    Receptionists = thieves at 4x4

Went to 4x4 tonight, I remember somebody complaining that the receptionists at 4x4 do not give correct change. Well 2 weeks ago I was shorted R$3, I kind of was annoyed but said nothing. I always check my change in Brazil.

Tonight, I am already pissed before reaching the reception to check out because the locker attendant comes over and asks for a "caixinha" a tip, has a bit of paper already to write it down. This practise is what really shits me about Centaurus. If I want to give a tip I will if the service is good or some other extra service was provided, just giving out R$ to everyone in Brazil with a hand out is just nuts, no Brazilians do that shit. I have zero problem now saying firmly no to these requests and letting them know very firmly that I do not appreciate this request.

Anyway, get to the reception, the bill is R$265, I hand over $300, I get R$25 in change. I was so ready for them, was actually waiting for them to try and fuck me I picked it up straight away. I look around to speak to the manager who is nearly always sitting on the chairs in front of the reception - usually has a cap. As luck would not have it he is not there. Hence, I just blasted the receptionists, all 3 of them. Fuck I was pissed. They are systematically thieving change from people.

To top the night off, as I am leaving the security guy outside asks for a tip. I let him know exactly what I thought of his request, blasted him as well.

I won't be going back to 4x4 for a while, if I do the first thing I will do is find the manager and have a chat to him.

The receptionists at 4x4 can go fuck themselves........nothing but thieving pieces of shit!

spring last year? i think spring is just about to start in rio next week?

i will go and check there wednesday, there is a public holiday tomorrow, hence maybe a lot of shops appeared to be closed today to make the "4 day weekend", which is common when there is a public holiday wednesday.

Per Google Maps, that address was formerly Quebrar-Mar Boate & Restaurant. It is NOT close to Copa:

Yes I know Barra very well, in fact I often stay there. Av Pepe is on the beach right at the beginning of Barra and I would say after 9 at night you would comfortably get from Copa in 30/40 mins. In fact any time except for rush hours you can get from Copa in that sort of time. This new place they are talking about (I haven't yet been there ) is just down the road from Cafe400, a conventional termas but there is no need for taking your clothes off (Av Pepe 400)

Should you want to further afield in Barra you need transport, you are right, it's no place for strolling around. If you are based in Barra, say somewhere around the Sheraton, then you are a short cab ride from most places you would want to go, and public transport is good, but of course it is a different experience from what most on here are used to.

In Barra there are several other termas and massage type places, a lot of shopping centers and some very good restaurantes. The beach is, imo, much better than elsewhere in Rio. It is the safest place also, imo.

Most likely all the photos are fake, stolen elsewhere. Now maybe the agency happens to have good girls anyway, as reported by gpguia, but most likely it is not the girls that are on the photos.

Pricing: yes, pricing went through the roof. If I did not know cheap cheap places in Rio, I might feel compelled to go to Germany or Pattaya for cheaper sex.
Due to work I have been spending some time in Peru. I have had some amazing good luck in Lima. The expense is not and issue for me (my wife can spend more shopping in London or Paris in an afternoon than I can spend in Rio for a week). Lima is at least half the price of Rio for all services.

    Careful about unknown escort sites

It depends. That would be my answer. I am not such a fan of the Termas anymore. I have been to a few (in Rio) and 4x4 is the one I visit once, every time I am in Rio. But just once. Termas are not the best deal IMO. I do not understand why they have gotten so expensive. In a country like Germany, where the average wages are 3x to 10x that of the Brazilians, a german FKK offers MUCH better value for money. Really MUCH MUCH better. Believe me, I know. For 50 Euro entrance (Düsseldorf/Köln area) you get free drinks, food and entrance ALL day. 1 hour in a (nice and clean) room, with an lady of your choice (stunner can be found), can often be arranged for Euro 75.

IMHO if you have an apartment in Rio, the best deal are the escorts. Besides the obvious ones (Karla and Scort which will cost you some 150-170 for 2 hours including taxi) there are some really good ones where nice ladies (7-9 score) will stay 2 hours for 250 R$. I know no place in Europe or the USA which offers anything close to this. I think Brazil still offers the best there.

For instance this one is not bad: www.vipgoldrj.com. There are plenty others like that in Rio.

I personally think that spending 2 hours in my apartment with a very nice and good looking 22 year old (as I have met from such agencies) is a great deal.

New Bar in Barra da Tijuca: YES

A friend invited me to the opening of the bar in old Quebra Mar. I did not go, but I can confirm such a bar did actually open. Let us hope it will continue.

At least it is at the very end of Barra da Tijuca, a little separate from all. But still too close to classy upper class housing. And of course, with my apartment being near old Help, I will be away from Point Zero then.

Seconded. There's more and more fat women in Brasil (and as Brasileiras tend to be rather short, especially in Nordeste and Norte, it's even more obvious).

Even authorities agree that the country is experiencing an alarming epidemic of obesity (more than 22% of the population).

    New Help in Barra?

I heard from two sources that a new club that is meant to replace Help was going to open in Barra. I believe the name of the club is The Pier. Has anyone else heard this rumor?
