I noticed some items were stolen from my bag on my recent trip to Rio. Nothing expensive since I carry those items onboard. It might be a good idea to start inventorying items in your bag and check to make sure everything is there before leaving the airport. If not, file a claim at the baggage claim office. They speak English (or is it inglês?).

Also after coming back to the US, I noticed that several containers inside my bag which had been sealed were opened. Nothing taken so I assume it was done by security.

I wonder if the Philippines board spells it Pilipinas? Or the Greek section spells it Ελλάς. Or the Thai board:
thailand - ประเทศไทย (pratheṣ̄thịy). Or Deutschland, the deutsche way, for our FKK friends.

Anyone bother to find out? I think I know the answer already. Maybe ChristopherD should visit these country section boards to help members straight to correct their ways.

Maybe we need to find ways to translate "shithole apartment" too? Interestingly, the Brazilian Board calls the cheap apartment and street scene "area trash".

Should I talk about "casas de massagem" in the future? What would be the officially aproved wording for "massage parlor"?

Many of us are here trying to help others have a good experience, not trying to rent crappy rooms in our shithole apartment or posting ads in exchange for discounts or freebees. We also do not have posts over many years which discuss "young" girls.

. And getting caught up on the thread.

Brazil Specialist's accommodations are better than anything I have seen yet from the three apartment rental agencies I checked out so far. I don't have the experience to make a general declarative statement, but they are pretty nice. I will consider staying there if I am going to hunt on the beach.

Brazil Specialist did good by me when we went slumming in Copa and other locations. His mongering thesis statement is "natural breasts that don't sag, nice tummy". That generally means 18-23 year olds, no kids, although his regulars range up to 30. So yes, he is biased towards the younger crowd. We found enough diamonds in the rough to keep a monger happy on a limited budget. Unfortunately, the rooms/bathrooms varied from decent to "this sucks! ". Yes, we really packed sheets and towels. Overall I had fun and went places I would have not otherwise gone.

I've found young and fresh girls in 1R a min places in Centro as well, and still do, though admittedly less frequently. But those that know, know that. hahaa they tried this on me also. They tried to keep 1R but I asked for it. The girl acted all pissed and slammed a 1R coin on the counter. What a hoe! I'll leave a tip if I liked the customer service. I gave 4R tip over at solarium.

yes, nobody believes me, but I did the youngest and freshest Help girls (others I don't care about) for R$ 15 to R$ 55 in cheap parlors. Average R$ 25

I have been in Help once a year in the last 3 years. I did not like it : ugly and pushy girls. Most men clearly looking for h*ookers. It was a "lowlife aquarium". Every time I walked out empty handed because none of the girls was attractive enough.
For the people that like low level w*hores, I recommend trucker bars in the via Dutra, in Nova Iguaçu, 40km from the center of Rio. One gets the same girls for 10% of the price. Many streetwalkers off the highway there, but mostly transvestites. You can do them in the back of your car if you want. Not my cup of tea.

Dude! Advice like this is not cool. There are plenty of places men can enjoy the company of lower class GDPS without hangin on the Via Dutra at night!! That could be a very dangerous experience. Also most guys do not want find transvestites, I believe this subject is not permitted on this forum.
