I'll be in Orlando until Monday and then I plan to get on a plane to one of the following places. Bogota, Medellin or Rio. In Bogota and Medellin I have non pro contacts under 22 and can pretty much have the cookie under the sheets within a few hours of landing.

I really want to go to Brazil but all this talk about prices and packed beaches and hassles are not very motivating. Plus I freaken looked for a hotel and apartment for a few hours yesterday and got a headache from it. Can't someone just tell me where a good one bedroom is that is around 100 bucks and allow me to play some tennis, learn a new country and hangout with some Brazilians. Should I just hop on a plane and worry about sleeping when I get there? Listen I promise I am a normal everyday guy and I'm not cheap and will represent americans just fine in Rio!

Maybe I should wait until high season is over and just do Colombia. Again. 15th time!

Yeah man, RIGHT you fuck for free down there, I don't care how much is somebody paying for a pussy down there, you have this rich guys who live there, mostly retired guys, and some short time visitor 10 days, they'll pay anything what this women ask for (That's their business) but, I'm not going to pay for a silicone hoe in termas $200-250, for a fuck, I don't care how she looks like, porn star or not (You can fuck anywhere in the world for that kind of money even in ALASKA) , and $100-200 per day, for a small shitty apartment in Copacabana, that's just not my style. Everybody who likes is go head.

Regarding prices in Rio, it has of course become more expensive and even more expensive than most other vacation destinations in the world. But there is a way to lower the prices quite a lot. First is to learn some basic portuguese, when you have learned that most prices get lower from apartments to taxi. The GDP's know that a gringo who speaks portuguese have been around the block a few times and know that it's no idea to fool around with you. For apartements, stay at a hotel for a day or two look for a apartment (I don't recommend the usual gringo companies for rental). Well, it's a couple of years since I was in Rio the last time so the prices are of course higher, but you don't need to do even make higher than needed. I wish you all a good stay there.

PS! Just last month I did a test, I called to gringo company and asked for the price for a particular apartment for the same periode and I got 2 different prices one expensive when I spoke english and one a lot cheaper when I spoke portoguese.

The organizers of last night Copacabana New Year's Eve celebration deserve a pat on the back. Not only were the fireworks by far the best I have ever seen, but also the whole process of people getting there was well planned out and executed. My Brazilian friends actually were making positive comments about the government which is something that never happens. Tunnels to Copa from both sides were closed to all but foot traffic. Buses were lined up after the show to take people to the outlying areas.

My friends and I watched the show from well above the beach and the fireworks being shot off from what looked like 8 barges were spectacular.

Give the Brasileiros and their gringo friends putarias, casas, termas, beer, and fireworks, so they'll be happy and us government people can continue our corrupt ways. Then with all the profits from the World Cup and Summer Olypmic, the government will open a brand new and shiny Club Help and Mei Pataca. Say amen!

MF almost got me one day a few years back, and I am a first class swimmer and a rescue diver. I barely made it out alive. My knees were very scratched up from the sand. When you see those signs up do not go near that water.

As for swimming, Copacabana is the worst, most of the brasileiros can't swim, cause of the waves constantly coming, most of them just stay in front of them and cool up. If you want to swim go to Miami Beach, my personal favorite.

Several Copacabana establishments have already closed probably as part of a pre-World Cup, pre-Olympics 'clean-up'. But don't be swayed by bullshit numbers tossed about by posters like JuveStadium & Salbaggio (probably the same guy) , these are the actual prices that you can expect to pay in Rio as detailed in Bubba Boy's guide. Currrent Exchange Rate on the street should be about 2R to the dollar.
