I have to admit, all this Centaurus talk on these boards piqued my curiosity. I told myself I would never set foot in a place like that strictly out of principle. I'm not down with the whole paying everything up front crap. Well, it's the principle and more so the exorbitant prices!

I landed in Rio yesterday and made a trip to 4x4. For the first time ever, I did not see anything I liked over there and I was there from 7p-9p. I'm probably the first monger ever to land in Rio in the morning, have plenty of time to rest up, and not session the first night! Ha. Anyway, I figured since I didn't session the first night, I'll just give Centaurus a go. It wouldn't necessarily be blowing my budget out of the water, I having not sessioned the night before and all.

So I get to Centaurus on a Thursday night around 8:30p. This place happens to be 2 blocks from the apartment I am staying at in Ipanema. I figured this will be a one-shot deal. Go in, pick someone you vibe with, do a session, and try to pull her out of the terma for some possibly lower cost programas. Well, lower cost is relative of course. Any outside programma will be lower than paying for 40 mins at an upscale Zona Sul terma, which are all $R310 and above unless you get in early for a discount (Luomo, MC) or it's some weekly coupon special (MC, Solarium).

I pay upfront the R$450 gringo price. I knew what I was getting into and was planning to session anyway, so no argument from me to the front desk. Inside the boite, I would say there are about 60 girls there and maybe 25 guys. The ratio was quite good. As far as the talent pool, I'll have to admit that I am pretty impressed. There were a handful of 9's and plenty of 8's. Pretty much a notch above Solarium. I also noticed that a lot of girls there speak a fair amount of English, mostly learned in the boite I reckon.

Since these girls know most customers already have the programa locked into their entry fee, they are pretty damn aggressive here. First girl I meet and she latches on pretty tight. She was quite cute though, reminded me of porn star Micah Moore. I talked to her for a bit, then walked around some more. For some reason, I ended up back talking to that same first girl. Cindy. Had a pretty good vibe from her, I guess. After some drinks, we went up to the cabine for a 40-minute session. The cabine was quite roomy, had nice decor, and a nice full size bed. As for the session itself, it was nothing special or wild. More like love making, which I enjoy also. So I got her number and figured I would try to make plans with her in a day or 2.

I went back down to the boite just to look around and savor the moment. After all, I'm not coming back to Centaurus again. Or will I? Damn, I wish I were rich and that these prices didn't matter to me! It would be my favorite watering hole just purely on the stone-cold stunners there, I think. I ended up running into an old friend from another terma. We sat down for a drink and did some catching up. Of course the girl Cindy that I sessioned with came down and saw me with this other girl. She's probably mad, but oh well. I was just chatting with the other girl, so we'll C.

In conclusion, I would say I really like Centaurus and if I were independently wealthy, I would definitely frequent the place.

last friday, the day before the romp with t69 and ipm (report here: http://internationalsexguide.info/fo....php?p=1053226), i managed to squeeze in a visit to 4*4. my first observation is that it was significantly less crowded than during my previous visits. not empty, mind you, but one could simply walk through the main boite without having to push lots of bodies aside; the vip boite upstairs was closed when i checked around 6. second observation, since the introduction of the electronic tag key system, there seems to be no more asking for tips from the barkeepers and waiters. third, the part of the main boite where the glass-walled shower was is now a simple stripper pole (not used all night …). and forth, sadly the strip shows have become much less wild, tame almost by comparison to what i had seen during previous visits.

i went to 4*4 my usual way, with the metro. this is the safest and fastest way to travel to centro from the copa in my mind. plus it is cheap: 2.8r is the price for a single fair now. since i always select the premier copacabana hotel right at the sequiera campos metro station, it does not get any more convenient than using the metro to get to downtown. got off at uruguaiana, walked the 2 blocks, bingo.

Google makes billions off their emplyees and the employees are able to make 100k or a million a year. The company has a right to make as much as possible. They take the risks and deserve the rewards. Locals and foreigners who are regulars can pay just the entrance fee upfront. Once you pick a girl - and we all know that you will - you go downstairs to the reception to pay before you head up to the rooms.

A few locals and even fewer foreigners who are very well known at Centaurus are allowed to settle the entire bill upon exit. I find myself in this category but this is after many many years of knowing the managers.

I most definitely am not a regular at Centaurus. On my infrequent visits I pay just the R100 entrance. The other R20 is the tourist tax (I´m a Brit, but I expect they think I am Brazilian). Never really understood the arrogance of this place. The BS of returning to pay for the session before kills it for me.

Well, that's not entirely accurate. There are elements from BOTH the left and the right that work together on "anti-prostitution" laws and policies. It's just their reasoning and/or motivation that differs. For the left, it's about stopping "exploitation" of women (e. G., NOW) and for the right, it's more about promoting certain religious or societal "values" (evangelical groups, etc.) since men searching for carnal pleasures outside the marriage or girlfriend framework is somehow bad for the society.

Balcony/Dolce Vita. Check typical prices here to make sure you're not getting ripped off. The Zona Sul termas prices you see below are not representative of the cost of good sex in Rio. Your first day in town, freerange girls will smell the newbie on you for a km and may try to play you with high prices and/or lowered services. They hang out in that part of town specifically because guys in that area can be typically worked for more money than elsewhere in town. IMO, best to start elsewhere to get off to a gain a footing and then try Zona Sul. I'd recommend that you take the 455 Copacabana-Meier bus from Ave. Nossa Senhora Copacabana and hop off after Candelária Church, can't miss the big dome. Hail a cab to take you 5 mins to 4x4, 44 Buenos Aires. Take a girl back before 5 and the entrance fee is waived. RTF for more info. If you start out this way, you're almost guaranteed a good session, plus you've learned the bus to the many low priced treasures of the Centro venues and VM. Then when you go back to Copa, you'll be oriented and have good baseline expectations on quality and service when you deal with your freerange girls. Don't be afraid to send a girl back with just taxi money if she's not meeting providing the 4x4 level of service at the typical ladybar prices given here by the ladybar guys, there are lots of fish in this sea.

Gentlemen, knowing Centaurus and its managers since 1995 I can say that the rule for newebies is: pay the whole entrance fee before (pay per view. And then take 1 girl to have 40'cabine sex), but, if they see you several times and realized that you spend enough money to be considered a regular they only charge the plane ticket entrance (actually R$ 120) and you pay all the girls/drinks when you leave.

To be honest in my experience, having been there more than 200 times, it's very difficult to leave Centaurus without any action (more than 80/100 carioca girls everyday, 10 % of them are 8-10').

It may simply have something to do with when you arrive, not how. We were told on the phone that if we made it in before 9 pm, they could waive the full fee for us, and we would only have to pay the 120R entrance fee. I can see that they think that nobody can withstand several hours of the garota onslaught inside. Whereas when you arrive at 11 or midnight and do not find something suitable right away, you may be tempted to just not have a session. In order to avoid this, they may insist on the full fee including the session fee much more stringently for the late arrivers.

I have never paid the the full amount up front. In fact you are the only one that I have heard of that has had to pay it after asking it to be waived. Don't know why this is.

The only time I was asked to pay the full amount upfront I didn't go in. That night they said "we are so full we don't have the time to keep having guys come down and pay the difference before they take the girl". My friend went in and was totally ripped off. He paid all upfront, then grabbed a girl after about 30 minutes and booked a cabine. He was still waiting after another hour for the cabine to be free, he couldn't wait any longer because his girlfriend was due to get to his apartment after work. Do you think he got a refund, of course not. They are complete assholes at the front counter.

Maybe it is my shifty appearance. I have actually walked out twice when they first started this crap on me but like you say, they are completas at the front desk. I explained to them that I had been coming there for a long, long time, more than 15 years, but they didn't care if I walked or not. So, I decide if I am going to go or not and just put it out of my mind.

They have actually been doing this to customers for a long time. I remember years ago them asking for it up front from some guys coming in as I was leaving. I don't know how I got to this low status but I am there. Maybe it is because I have become so good at dressing down, they think I don't have the money?
