I can understand your anger as you only had one week in Brazil.
There are many cities in Brazil where the girls are ten times worse than Rio-girls when it comes to arrive in time, e.g Manaus. In Manaus you should be happy if a girl is only 1 hour late. Sometimes there are good excuses; heavy rain, long busride etc. If I date them at my place I use the waiting time to take a nap. If I date them on a public place I use the waiting time to flirt with other women. I can't let a late girl ruin my day.

Wondering if anyone could help me out with some visa issues. I booked a round trip flight to Rio Sept 21st to Nov 30th. This will be my first time traveling to Brazil. I was under the impression a USA citizen could stay in Brazil for up to 6 months a year. I called a visa agency today called itseasybrazil and they are telling me If I want to be in Brazil for more than 30 days I have to endure an F. B. I. Investigation that can last up to 8 weeks! Are they full of s*t or do I have to change my flight dates? Any advice would be much appreciated!

now if you are one of those guys who do not mind being disrespected, then more power to you. far be it from me to tell you to change, please allow the females to treat you however they want to. i on the other hand demand respect from people i deal with, especialy if i am putting money in your fucking pocket! i gurantee one thing, these 3 females will not forget this learning experience anytime soon. and the next time they are supposed to come over, i will bet 100reais they will be on time! i have already had 2 of them apologise for their behavior and promise not to stand me up again. 2 out of 3 aint bad, as far as i am concerned, mission accomplished!

Posts: 2345Rain messes up travelling time big style in Rio. Not everyone lives on a metro line. Add to that social etiquette allows Brasilians to be late (with each other, not just with gringos). The same doesn't usually go the other way round because Western etiquette is to be mostly on time, which is what we are likely to be judged on. I think a degree of caveat emptor comes in. If you don't allow for Rio time and GDP unreliability, you are likely to be easily disappointed. If a girl is travelling some distance to see me I a) keep on her tail, and be) have a plan be.
It can also work to advantage. A girl was two and a half hours late for me one night. She was travelling from the edge of town by bus in heavy rain. No reception for a lot if the time but I managed to get thru and confirm she was on her way. When she arrived, she was both apologetic and overjoyed that I hadn't freaked out. Needless to say, she gave good value and only left when I had to leave for my plane the following night.
Even if I meet a gringo I'll usually say something like, I'll be at posto x at such-and-such a time for a while, then I'm going on to such-and-such for dinner. It gives people a fix if they are held up and also means I am not going out of my way. To me, that's a normal way of making arrangements in Rio unless it's the theatre or something (in which case you have to know that the other person can cope and anticipate delays and so on).
'Getting even' might sound righteous, but it still means you lost out or wouldn't feel that way. Never mind right and wrong, it's about practicalities, succeeding in getting what you want. Thinking Brazilian will get a higher hit rate, that's all.

BTW, your revenge was quite ugly IMO.
About 80% of brazilian women turns up late to date. Maybe 10% don't turn up at all. It's very annoying, but it's normal behaviour in Brazil.

Getting any woman from Rio to turn up on time is a challenge. I am actually sitting at home now waiting for a girl to turn up, well sort of. Once it started to rain today I just knew she wouldn't turn up. So, she is due in about 30 minutes but there is no way she is going to turn up. Raining pretty hard outside and cold!
My current "girlfriend" (not the girl I am waiting for now) is one of the rare girls that actually turns up like clockwork. In fact I don't really like her that much, but I REALLY like the fact that she turns up on time, hence I have been seeing her for the last 6 months!

Posts: 52I have been back for a few days now and all three girls have sent me multiple emails crying about all the problems they had when they didn't have the money to pay for the cab. Or that they had to find money to pay for their transport back home or whatever BS they were complaining about. I gave each one a song and dance abut the fact that "I had to go to the airport early and I was trying to change my ticket but they wouldn't let me. And then my pone wasnt working, so I couldn't get in contact with them." I also added in "How did it feel when you wasted your time and money trying to see me? Didn't feel nice did it? Well now you know how I feel when you fuck up my vacations! TOMA!"
"REVENGE IS LIKE THE SWEETEST JOY, NEXT TO GETTING PUSSY!" Tupac Shakur.
They will be alright, nest time they'll know how to conduct business, because this is a profession.
