I have not heard of Barra (the town) before. I will have to explore when I am in Rio as I am considering to stay there for a while.

I was in Brazil for about 6 weeks, of which two weeks was spent in Rio. I have been to Brazil before, but I am a newbie for the most part. I thought the best approach would be to just give my overall thoughts on things as that might provide more value.

Stayed in Copacabana for 14 days, had an AirBNB that was girl friendly. I had two friends with me, so the apartment was quite large.
