I went with my Thai lady friend to the Casablanca boate. It's expensive, the cheaprst lady drink is a 100 real bottle of champagne. A glass of whiskey with Coke is 500 reals. Entrance is 100 reals, which includes 2 drinks.

I've been to scandallo, and Perola, and I would tell you:

The best girls at Perola like Penelope are just as good or better than the girls at Scandallo -- but there is no beach in SP. Further, the best girls at the best prives in RJ are as good as the top SP girls.

I understand, there is more money and higher prices so that attracts the best girls from all over Brazil, so you can argue that SP has better talent, especially if your tastes are not for negras and mulattas.

That said, look at Barravips or Riosexsite.

You can only fuck so many girls in a week or however long your trip is. RJ is a megacity of 12 m and SP of 20 m. You can't fuck all the girls on Barravipsrio.com in your trip and say that Rio doesn't have the same talent as Scandallo. I've been to Scandallo, and the girls there are not any better than the top girls at Perola and Solarium and 4 x4 (if you actually live here, you realize they all go back and forth, and now, the best rio girls are going to SP, because they can find bigger suckers -- oh, I mean clients to pay them more in SP).

Anyway, I've blocked all the usual suspects that I go back and forth with, and I don't really care -- the customer is always right, I've learned to say. But Rio is the best city in the world for mongering, IMHO, because of the beach, the waterfalls, the food, the culture, carnival, and the Rio attitude of Libertines. SP is business. And if you need to go to SP, it is a 50 dollar or less bus or plane ride away.

Yeah, there is no place in RJ that comes close to Scandello's league or even Bomboa (SP's #2 Boate). A fair brothel comparison for Perola Negra would be the Brooklin Club in SP.

And while we're on city vrs. City brothel comparisons: Casuara vs 4 x4 is an interesting matchup. Casarao has more girls and its girls are FL's. So, you can take the girls out of the club. 4 x4 girls work for the house and the girl's price is set by management. Both places are pretty amazing and have relatively similar pricing. I personally think Casarao has more, better looking girls than 4 x4, however.

Another very competitive brothel comparison would be Bahamas Club vs. Solarium. In this case I think the two clubs are pretty evenly matched. Girl quality is similar, the number of girls available is around the same, and prices are somewhat similar too although Bahamas is more expensive, and the decor is more upscale. Bearsi is right about Arrial do Cabo that is in a national park and mostly protected from shitty developers. But add to that the nearby Saquarema and some places dotted along the coast heading east. A couple of hours flight north takes you to Salvadore in Bahia and for the adventurous, Itacare. This part of Brazil has gorgeous beaches, fresh seafood and Salvadore has a scene where you can get lovely young women on the usual sites plus a few discreet and stylish bordellos. Or BYO lady if going on a surfing, fishing or diving adventure. You can body massages on the beach too while you zone out on the sound of the ocean. After that, a nice meal and time for a BJ timed for sunset. Many Brazilians have not seen these places and happy to go, and if you treat them well like normal girl you will get some amazing GFE experiences.

I happen not to agree 100% with this description of all of Costa Rica, but I temper my remarks by noting that it's been a long time since I have been to Costa Rica, and it was all pre-pandemic. You could walk across "Gringo Gulch" to this little place across the street (forget the name of it) where there was live music and a restaurant. I remember there also was this club called "El Quartel" or something like that with people packed in standing shoulder to shoulder for live music. I went there one time with a blonde head turner from Colombia (doorman told me I was living "la pura vida" hahaha). Now, if you wanted an atmosphere that was more quiet and laid back with tutes "milling about", then that would be the Sportmens Lodge, which is still kicking.

I think we are in general agreement on Costa Rica vs San Jose. I do think Steve could have a blast in CR, but I don't think it would be better than Rio. If he hasn't the time for Jaco, that rules out the beach. We also both find the Rio girls generally hotter than CR girls whether they are from a country near CR or a true Tica.

Steve is also posting on the San Jose board and getting a taste of the vibe. I think some of the members have confirmed the number of girls is down. The Del Rey is a shell of its former self. However I think we all know that if we are sitting across from a hotty that we are about to bed, it doesn't matter where we are at and how many girls are in the building.

Here are some key points between the two cities:

Rio is far more cosmopolitan than San Jose. Steve seems to like nice restaurants, bars and clubs, but again it's a short stopover. So perhaps he will focus on hooking up.

Rio has a beach right out the front door.

Rio girls are hotter, more adventurous and more diverse. If anal is your game, I think it's easier to find in Rio.

San Jose is easy to get to from North America, but Steve's itinerary has him in Sao Paulo.

Beaches.

Copa is tourist hell as you constantly get bugged every 10 steps on the beach.
Ipanema is better but still have guys bugging you.
Barra has the best beaches where the only people who bother you are the beach chair people so not so bad. They also have nice beach club restaurants where in copa / ipa they just have little finger food booths.

Girls, girls, girls:

-4 X 4-. Still one of the best termas in Rio. I went here every other day while here.
Overall still top 3 places in Rio.

-SOLARIUM-. I believe this is the most upscaled place out of all the termas in rio. Not comparable to anything in SP but for rio it's the best you can get.
The girls here are so much nicer, friendly and hotter than any place I've been to thru out all 5 times I've been to rio. .

So here are a few thoughts I have had after reading Bearsi's excellent RJ report:

Beaches: I am into natural beaches, so for me there is no stretch of beach in RJ better than the Praia the Reserva, Barra the Tijuca which begins at the Grand Hyatt. But it is not a pick-up beach. Ha Ha.

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS: There are only 2 Termas in RJ that I really like. Solarium & 4 x 4. Bearsi describes them very accurately. I would only differ with him on the best time to visit 4 x 4. I prefer going later at night to catch the party party. On Dolce Vita & Casablanca: I really want to check these 2 joints out. I need more than my 2 favorite termas to justify another side trip to RJ and I believe I have it with these two bars or whatever they are called.

Prives: yeah, quality does matter. It is just my opinion, but SP clinicas are worth doing and I like them & with most RJ Prives not so much. I know some guys like the Prives and go to them a lot. That's fine with me. Do what makes you happy. But I am not a fan.

BarraVips: During the Covid lockdown I focused on this source, and I met a bunch of nice girls. The girls looked like their photos and service was always good, but I prefer going out rather than ordering in. Plain & simple.

Bringing Sand to the Beach: I particularly enjoyed reading this section of Bearsi's report. KKK. I have taken my favorite BKK girl to Phuket and I flew my favorite Yangon girl to BKK. Yeah, it's kinda crazy bringing sand to the beach, but I had a good time, both times, and the girls loved it, so what the fuck although normally it is a better idea to take favorite girls to some place that does not have girls. As to RJ, it has beaches (urban except for the Barra Praia the Reserva) and the cityscape looks spectacular. RJ also has a decent nightlife, and therefore, it is definitely worth checking out or revisiting from time to time. It is a short flight from SP.

There's nothing wrong with Monte Carlo. It's just smaller with fewer girls. If one is staying nearby in Copacabana, it's work a look. I'm not sure if I would make it a trip to go there. I have enjoyed 4 x 4 and Solarium more. The bar area in 4 x 4 usually has much more energy. However, some guys like to hit as many venues as possible. On a short trip, you should probably focus on a few.

Depending on your schedule, you might want to have made a connection before Sunday comes around. There is also a vibrant escort scene if you are looking for action Sunday afternoon.

Now these sons of onions want to charge you 200 up to 500 USD for one tickets or round trip if you book late. You should always book your flight from SP to Rio ahead of time to avoid this. Sometimes the price isn't too bad but if you book ahead of time they usually can be had for around $40 USD.

Since I wasn't sure if I was going to stay more time in SP I opted to get a leito cama bus from SP to Rio which is a 6 hour bus ride. So the thing about the leito cama is that it is a fully reclinable seat that is pretty much the ultimate lazy boy. You hardly feel any bumps on the road and they stop half way at a buffet place where you pay for the weight of the food....

Then there were a few upscale strip clubs with hot girls for takeout (not the American-style bull we know), and I remembered pulling a smoking hot Colombiana (a 10 on my scale) named "Xiomara" from one of those joints to go back to my hotel in Escazu (nicest part of San Jose) for sex (she proposed it LOL). You know she had to be hot as I still remember her name and looks to this very day. She told me I was a "buen polvo" (Colombian Spanish for a "good fuck" hehe). Then too there were the "pensiones" or little casas where you could go and find nice small stables of girls waiting just for you! After the Del Rey closed (its since opened again), a lot of the heavy action moved to Jaco and the Cocal, another "party hotel". I guess my objection is that your descriptions make the place sound like some sleepy little hamlet or something, and that's definitely not the Costa Rica I knew (again talking pre-pandemic). There were so, so many options, sleepy and on speed! Why, the current population of the San Jose metro area today is about 1. 5 million people. No, that can't compete with Rio in terms of size, but the place is more than large enough and "sex tourist concentrated" enough that you can find some "pace" in Costa Rica if you want to. At least you could pre-pandemic anyway.

The reason why I stopped going to Costa Rica is because I discovered Brazil where the menu suited my sexual appetites so much better. I found Brazilian girls on average to be prettier per my tastes (with lots of them being brancas), sexier, less inhibited (dirtier), and far better in bed skill wise than the average Ticas and Colombianas working in Costa Rica. And when it comes to delivering PSE sex, well I haven't found any country in the world better than Brazil for that, including a penchant for offering anal sex! So if you like taking pretty girls in the ass, then you know Brazil is simply Heaven on this earth LOLOL! Costa Rica (and most places) can't compete. Not even close.
