The cabines are part of the terma. You do not leave the premises, and there is no need to go back to your locker and retrieve anything. You may want to, but you do not need to. In most termas you just walk to the room with the girl of your choice and do the nasty. No pit stop required. In some termas (L'uomo, for example) the girls go freshen up after you agree to take them to get nailed, and you wait in the boite for them to return.

Decided to go to Florida instead of Balcony on Saturday night. And decided to live dangerously and cheaply (took a bus)

2 points:

2) Pay-day in Brasil is typically 5th of every month. So you actually caught it on the last Friday before pay-day. Meaning by this point in the month most 502 punters have blown all their disposable cash and have none left until 5th August (what with rent being due on 1st and all). It's quiet because it's winter, and then on top of that most of their usual customers have no reserves at this point in the month.

Has anyone else been unable to use their bank card or credit cards in Brazil? I spoke with my bank last week to let them know I would be traveling so that they could put a note on my account only to find out that they will not allow ANY transactions in Brazil (along with 4 other countries) even if you have a note on your account. I do have an American Express as well, so I am hoping that I can use it if need be. Just curious if anyone else has run into this issue as well. I really do not want to carry large amounts of cash into a country.

My debit card seems to get blocked every other day but I call them (VOIP FTW!) and then it is unblocked in 5 minutes. It is a hassle but ok for me as it is a safety net too, if and when things go south. Weird thing blocking Brazil though, I mean it isn't exactly Nigeria (sorry Nigerian folks, I have had too many emails trying to give me money)

I don't like withdrawing cash from credit cards as the interest is calculated from the day of withdrawal (One used to load up the credit card and spend overseas but now it is marked as laundering technique) but from where I come from, there are cards with offers of no interest if the balance if paid on time and 0% load (I. E. No 2% extra on the exchange rate). If you hunt around on sites that offer tips on saving money, you might find a good card. Might be useful for future travel. Good luck!

I stay often at the Ibis Centro near Praca Tiradentes. There are lots of low end putas in the area like the ones mentioned in the videos. Not just near Tiradentes but all over Rio.
