Time isn't my issue at all. Money isn't a big issue, but these new prices I'm hearing at termas in reports are out of control. 1 hour with a girl and 1 water $450 reals. What is that about? I use to do Help, TA, and the first and 2nd level termas. Even the 2nd level termas were getting out of hand on my last trip. NS Copa 583 was charging like $150 reals a year ago if I remember correctly. and that was at a 2.25 to 1 Dollar exchange rate. I never thought I would say this but i'm almost ready to suck it up, lose my 40% on the dollar and try Europe. I would like to hear more reports and prices from mongers on the ground in Rio so any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you are serious about trying Europe, then I would suggest you think about giving Ukraine a try. No visa required for Americans, Canadians, Brits, or Europeans. But that might change after the February election so if you are thinking about it go quickly. IT's probably won't but you never know. Go and look at the Ukraine (Kiev) posts on this forum for the low down. Once you get there it's more affordable than you might think. There's no beach but there are plenty of other compensations!! Affordable apartments, good restaurants and gorgeous girls. You can fly there fro London for $140 each way. Check out some recent posts by CruiserD. He's there now and sounds like he's having a ball.

Jake, accommodation is much cheaper in SP than in Rio. About half cheaper I'd say, both for hotels and serviced apartments. For example, Mercure Apartments cost 150/200RS in Sao Paulo (in the best areas), as they cost 350/400 RS in Rio. There's also great weekend bargains in SP, which doesn't exist in Rio.

Anyhow I fully agree. Sao Paulo has the best looking girls, the best boites, the best strip bars, the best clubs, the best after-hours, ect this side of Atlantic ocean.

Not even talking of Love Story, which is simply the best pick-up club on the planet in the history of mankind, bar none.

How Luka, an adventurous man of good taste who has already travelled to the best untapped areas in FSU, can persist to monger in an overrun and nasty touristic shithole like Rio is beyond me.

I was in Rio on the last night of Help and for several nights afterwards back in early January. Essentially, from what I saw, heard, and experienced, this is how it is going to shake out at least for the time being: The highest end Help girls, the 8's and 9's, 21-28 year old, lighter skinned specimens, will be doing their thing out of Barbarella for the most part (at least the ones who can deal with some level of management control and oversight); the high end that don't want to deal with that will be freelancing in places such as Melt, Shenanigans, and/or 00. The lower end Help girls will be working at Balcony and Avenida Atlantica for the most part. In my opinion and experience Balcony has been flooded with the bottom of the barrel favela rat types because there is no control about who enters the place for either customers or garotas. I would also be careful about Balcony because there were a large number of street hustlers floating around the place as there is no security from what I saw.
Believe me, there are still a plethora of options for scoring nice pussy in Rio de Janeiro. The number of part-timers available will not be going down anytime in the near future as long as the average salary in Rio is less than R$ 1000 per month. For high end girls at the fairest price, I recommend frequenting the places I listed above and also high end termas with the idea of entering, banging the garota one time in the termas, getting her phone number, and then having her available on reserve outside the termas for a much better value.

But even yesterday after Shenanigan's ( where I laugh to see there one girl from Centaurus and two that played hard to get and then they show up at Balcony ), a short walk to prado juniour the scene was the same.

Believe it or not, all the mongers I spoke with, told me they do not like now Rio, 1 retired 64 yo from USA used to come here 3 months per year, told me, he wont come back again. You raise an interesting question. But I suppose it all depends on how much effort you want to put into it. I think HELP just made EVERYONE sort of lazy. Both us and the girls. We always knew that one way or the other we could just wander down to the meat market pretty much any night of the week and pick up some "take-out". Conversely, the girls always knew that they had a pretty fair shake of getting a trick by going down to HELP any night of the week provided they were willing to be competitive.

To say that mongering is dead in Rio is ridiculous. It's certainly not as dead easy as it was before, but the game has certainly changed. And while some of the girls have moved on to greener pastures, I would bet that more than 50% of them are still living in Rio. The question is, "where are they"?

If you have limited time and inclination to go out and blaze a new trail, then you are probably better off going to Colombia or Peru. Or hell, why not try Sao Paulo? Accommodations are more expensive, but pussy comes in all price ranges and there's no shortage of it. But damnit, someone has to figure out and figure out the new game and report it to the rest of us. I have business reasons for being in Rio several times a year and I will certainly be looking for the new "path" on my next trip.

Well for starters I arrived two days ago.

I was old that brazil has pretty good termas so I asked around about the termas.

I was that MC and Luomo are one of best in copacabana.

So I went to check them out MC (Monte Carlo) was pretty empty but there are some nice looking girls did not like the way the girls talked to so I just sat around had few drinks on my out I met a british guy that was going to to luomo so I joined up with him when we got there we where greeted by a very friendly security guard at the he opened up for us and we went in at the reciption we where told about the prices and how the house works.

So as a long time contributer to this board, I have a question for fellow mongers. Is it still worth it to come to Rio. Sounds as if the Help closing has put the mongering scene into chaos and prices have spiraled totally out of control over the last couple years. It sounds like a trip to a terma is now costing almost US $200 and the talent level is way down. Somebody please either convince me that it's the same old Rio or tell me that I should try Colombia or somewhwere else instead. LOL. Thanks.
