There are many styles, but we here all have a lot in common. We're mongers and not the guys who sit at home thinking about it or the ones who come to Rio but are too scared of STI, muggers, their priest or whatever to go out and have fun..

I received a good question in PM and want to bring it here. How much is the typical cost of mongering in Rio, how much money to bring? The inquirer is getting conflicting stories on total cost at places and wanting 15 girls in a week. It can be confusing, with entrance fees varying by entrance time, drink costs varying, girl costs varying. So what's the index look like?

I think it's dependent on how you do it, of course. Let's go by style of fast foda since freerange cost varies so much. I'll estimate a little high to cover public transit costs and contingencies. Anyone agree or disagree?

Robed Rump Rooter:

~R320 damage per girl at the termas including entrance fees and a few drinks. Could escalate fast if girls are working you for drinks.

As a point of reference, a mix of 23 sessions across the above costed me about R3500 inclusive of my daily food and transit but not hotel. But I was eating at kilo places, pasteis, etc and not drinking much beer. Bus instead of taxi. Sleep in a bed at a VM casa for R10 per night instead of a hotel. Also, I've never seen a small local business pay weekly providing it has legal employees on the books. Off the book employees? Yeah, they might get weekly or bi-weekly. For the rest of us sods, it's monthly. Seriously. Ask around more.

Why do you think we calculate wages in monthly instead of annually or weekly terms here?

Speak to the locals there in bunda land and you can confirm the info being made available to you. Most can't go a whole month without seeing any cash. Plus there is a strong posibility of working a whole month and not getting paid at all. The major corporations and the government institutions can get away with that, but not your typical local small business; they will pay weekly or at worst every 2nd week. Over 75% of the people there work for small businesses.

I've worked for six employers in Brazil so far: two government and 4 private. The government never faulted on a check, nor did the one big international corporation. The three other private firms. Well, let's put it this way, the last one I worked for was three months in arears when I quit. Only multinationals or the feds for me from now on.

Occasionally, the state organizations will fluff a payment and the city is notorious for this. But I've got friends who've worked for the federal government for 35 years and have never had a late check.

Trust me, more of us actually enjoy first hand information of the scenes in our favorite playground than those who stand on the sidelines and criticize how other people have fun. Just ignore the negativity, enjoy yourself and keep writing those vivid reports. I will be there next month and your information was priceless in setting my own agenda. Your goal of 21 women in 7 days was great. I have been with other members in this forum who have done more. The reason they don't post, well, read the feedback you got! And add up all the time you spent traveling around all over Rio looking for lower-cost sessions with average babes, and your cost in $ and time gets expensive. I am new to ISG, this is only my second post. My first post was in the Medellin, Colombia board last night. I just returned from my first trip there a few weeks ago and had a blast. The ladies were beautiful, but I miss my bonita Garotas

Since then I've returned to Rio four times. I was at 'Help' on its last night (Jan 5th) this year, and subsequently witnessed it's complete destruction as I stayed thru Carnaval

I've been advised that locals get paid on Thursdays, so all venues will be packed with locals from late that afternoon and Fridays. Those with disposable income, of course are going to satisfy their libidos with some sweet, young thing. I try always going early and not during those days if possible. Things are back to normal on Saturdays.
