Staying in Ipanema and wondering where to get local GPD. I know all the spots in Copacabana (Balcony Bar, Pussycat, Franks, etc), but don't know of anything local in Ipanema. I know Centaurus is on the boarder with Ipanema, but looking for something last minute late in the night. Something like a Meia Petaca or any place to mix, mingle, and make a selection. Also, any SW's in Ipanema? Thanks.

The list is pretty current.
For the casas on the list, pay attention to the casas listed under Villa Nueva 1 and 2.
One of the Villa Nueva lists is for one side of the main street, Oriental and the other Villa Nueva list is for the other side of the street.
All within walking distance of eachother in el Central.
There are always guys out on that main street and around, handing out cards for new or established casas.
Prices are inexpensive at about $20-30 US for an hour, quality depends on your luck, it varies.
IMHO, Medellin is much better than San Jose, CR, and less expensive.
For a first timer, consider staying at the Medellin Mansion or now called the Casa Blanca 1 or the lower key affililiated Casa Blanca 2.
Invaluable information available there from the staff and fellow guys staying there, especially for a new guy there.
I know Medellin and all of Colombia very well, and I dig it, however, since discovering Brasil about 4-5 years ago, I prefer Brasil, though Colombia is generally cheaper and closer to the US.
Have fun!!

I, m in Rio for 4 weeks. Mainly work but with a few free days and free evenings. Time to do a bit of exploring off the usual monger trail.
With the rising costs in Rio there has been some interest on the forum in visiting the other centro termas apart from the "premier division" ones (eg 4x4, Cancun, T65). Last night I paid a visit to Termas 502 and here are my observations to help others who may be interested in going. I hope that this helps prepare 502-newbies for a visit so at least you know what to expect when you go in.
I had been to 502 before, a couple of times several years ago, when I had the pleasure/privilege of spending a couple of hours with Darlene, who sadly appears to have retired from the termas now. It appears that 502 used to be bunda heaven with Darlene, Soraya, Sumara and Aninha (and maybe Aaliyah?) all having worked there at some point in the early to mid "naughties". This time at 502 I didn't indulge but I stayed for about an hour and half to soak up the atmosphere and scope out the talent – I always try to last at least an hour in a termas even if I don't end up sessioning (although sometimes it is just not possible!), just in case my dream girl had just been snapped up for an hour just before I walked in. It also gives you time to size up the vibe, talk to a few girls and watch how they interact with others to scope out possibilities. Last night and tonight is Halloween with some girls dressed up in skeleton-type bikinis (with bones up the front that glowed in the dark) and wearing pointy witches hats. Some girls just had skimpy bikinis (well what little bits of material covering their "bits") which glowed in the dark.
1) Location
502 is on Rua Alfandega, just off Rio Branco. I found the easiest way to get to it is from the Urugaiana Metro station: take the Presidente Vargas exit from the subway, once on the main road Vargas (which straight ahead of you on exit) turn right and walk down Vargas until you reach Rio Branco, turn right again and R. Alfandega is about 25 yards on the right. 502 is the first building on the left in R. Alfandega. It will take you a couple of minutes to get there. You can also get to 502 by walking straight out of Urugaiana and heading to Av. Rio Branco and then turning left but this means walking down a less well-lit and less-busy street after dark. Also, if you don't like the idea of being around Urugaiana after dark you can get off the metro at Carioca, turn left on exit and walk down the main street until you reach Alfandega, this will probably take you 10 minutes as you have to cross a couple of main roads. I arrived at 8 and left at 9. 30 and there were plenty of people still around the streets on the way home from work. I've not walked around this area later than 10-11 pm but others have provided advice in the forum about being around Centro late at night.
2) Getting in and getting started
You have to walk up quite a step set of stairs to get to the entrance desk, the guy at the bottom of the stairs will stare at you to size you up as you walk in, the guy at the top of the stairs will give you a cost-card which is filled in with your drinks and any sessions you have. You don't need to check in at the front desk, but you pay here on the way out. You don't change into a robe here, you walk in the bar straight off the street. Entrance is R$20 which includes three free beers. I've not had more than 3 drinks here so I don't know how much the drinks actually cost. I didn't check the costs of the sessions but I believe it is R$140 for an hour. You can also session for 20 or 40 minutes. You give the barman your card t be marked for drinks and any sessions will also be marked on the card. You pay on the way out.
3) The termas itself
Basically it is one long room with seats and tables down the sides and a bar at the opposite end to the way in. The music (Brazilian, MPB, some hip-hop) was very loud which makes conversation difficult and if you are tall like me, the flashing lights seem to be almost at eye level which can be quite blinding. Nobody was smoking in the bar. There are a couple of small stages with poles and whilst I was there girls got up and gave dances lasting 5-10 minutes (depending on the interest that they get) moving from clothed (I. E. A skimpy bikini) to naked. The dances appeared to be on the hour. They did seem to allow some touching and interaction as they danced, I didn't do any of this but it seemed like touching some areas was ok (butt, legs, arms, back) but others were not (pussy), the girls would indicate to the guys whether they had crossed some line or rule about touching. One girl did stop dancing and walk off after a guy leaned in and shouted something up her ass (what's that about? I saw that happen a couple of times, a guy leans in and yells something up their ass?). I watched a few girls dance and it seems like you have to initiate any interaction. You can sit down on the seats on the side to scope out the scene but a lot of guys stand up on the floor which means that you can get blocked in from seeing/talking to the girls as they walk by. This time I didn't session but I seem to remember from two years ago that the rooms were adequate but not palatial, the room that I had contained a sex chair as well as a bed which made for some interesting positions! You walk back to the entrance and then through another door to reach the cabines. I may go back there tomorrow night and if I session I can describe the cabine. The room was not packed but pretty busy. I would estimate something like 20 girls and 50-60 guys in the bar. Definitely many more guys than girls. The guys all looked like locals to me and were a range of ages, some dressed like they had just come off the beach (T shirt, shorts) and others lie they had just come from work (suits). The atmosphere was pretty neutral/friendly, I didn't get any "what is the gringo doing here" stares.
4) The girls (the really important bit)
Finally, I hear you say, he's finally got onto the critical bit. As I said, 502 in the past appears to have had a reputation for big bundas (based on forum comments), which as a bunda-boy was appealing to me. There were some present last night but most girls were on the skinny side, nevertheless they still manage to extract every jiggle and wobble out of their arses when they shake them! I spoke to 5 girls whilst I was there – my Porto is not great but I can hold a basic conversation and ask the important questions. It is difficult to talk below a shout in the room due to the noise level, so I couldn't pick up any names.
In my opinion most of the girls are not at the top end of the scale which you are more likely to find in the top termas but there were a couple of very pretty girls. At the other end of the scale there was one that looked like a bloke in drag to me, but she (I'm assuming she was a she, I didn't talk to her) worked the room hard and seemed to be getting some attention, bless her. There are a range of ethnicities and body shapes there but most girls there last night were of African or mixed (Mulatta)heritage but there were also some latina-looking and branca there as well (I hope that sentence doesn't offend, I'm basically trying to say that the mix was mainly black with some other ethnicities as well). Quite a few of the girls are on the slim-side but with lovely asses. Most of the girls looked natural to me, though there was one girl (who looked familiar – maybe done porno) with a couple of silicon hemispherical bolt-ons. There were a few 'curvy' types for those of you like a bit more meat and several big bundas on show. I prefer a girl whose thighs are as wide as her shoulders and whose arse finally arrives a couple of seconds after she does, so I tended to focus my attention on them. There were a couple of those present. I spoke to two extremely pretty and slim girls, another one who was curvy and cute but had a piercing on her face which looked like a big zit and was a little offputting and two with bunda grande. One of these popozuda beauties was a girl who looked a bit like Joyce Oliveira with a big butt (I couldn't catch her name but she was pretty flat chested so I am pretty sure that it wasn't her) and there was another latina loira who had a bunda that approached Darlene-levels although not quite as big – wide in the thigh and a perky gravity-defying popozuda (she is 21 so it hasn't started to get too flabby or head south yet). She was the only girl that I would have sessioned with but she turned out to have a bad attitude. When I sat down to talk to her, she was sitting in a sulk and not really wanting to talk at all. What I managed to get out of her was that her name sounded like Polly/Pony/Tony? (I asked her 3 times but couldn't hear with the noise and she looked pissed off as I kept asking her to repeat). She was a bit drunk and was sulking as she had been there for 2 hours and had not sessioned yet. Talking to her was difficult and she just wanted to sulk rather than talk and in the end she just got up and walked off! A shame as she could have been the girl I sessioned with if she had been a bit happier and interactive. I may drop by tonight, if nothing works out at another termas and try talking to her again.
As I said, to my eyes the quality of the girls covered a range from very pretty to less so and to be honest, I've seen a similar range of beauty in top end Centro termas (4x4, Cancun). Perhaps there are more mid-range and less top-end compared to 4x4 or L'uomo but it was as good a range as I saw on my last visit to Cancun.
5) So what are the differences between 502 and the top-end Termas?
The first and obvious big difference between 502 and somewhere like 4x4 or L'uomo is in how the girls interact with you. They tended to work their way round the room, stopping to talk to guys who reached out to them to give them a hug or a kiss or grab their butt, before moving on. Some girls did spend long periods of time talking to the same guy or group of guys but they may have been their regulars? The girls that I spoke to didn't indulge in much small talk. Perhaps it was because of my limited Porto and none of them spoke any English. But they also tended to move on quickly when talking to locals as well. The conversation moved quickly from greetings (Hi, swap names, do you want some company?) to "do you want to fuck? " in a matter of minutes. If the answer was "not right now", "maybe later" or anything other than "yes" then they didn't stick around and would move on. This is in contrast to my last visits to 502 a couple of years ago, when I had several girls sit and talk to me for 15+ minutes although I had visited in the early evening when it was quieter with fewer guys present. It may be that this time with a room full of guys they were trying to maximise their success rate by moving on quickly to the next guy/possibility. It may be a little unfair to say this, but it seemed that a lot guys were there to drink beer and ogle/grope girls and this seems to rub off on the girls' attitudes (mind you ogling was what I ended up doing! Although I did go in with the intention of sessioning).
Secondly, girls don't tend to come up to you and start a conversation, so you have to take the initiative (I had 3 girls come up to me in 1. 5 hours). If you are sitting on the side, they may come up and loiter in front of you, adjusting their clothing to show off their assets whilst preening in the mirror, but few of them try to make eye contact with you unlike at places like 4x4, L'uomo and Cancun. If they walk past you on the floor they may brush past you but they don't linger. You have to make the first move, even making eye contact with them as they walk past won't attract them over as most of the guys are staring at tits and ass as it walks by, so how do they know that you want them to come over? I noticed that most guys reach out and BRIEFLY grab flesh – arm, back, or mainly butt – to get the girl's attention. If you sit and wait for action, you will sit and wait a very long time!
Thirdly, there doesn't seem to be much small talk or kissing/cuddling going on in the bar – if you think it will be like 4x4 or L'uomo where some gata will sit with you for 20+ minutes, let you grope her and will be sticking her tongue down your throat within a couple of minutes, think again. Like I said, it is more business-like. "Hi", "you want to fuck? ", "lets go". It may be that I caught it on a busy night but there didn't seem to be the atmosphere or opportunity for relaxing foreplay to scope out the girl before deciding.
Fourthly, the obvious big difference is the price, a one hour session in 502 will cost you R$160 (20 entrance/3 drinks plus 140 session) compared to R$270 at 4x4 after 5pm when you don't get the entrance waived (50 entrance + 220 session).
In conclusion, I hope that this info is useful for anybody who is thinking about venturing beyond the normal Centro termas visited by us gringos (4x4, Cancun, T65). Bear in mind that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so the best thing to do is to go there and check it out yourself: entrance is cheap and includes 3 drinks. You may find a gem, or your ideal type, however, if nothing takes your fancy then have a couple of beers before heading off to 4x4, at least you get to eye pussy and bunda whilst drinking!
I'm here for 4 weeks with work, so I'll try out some of the other Centro termas (maybe MV30, T61, T31, T81, Florida. We'll see), it gives me something to do in the evenings (!) and report back.

What I see is highly variable service, covered BJ's (sacrilege) and prices that aren't much lower than Rio Centro. MDE seems to be the only decent alternative in this part of the world. With Latin America mongering going up in price all the time, at some point people in Europe will say screw this and just go camp out at the Partytreffs in Germany instead of going to South America. Unfortunately I live on the other side of the pond and our 'Anti-Sex League' doesn't allow such hedonistic places..

Posts: 2374Arrived in Rio yesterday and heard from gringo management that whereas prior to the demise of Help, when 85% of their clientele was black usa, now their units are being rented primarily to 'families' and europeans. The present economy appears to be pricing out the bottom of the market. On the Continental flight over, the majority of passengers were Brazilian nationals (and would have been higher % if not for the 'oil patch trash'). Haven't seen this since the eary '90s. Looking forward to this one for the first time in a while.

I'll be back in Rio in late February and I'm wondering if Centro casas and clubs are typically crowded with tourists at that time. I've never been to Rio during February before, so don't know what to expect.
June apartment traffic was pretty heavy this year compared with last year at the same time. Last year you could walk into any of the apartments at 2 pm and get your pick from any of the girls. This year, at 2 pm it wasn't uncommon for all girls to still be busy..so I'm a little concerned about coming during February high time and wondering if I should just plan to spend a night at 4x4 and then go try BsAs or something.
On another note. Lots of you guys are knowledgeable about MDE. Can someone PM me and point me to the equivalent of Sperto's list for MDE casas? I see a list and a series of photo maps, but the info looks possibly out of date. My schedule opened up for some hobbying, so I am about to book a trip to San Jose CR for the week after next simply because I can't get a firm grasp on the logistics and pricing of MDE. It's the most confusing thread that I've found on this board..I'm looking for the MDE equivalent of Ibis Centro in Rio or Mercure Hayam Wuruk in JKT. Just a place in the epicenter where there are a lot of nice cheap full service MP's within walking or short riding distance.
