I think I see why there is a your mile may vary when it come to ATM. With Wise and Revolut, I guess it depend on your home country, your fee may be different from my. I'm in the US. As for if your ATM will work or not, something have changed last year with Brazilian banking system. My guess is you are no long able to get money from a bank ATM with Visa card. I went to both Visa and Mastercard website, and search their ATM locator. I search for Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. There one or two Bank ATM with Visa. Where as for Mastercard there is alot of bank ATM. Maybe the reason why Revolut did not work for me was my card was a Visa card.

    https://www.visa.com/locator/atm

    https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/pers...arest-atm.html

Any on my next trip I will bring both card from different banks, and will report back. But with a country like Brazil, thing changes from one day to the next.

Senor xpartan, I enjoyed meeting you and to the point for a ISG friend I might just take you a registered chip which I as find is a in demand item and for 50 r at central one can get 5. We had a caiprihinha at barra posto 2 in front of at classicobeachclub where we discussed life in moscow vc nyc if I recall. A good spot to swim as the currents are never strong and the water is clean.

My ask is a tmobile chip that I can register with a phone call or another chip. Or we can discuss by PM, a few items from amazon in the good old EUA, like some phone cases which even after a few years break apart.

Getting a sim card at either mall can take 1-2 hours depending on the crowds and TIM employee's level of ignorance, but you'll get it guaranteed.

Now Uruguaina. Commuting from Barra simply for a Sim card is just ridiculous. The trip from Hilton (if that's my first stop) is doable and will take 1-1. 5 hours RT depending on the traffic.

Of course, if you're going to Centro anyway for an architectural tour of its downtown buildings with their magnificent antique elevator systems, that's another matter entirely. The old, lazy me, however, balks at the prospect of long commutes on his first day in Rio after the 10-15 HR redeye. I'd rather take it easy -- with my phone fully functional.

    Zohan out.

Why? I use Schwab. Don't remember any issues with bad exchange rate, but I don't always pay attention.

You are right about the default low daily and monthly allowance. It can't even cover a monthly rent. I mostly use it as a buffer and for safety.

The answer is no. You need it to enter Colombia if you depart from Brazil.

Here is excerpt of relevant section from bubba boys guide which I have been updating with friends from ISG. Join our whatsapp group for latest updates. Message me, nounce, michaelsamuel to be added to whatsapp group. Bring your blood test and / or get one here in rio. I can pass you the mobile draw doc that the termas use so your test will be in porto.

The sceening process / How to Get Bareback in Rio:

It is very important to get a good feeling with a girl. I always ask the following questions and listen to the response. I ask the questions with a smile and try to make her laugh a bit; if she thinks you are fun she will usually reciprocate.

    My (BB's) questions:

    1) Are you good in bed? She will of course say she is the best. This is the icebreaker, a chance for her to relax and loosen up.

    2) Why are you the best? What do you do? This is a more serious question, hopefully she will offer up exactly what she will be like in the sack. I will let her answer a bit, and if she doesn't offer up what I want to hear I will then directly ask.

    3) Do you do everything? Again I will let her speak and watch very carefully for the response. If she says she does do anal, I will then ask if she likes it and carefully watch for her answer, if she says she really likes it and smiles, well then I am thinking you are going to have a good time.

The above 3 questions will give her a chance to tell you what she likes and what she doesn't like. Usually the above the questions are enough to get her to say whether she does anal or not, without you having to explicitly ask. If she hasn't offered whether she does it or not then I will then explicitly ask. The way she answers is more important than what she actually says. If she says, "I do anal but it depends on how big your are", well that is a red flag, more than likely she doesn't want to do it (and when you get to that point in the room, she will say "Your dick is too big! Again if you have a fetish for CIM and she says "I will let you do it if you only have a very clean dick", again a red flag, good chance she is going to turn her head away during the money shot. On the other hand if she says "I will do everything you want, baby" and says it with a smile, then sticks her tongue down your throat, then that is a very positive thing and you are probably in for some serious fun.

    VB's questions:

Vc ten filhos? Do you have kids? The correct answer is no because it is easier to get her for pernoite. Pernoite is my plan because my pro forma week is pernoite 3-4 times, for sex daily (sometimes I take Saturday's off with Temple, and to drill with the Swiss consulate active duty Naval Infantry).

Onde vc mora? Where do you live? The correct answer is not a favela because I want to be able to visit her. For example, Meier is not a favela, and actually a middle class 'hood where it is safe, near North Shopping, and easily accessible by bus 457 from Copa. You as a man want a relationship with a woman who you can fuck and shit shower shave supper and sleep at her place because it is more intimate, and you want more intimate sex as it is better sex. But I do not want to go to a outright favela.

Vc transa sem camisinha? Sou limpio. Do you fuck (vaginally) without condom. I am clean. I want to BBFSCIP or BBFSCIA (cum in ass, which may be preferable for birth control, as pregnancy is the ultimate STD). Yes, get tested, get her tested (tier 1 termas test, that is part of what you are paying for, so do tier 1 prives, again, the clientele is paying for a clean girl). I want it raw. If you use condoms, I recommend the local brand, SKYN.

Eu posso gozar no seu boca? If you can't fuck her pussy bare, cum in her mouth. Rio is for the aggressive. I've been at swings where I just go up to a **** and shove my dick in her mouth while she is getting assfucked, and cum in her throat, never even know her name could never find the **** again if my life depended on it, but she swallowed like a good ****.

I will also look for negative signs, including;.

If the first thing a girl asks is "buy me a drink" I will be immediately on the defensive; if she is anything less than smoking hot she will be dumped immediately. Yeah I want to buy a girl a drink, but only after a few questions and only after I have decided there is a good chance I am going to take her to the cabine.

If when offered a drink, the girl tries to order the most fucking expensive thing on the menu, then that is a huge negative thing. I will always ask, "what would you like to drink", I will order for her. Doing this shows you are not an easy target. Red Bull and a mixed drink together from a girl I have just met, are $ 25-50+, is taking the piss. On the other hand an ex "Brazilian girlfriend", ordered just that when we met, I was with a buddy and he was with her friend, what saved her was the following – she says "I know red bulls and vodka are expensive, but if you buy one red bull, we can order 2 vodkas separately (between the 2 girls) and that will be a little cheaper. " I don't mind buying an "expensive drink" for a girl, I can afford it. I just don't like the idea of being taken for a mug. There were also a few other positive things which led us to relax a little, we knew we were going to have a good time with those 2; sometimes everything just clicks and it did!

No kissing with tongue before going to the cabine: Just before I go to the cabine I will make sure she kisses passionately, I don't particularly want to kiss a girl with tongue in the main Boate, but I do want to know if she is passionate. If she does not use tongue it is a sign she is not going to be passionate -- a big enough negative to ditch her in some cases. In the cheaper places they won't kiss passionately in the Boate, they are used to Brazilian guys that will kick a lot of tyres first. Once they know you are serious, they will be a lot more liberal.

Additionally: I always make sure you get a good look at the girl. Sometimes lighting can be a bit ordinary. Sometimes a girl looks completely different when sitting down, particularly in Brazil, when you really need to look at the complete package while standing. Another friend of mine was sitting with a girl, and she did look cute. When he decided to take her to the room, she gets up and says, "So, you like a girl with a big ass, do you?" . . . To his horror he looked down and saw a massive Bunda (ass). This catch phrase has become part of our vocabulary, as in when a friend says, "what do you think of this babe?" to which you reply, "so, you like a girl with a big ass?" (I. E. , her ass is a bit on the heavy side).

    Decline Conversion

Then the local bank charges a fee of 24 reias, for being a foreign card. None of this gets refunded like my Schwab bank card did. However, that one got stolen / lost (its a bit of a mystery still) on the beach in Floripa and I have had to use the Cap 1 Venture credit card as backup. But, the Cap 1 chip doesn't work well here in South America, so I have to insert the card in the card reader. The previous card I brought into S. A. had the same problem, so I got a replacement from Cap 1 and it's no better. Wish I had my Schwab card back. The chip works well on my Chase cards, too. Unfortunately my Chase Sapphire, an excellent card for travelers due to points and perks, also went along with the Schwab card, wherever that was. But for now, I'm using the Cap 1 credit card to accumulate miles, (which I just used to pay for my flight from Porto Alegre to Buenos Aires.).

You say you only take one card with you? I'd rethink that, specifically think about what you would do if you lost that one card you have.

There are only major two banks that take overseas cards: Santander and Bradesco. The commission is now 10% and 11%, up from 8% last year. Not good.

Itau, Banco do Brasil and God forbid, Caixa ATMs don't accept foreign cards, though someone told me Itau resumed handling foreign cards, an expat German woman told me it didn't.

Here in Porto Alegro, the main bank is Banrisul, and it has its own proprietary network. It doesn't take foreign cards, nor much of anything else. To make matters worse for the locals, not all merchants use the Banrisul network, you will see signs at businesses indicating it's not a payment option. The last GP I paid here with a CC, asked me what card I had. She accepted the Cap 1 Visa, but no Banrisul debit cards, nope. On that note, since the Schwab debit card got nicked, I've been able to use the Cap 1 Visa and acquire MILES through every sex provider. Prives, "escorts" and massage therapists accept Visa with a 8 to 10 reais surcharge. Still cheaper than all the fees that come with withdrawing cash from an ATM, if you don't have a card that reimburses the fees (like the Schwab bank card).

The Banco 24 Horas ATMs have a commission of 14%, so avoid them at all cost. Sadly, those are often the most convenient ATMs, as you will find them in Metro stations and grocery stores. And when the other bank ATMs don't work, theirs do. And those two banks have frequent network problems, which might have you going from on place to another.

Commissions on transactions with overseas cards are now up to 16% , which is displayed on the card reader, often to the amazement of the cashier, who is not familiar with all the extra screens that are generated when a foreign card goes through the reader. I recall my other lost cards, adjusted those fees.
You shouldn't be paying ANY conversion fees. ATMs have two options. To accept conversion or decline it. Always DECLINE. Then there is no conversion fee and your home bank gives you close to spot rate. They always try to trick you on this. Like at the Banco 24 horas ones it now says "CANCEL conversion" which is scary and makes you think you are cancelling the transaction. You are not. You are just declining local conversion at their exhorbitsnt rates. Always decline / cancel conversion.

Make sure you have a few extra 100 reais in your hand when you say that. Just say sem camisinha and show her the money, she'll understand.

I know this is a late reply but I'm also on my way approx same times as you and had to so some research LOL.

Copa Airlines is great if in your or you can still search requirements w them. On the bottom left on their main page (https://www.copaair.com/en-us/) they have a "check your travel requirement" page where you can verify what you must have to enter Brazil. And yes that Yellow Fever vaccine section is on there and their answer is no. I searched and used them since they are correct on the E-Visa requirement that will be effective on 4/10/24 for US / CA residents whereas Avianca as the wrong date and had to ditch them LOL. Kudos to Copa!

    Omw

Boots on the ground in few days, looking into Rio's smaller town Juiz de Fora although I may change my mind last min. Never been there but seems cozy and got a sweet luxury condo deal at normal pricing. Trying to stay away from party towns since I'll likely camp out 6 mo or longer. Any intel anyone can offer on that town let me know please in terms of P4P spots etc.
