I just got back from 9 days of fun in Rio.

I spent many hours reading these posts and reports before I went, so I was armed and ready with information. Thanks to you all.

First a little background. I'm 40 years old, but am regularly told that I look 28. I am just under 6ft tall. Most women describe me as good looking. I just finished P90x, so I have most of a six pack, guns, back. Ect. (I'm relatively fit). I am black, and no stranger to urban environments. I have mongered in the DR 3 or 4 times.

Safety

Maybe it's just me, but I feel this is blown out of proportion a bit.

I followed simple rules. Have a "presence", look people in the eye. Always have a wingman.

My apartment was on Sousa Lima. Not once did I ever feel unsafe or in any danger, and I regularly walked those streets at 2-3AM during my stay.

Pricing/Women

I am very picky, yet I had no issues finding top quality (stunners, 9-10's, dimes, etc.) beautiful women. My primary hunting ground was Dolce Vita/Balcony. I usually paid R150, and never paid more than R200. Every single girl stayed until after 10AM. Some came back later in the day for free.

Did I get turned down? Sure, once or twice. But by the end of our stay those same girls changed their minds. My wingman and I had developed a reputation of nice guys who don't BS and pick a different girl every night.

For you guys who say that Balcony/Dolce sucks. I can't even imagine what Help was like. I had a great time.

My wingman and I have always had a bit of a different philososphy with the girls than some guys. We respect the girls, and treat them like girlfriends for the night. We are clean and smell good, our apartment is clean and smells good. We have separate bedrooms, and bathrooms. We have music, drinks, toothbrushes, soap, socks, candles etc for the girls. I'd like to think that they actually enjoy spending time with us.

We hit most of the other clubs/bars listed in various posts. By the end of the night we somehow made it back to Dolce Vita many times. I'm not sure why Barbarella is mentioned here as some great quality spot. IMO I didn't see any better there than at balcony.

As stated my previous mongering has only been in the DR. I have caught the occasional lame fuck in the DR. I was really surprised at the passion that these brazilian women have. Every single girl tried to fuck the shit out of ME no matter what position we were in.

Termas

We hit 4X4, Luomos, Centaurus, Monte Carlo and Solarium.

All of them were about the same, except for Centaurus, which was head and shoulders above in quality of girls, ambiance (and price). Centaurus. Was off the chain. Fine assed girls with a nice place/ambiance to get comfortable. I had two girls at once for the first time of my life. It was cool, but looks more fun in pornos.

In most of the other termas. If we saw girls we liked we got their phone numbers and hooked up after they got off, or on their off day.

Non Pro's

We did not partake of any non-pro action. I don't speak any Portuguese, but even that wasn't the primary reason. We simply ran out of time. We went to Club Six, Via Show (amazing real Brazilian experience), Bux (Hot, wealthy women), and Bottinetti (sp). We also met women in shops, at the mall, etc. We got plenty of phone numbers, and probably could have fucked some of them with a little effort.

It was just easier, and less work to get a pro. We didn't have time to "date" a non pro.

So, I can't wait to get back. Would really like to see Bahia, and will definitely improve my Portuguese for my next trip.

My experience at 2a2 was that the girls (actually more like women) I saw were not nearly as attractive as the girl I brought.

You're right but I also noticed something last night, I saw a few stunners, runway model types that I would have done anything to be with but their men were pudgy and balding and my girl didn't want to be with them. The couples we were with the men were young and in shape, so my girl was attracted to them, so she had fun too.

I am interested in checking out some of the other places mentioned since they seem more spacious and are geared toward a younger crowd.

Speaking about safety, I have been in Rio for a few days, and hoping to do some hobbying at L'Uomo when my meetings are over. But, when walking along the promenade at Ipenama Beach after dinner, my Brazilian hosts got very worried about a couple of guys that they felt were targeting us and made us get on a bus just to avoid being robbed. This was under the lights on a very busy street with lots of people around.

Given that I only speak English and stick out like a sore thumb as a tourist, is going to L'Uomo, even by taxi, safe? Should I go to Monte Carlo instead, since maybe it is easier to locate without walking around Copacabana at night? What's a reasonable time to go to the termas safely?

I'd hate to miss the termas experience since I have hobbied all over the world, but now I'm thinking twice about going.

If guys are following you too close, do a wide u-turn and walk back toward them. It will momentarily throw them off and, if you then find that you need to run, you have several seconds of advance reaction time on them, and are probably headed back toward a safer area that you have already passed through.

With that said, I see it worked out for you. But there will always be some paranoia for some first-time people and I'd recommend they stay at the Copacabana Premier hotel and experience the benefit of a nice safe walk to both L'uomo and the metro station. Bar 22 and NS Copa apartments are also nearby. Then as comfort increases, you can move to a different hotel if needed.

Break 'em in for me..hopefully I am down there again in May.

I paid this girl 400 reais but in my opinion it was well worth it. Considering it would cost you that in Centaurus for 40 minutes, I banged 5 nice girls plus had a full evening with a show and fun with different people, I had a great time. This is not a cheap night by no means, my girl only had 1 alcohol drink, I drank Black Label and red bull, my tab including cover was 230 reais, so total cost for the night was 630 reais, you only live once, this aint no dress rehearsal.

Friday night I go to 2A2 with the Blond from Hotside, she’s actually calling me now an escort from Hotside.

We get in the club, get a drink, sit down at a table with a young couple, she is so Blond I wonder if it is real or not. Actually it's Rocinha, not Rocina, and yes, I know what it is. And no, I didn't realize it was a joke; I guess your humor is just too subtle for me. I thought you meant you were staying NEAR Rocinha, not in it. After all, Rocinha is right next to Sao Conrado, one of the upscale suburbs, and to the Intercontinental, a luxury hotel, so it isn't that far-fetched that you would be staying out there. As Steve Martin used to say, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!

Today Thursday started out as cloudy and rainy. I was a top the Marriott hotel during the day about 11 am, the sun wanted to come out, there were some female tourist there, one I spoke to was from the UK, Other two was so white looked like Americans. Then a nice couple comes to the pool, he is white, she is bronze and sweet and beautiful, I admire them.

The one girl tells me business is better for her now because in Help there was more competition and now in the Marriott she gets business men to pay her price and she is out of there in less than an hour.

The girl from the pool enters the bar with a friend and sit next to me, I ask her if she knows who I am from today at the pool and where is her boyfriend, she says he is sleeping, I tell her then she must have done a good job on him. She says he is leaving soon and she is looking for a new boyfriend. They ask me if I'm staying in the hotel, I tell them I am staying in Rocina. I don't like her personality and everybody moves on.

I go to Melt, nothing happening

I go to Shenanigans, nothing happening.

I go to Emporium and nothing is happening

I go to Balcony and nothing is happening.

I go to Dolce Vida and it is packed, many girls approach me and former bouncers from Help, everybody is hugging me, I see the famous Juliana, she lost 8 kilos by easing up on the drinking, she looks good.

I spot a young cute very white skin girl with jet black hair, we connect, I talk to her about the swing club, she is interested to come with me some , she likes the idea and has been before, she likes girls and guys, she wants to do some heavy screwing.

Again, The Marriott has very tight security, believe me, you cannot operate the elevator without a security card, so the furtherst you can go as a Joe Public is the bar, thats it.

Some hotels including the Sheraton have packages you can buy to use their facitities, like the gym, the pool and the beach service. The marriott has the same thing, daily, weekly and monthly packages. The monthly is 200 reais, weekly is 120 reais.
