Perhaps yes, but still the Brazilian experience is something different and well worth taking the time to go trough.

Regarding the travelling and geography, I've had many times the impression that Americans tend to look at the world out there like one big scary place where strange people is hiding in bushes waiting to have a chance to do evil on them as they venture out of their "safe" country (which I think is just about one of the most unsafe places on earth BTW, due to "cultural" reasons, to the amount of firearms available, the amount of nutjobs around and so on).

It is true that Brits get around a lot, and if you lived in a place with similar climate I bet you'd want to get around too. Is also true tho, that most of all they do wherever they are is sitting in the local Irish pub getting smashed, LOL. Germans get around a lot. They have a good economy that allows them to do so and just like Brits have all the climatic motivation to hop on a plane looking for sunshine, they also seem to have a more genuine interest toward travelling and discovering the world.

    Bless

To make things even worse, I once sat in front of Help and listened to a bunch of americans basicly screaming about their experiences last night. He did not even believe europeans understood english!

I hope to not digress too much, but to entertain. I was in Rio a couple months ago and flew back via GIG- ATL. The USA citizen in front of me had this discussion with the TSA officer.

TSA: What were you doing in Rio?

    American: I live in Rio.

TSA: Why would you want to live there instead of here?

American: Because it is a beautiful city and I like it there.

TSA: Don't you like the USA?

American: Yes, but I like to live in Rio. I have been there for 2 years.

TSA: Do you want to remain a US citizen? Why have you been gone so long.

    American: Yes.

    TSA: Okay (passes him)

I know people who don't travel overseas simply because they don't like being treated like a traitor by the TSA and scanned / searched like a criminal. So things like this will perpetuate the disinterest in travelling. Too bad for Carioca WGs, as the Americanos view Brasilieras as very exotic and the common man would love to get his hands on one. I don't speak of my activities, but every Americano that I know on a personal level insinuates jealousy at the idea of my being down in BR taking Brasileiras. It's not that the guys don't want to go. It's just too much expense, and too much hassle from the govt. Realize that in these parts, BR has a rep as a place for pervs who want to exploit girls. Remember what the signs in the hotels like Copa Premier warn against? That's what people in EUA think male visitors go to Rio for. Go to Rio or BKK, and you are suspect. I know of a guy whose camera was searched at LAX for illegal pix, simply because had several LOS stamps on his passport. This is the environment that your fellow Americano ISG'ers operate in. Like criminals on return to EUA. Not fun, and not conducive to thinking about the world outside the borders.

Weird. I would think that most guys hanging out there are married, or have been, and aren't the slightest bit amused.

I think I'd after about 10 minutes I'd be back to the boite looking for some strange.

General comment on the thread geography discussion: You only need to know geography if you want to go somewhere, right? Most Brasilians and for that matter, most Americans, don't have the spare cash to fund an overseas trip. Europeans seem better off in that respect, with money to travel. Anywhere I monger, except Costa Rica and Mexico, guys from Germany and the UK are there in force. A Carioca colleague told me that some sex tourist group from Germany actually rents commercial airliners and flies them to Rio. Nothing but mongers on the plane. So I take it that people in DE have a lot of money to travel, if it is possible to recruit planeloads of mongers, and knowledge of geography in DE would be pretty good. Rio is here, Angeles City is there, Pattaya is up here....haha Personally, I think anyone with local access to FKK and Partytreff is crazy to come to Rio given rising prices and the exchange rate of Reais to Euros, but to each their own...

I agree with you, I don't judge a bucetta by its owner.

Been to Cannes a few times, I once had a girlfriend who I met in Marbella who was German, she lived in Paris. Screwed her all over the French Riviera and Paris too, time well spent in France. Didn't get there by bus though but that's a good question.

That is easy. When you run out of money.

    Friday Night Fun

Went to Centro yesterday. Hit 502 and then 4x4.

As BubbaBoy texted me. 502 put their prices up: R$150 for 40 mins and R$190 for 1 hour. After purchasing an hour and handing over 3 50R$ notes and 2 20R$ notes, the receptionist asked me for R$10. I'm like, um, I know I gave you R$190. She's like, no no,"para mim. Caixinha." I laughed and said "After R$190, I'm a little broke."

Which only prompted her to lower her ask to R$5. 00. Really? I'm supposed to tip you for performing the classy service of accepting my money?

Had a solid session in the room with the one girl there I think is smoking hot. She wanted to keep my travel-size Listerine. She needed it when I was done with her LOL. Place was packed with people. It's 2 days after payday (5th each month) and on Fridays for 2 weeks now they are doing some kind of promo-theme party, Weddings. As my gal said, you get married at reception and go upstairs for the honeymoon (which literally is translated into Porto as something like lua-mel). When's the inevitable Brazilian divorce, though? .

4x4 was pretty busy in the main boate. The boate in the back (way down the corridor and up the spiral stairs) is definitely still nicer, and quieter. But now it's become a bullshit "smoking room." I hate that. (After sitting in 502's smoking room, I have to wash all my clothes immediately).

Had a solid session at 4x4 with a tall, lean, black older (well, she said 25) girl named "Fanny." She used to work at MCs she said and Balcony (think I've seen her there).4x4 pricing is still pretty reasaonable. Think it was R$50 entrada and maybe R$220 for an hour? Funniest part: I'm telling her about where I live in Copa, and she's like "I think I know that apartment." And she proceeds to describe it in some detail. The owner (whom I'm renting from while he's overseas) is something of a notorious safado. LOL. FYI bottles of Heineken at 4x4 are now R$9. 00, which I know will annoy some people. If I drank it, I'd be annoyed. At least 502 still gives you your R$20 entrada towards beers or waters as consumacao.

By the way, the general body type at 4x4 remains big-butt, slightly chub-chub. It's not ideal for the Cartman's tastes. And several of these types have moved over lately to 65.

If it wasn't for France us Americans would still be British subjects; and if it wasn't for America the French would be speaking German right about now.

The most popular question I get from Latinas and Brasileiras when I am in my home town is, "What time is it there?" And I'm thinking beoootch I'm damn near due north of you. What time do you think it is? And the most popular question from Americans if you mention a country other than Mexico, Jamaica, England, France, or Canada is, "Where is that?"

Most of the waiters in Rio are from the Ceara state, far north. One time, one of them asked me how many hours of bus to get to France from Rio.

Brazil needs education more than anything else.

I was flirting with a girl selling fruits on the street in Terésina. She asked where I came from. I told her and also explained that it's in Europe. She was quiet for a while and then asked how many hours it takes going by bus to Brazil.

Another girl also asked where I came from. I told her, and she thought my country was a state in the southern part of Brazil.

    Terma 502. New prices

Terma 502 has just put up their prices.

    60 minutes is now R$ 190, used to be R$ 150.

    40 minutes is now R$ 150, used to be R$ 120.

Entrance I believe is the same at R$ 20, which includes 3 local beers.

I believe that 502 is the best value place in Centro. The hour used to be R$180 all up with 3 drinks included, now it is R$210. This compares to 4x4 at R$270 for the hour but without drinks. The women are the same quality although this varies with the season.
