    Smooth Slim,

thanks very much for your kind words, I like to write and to try to make feel the ones at home here, to satisfy their, normal, curiosity especially in these times of big changes from the end of Help.

Yet not been to Montecarlo, I will do it asap, however I was talking in luomo with one girl who said, many were thinking Help girls could end to terma, honestly in 4x4,solarium and luomo none Help girls.

I guess it is cause Help girls are basically very lazy to have a work everyday for about 9 hours per day. I think for them, looking to their sad and angry faces in Balcony, is even harder than for us that Help is over.

Thanks you too, I am happy you enjoyed.

So guys, yesterday after solarium, I'll report later, I went to sleep at 23h, cause really I had no mood to go to Balcony and/or the prado junior boite walking, wasting of money, effort and I am not Tom Cruise for the impossible mission to find a friendly, nice, overnight girl down there.

Honestly I feel a bit "stupid2 to go to sleep so early, I am in holiday right ? But so far as here all changed, so I thought let's try something different.

Well this morning I woke up at 7h and I went, after years, to run-footing on avenida atlantica, I went back, shower breakfast and I feel great.

Today is saturday, so maybe I will give a try somewhere, however for me it is quite good too, to wake up early, the day at the beach, totally relax ( I feel a new man now ) and afternoon terma until late evening and go to sleep.

It is something different from my usual holiday when I am up in the night and sleep during the day to enjoy night life, but it is not so bad.

About the photos, tomorrow will arrive simpleminded with his friend, so first of all my english, talking everyday with them, should get a bit better in my reports and second all the pictures I took were with his camera, a very small one, that it is easy to be hidden in the small pocket to the terma bathrobe

    Have fun everywhere you are

Wow 450R is expensive. You take a girl with 150R from balconi my friend says but I didn't ask him what the girls look like! I'm going to Rio next week I don't think I am going to centaurus with those hight prices. I will try monte carlo, I did that last year hade some fun with a stunner. You have any other Suggestions?

    First time in Rio!

    Hey guys,

After reading this forum for a few days, and getting aware of what to do and what not do while I'm in Rio. Maybe you guys can help me out with one issue.

I was highlly recomended by a friend to use www.Thewonderfulcity.com to rent an apartment in Rio for my first trip from 09th Feb to 25th.

Does anybody had use their service? Does anybody had rented from Fred or Margareth before?

I'm already touching bases with them, Spoke to Fred on the phone, he sounded like a nice guy. It's a familie business, they are one ofthe first vacation agencies in Rio. Anyway I'm on the way of getting the apartment from them, I just want to get some of the experts opinion.

    Thanks a bunch!

I'M looking at the clouds and thinking VM is not a good place to be when it rains. But it seems a waste not to do something. I pick a 20yr old girl called Camilla from the right hand of the U-Bend, second casa. * She's very petite, dances a nice butt-dance and does the cutesey come-on to me every time I go past. Decent performance in the room if not outstanding. She doesn't rush. Her clit swells to the size of an uncracked walnut but I don't sense she's going to come. Her breasts are a little loose for her age and I guess she's not nulliparous though I don't ask. Her party piece is doggy, when she shakes her butt the way she did when dancing. Rather nice. I crack off a couple of photos and show her. She has a very slight whitish discharge and I reassure her this is normal (which it usually is, especially when there's no smell, which there isn't). She's worked in VM for 3 months she says. Affectionate leave taking and I take another glance at the sky and dark looking clouds. The alleys of Mimosa soon get waterlogged and many of the roofs leak. And I think it tends to smell worse in the wet.

Love the medical report! Are you a doctor? Did you charge her for the advice? Had to look up nulliparous!

This is the part of town where I stay when I´m in Copa and I love every dirty muckhole of it. Just coming back from shopping though and for anyone else this end of town, if you are fed up with grubby Copa supermarkets and overpriced food, do try the Leme supermarket, 100yds past Isabel. Western-style hygeine and an attractive in-store lunch (pizza, pasta etc) for around 10R or less.[/QUOTE]

Chris, thanks for your informative posts. Could you explain where Saara is please? I also did my shopping in the Leme supermarket – which is on Copacabana about 300 metres (900 feet) past Princessa Isabella with the pizzeria – and found it to be the best priced and tastiest pizza and pasta in the neighbourhood (a basic pizza is only R9 which is good value). Although I never made it I've been assured by a non-mongering local friend that the same supermarket has a really good breakfast buffet up until midday. Will try it next time I'm back.

Just behind the supermarket on Rua Gustavo Sampaio is a video store called Macedonia. Inside is a little cafe that sells the best espresso based coffee in the area (although given Cariocas' indifference to quality coffee it doesn't have much competition!) I often go there to do some writing on my laptop and enjoy some quiet in a nice, modern European style air-conditioned environment. You also see some hot non-garotas renting a DVD which helps stir the loins for an evening's entertainment.

On the corner of Ns de Copacabana and Prado Junior is a sucos bar called Wind Sucos that does good Acai. Right next to this is a little hole in the wall sucos bar called (I think) Hiper Mate. The lads that run it are good fun if you get to know them. They speak almost incomprehensible Carioca Portuguese and know absolutely no English but I grew to like them and their careless ways. For instance, I ordered an omelette and rarely was it standard. Some days it would be a bit burnt, other days it had tomato in it, and on Sundays and holidays they wouldn't serve it at all. I never discovered why. The ketchup sachets they had were almost impossible to open without a serrated knife and the price they charged me for the same thing varied by a couple of Reals every time. I went there for the sheer perversity of the situation.

The cafe is situated right where all the freaks, disableds, favella-dwellers, brush salesmen, stool salesmen, office workers, delivery boys, she-males, GDPs and lunatics pass by. Many of them stop to buy fags from the news agent kiosk opposite. It was here I picked up my best and cheapest (R50) fuck of my holiday (see recent past post for more information on this.) A seat outside with your back to the wall offers a slice of slightly sleazy, real Rio life. I even witnessed an old alcoholic street lady knocked down and killed. Sad. The police arrived and lazily sat in their squad car while the public took control. The ambulance turned up, declared her dead and then drove off, leaving the locals to organise transport to the morgue.

Just down the road is the bar where all the night workers frequent, sometimes until 1pm when it seems to close. On my very first morning I saw a fist fight that caused only a moment's interest from the very stoned and drunk rabble stumbling around on the pavement outside.

I just returned from three weeks in Leme and think that due to Help's closure we will see a lot more action in and around Prado Junior, including Balcony. I too have heard that the Meridien may have a GDP disco in the basement but that remains to be seen. Would love it if this happened. Does anyone know who has purchased the hotel? A hotel chain would be unlikely to allow this sort of thing to occur wouldn't it? Not sure about Dubai. Who owns the hotels where this sort of thing goes on? Chain or private owners?

    Finally, a couple of thoughts:
In typical counter-intuitive Rio fashion I fell out with the management of L'Uomo, that Shangri La of a first-time monger's dreams. The reason was being hoodwinked into taking a suite rather than a basic room. I arrived early on a Wednesday to gain the pre-seven pm discount. Got all excited thinking I was going to get laid in a nice environment for R240. Almost the first girl I saw was who I fucked. Big firm arse, freckles on her face, blue eyes and a deep tan. She was there last year. I had the raging horn and she was easily the best of the bunch according to my tastes that afternoon.

We went to the boite and got down to business. In my stupidity I didn't pay attention to the room (as usual in the company of a hot girl stroking my inner thigh my brain had moved south). We got down to decidedly below-average business – no proper blowjob, not even covered, half-arsed kissing and a gaping arse hole that offered very little in the way of pleasure. On the plus side she could constrict her pussy to create extra purchase on my cock which always feels delightful.

After 40 minutes I asked if we should finish, then it dawned on me she'd booked me into a suite and for an hour rather than 40 minutes. No discussion. I initially assumed that because L'Uomo had had some refurbishment work the rooms were now a higher standard. My assumption was ill-founded. What followed was 20 minutes of frustrated sexual kicks. I tried to enjoy myself but was increasingly aware I'd been duped by this girl who was proceeding with a sloppy hand job. I'm under no illusion the girls who work in the Termas are in love with the customer but one can suspend ones disbelief for 40 minutes of pleasure and most of the girls are willing to play along.

At the end of the session I went straight to the English speaking receptionist who has always seemed a reasonable lady. I explained my predicament – that I hadn't requested a suite and that on 40 minutes protested about the situation. She gave the usual buyer beware argument. I continued to protest. I explained I'd been to L'Uomo on several occasions last year and never once was taken to a suite so I assumed that this year the refurbishments I'd noticed meant a general upgrade which included the rooms. She called the manager who point-blankly refused my complaint. I even suggested splitting the increased cost and putting it down to experience. No budging. After ten minutes I decided I was wasting my time. I told them I was a journalist (I'm not) who wrote about the sex industry for a living and didn't want to report that L'Uomo treated its customers with disdain. This was my final gamble. In the UK or especially US the management want to keep customers happy. An agreement is normally reached in the hope the customer will be keen to continue to do business. Not so in Rio it seems. Finally I told them that I would never come back to L'Uomo and would do my best to alert others to the dishonest practices that take place there. They've lost a good customer who was always keen to evangelise the termas. I won't return. Lesson learnt: always always check the small print and insist on a standard boite unless you are happy to be charged extra for a suite and an hour.

Second: no matter how hard you try to blend in, if you are northern European in appearance Carioca's will clock you. I dressed down like a local – cheap vest, Havainas deliberately scuffed, basic beach shorts, no watch etc but found it hard to blend in. Even running along the beach one evening in just a pair of shorts, three girls stopped me and asked in broken English if I could take their photo! I even had a good tan! Maybe I run like a northerner…
I witnessed a British man have a gold chain snatched from around his neck by a thief on a bike. This happened on the seafront and luckily community rallied round and caught the thief, gave him a slap and returned the chain. I myself was grabbed by a very high street dweller on New Year's Eve in front of lots of people on Ns Copacabana. No one intervened as he screamed he was going to kill me. Luckily he didn't, but it shows how gringoes stand out.

If you want to stay secure I advise you to do all or some of the following:
Dress down; no watches, jewellery, designer labels, phones on display.
Walk proud; walk like you mean business. Robbers prey on the weak. After my attack whenever I was out in a secluded area and felt threatened I walked tall and fast, with a swagger, chest out and with clenched fists. I may have looked a prat but I think I looked less inviting to potential muggers.
Double up; two people are harder to attack and intimidate. If you are going to somewhere you think may have a higher risk of crime try and go with a mate.
Be aware; when I was attacked I thought I was safe because I was on a busy street on a busy night, surrounded by people. I let my guard down and was in a little world of my own. If you see someone up ahead you don't like the look of don't be too proud to turn around. Cross the road before you get too close and stay in the light and stay on busy streets.
Having said all that, I'm still alive.

Finally, if you get chance, visit a favela. I've been to Rio's largest, Rocinha on an organised tour. It was an eye opener. I saw a 16 year-old with a machine gun, but I also saw a thriving community with shops, banks and cafes. At least a quarter of all Carioca's live in a favela of some sort. Seeing it will give you a greater understanding of this wonderful, perverse nation. Behind Leme is favela Babilonia-Chapeu Mangueria. It featured in the 1959 Oscar-winning film Orfeu Negro and in 2007's Golden Bear winning Trope De Elite. There is a police presence now although this causes its own problems in as much as there is no 'iron fist' in the form of the chief drug trafficker or 'mayor' to maintain civil life - houses are now being built with disregard for neighbours and petty crimes like dumping are on the increase. If you want a good tour of Babilonia I suggest you try this young lady:

    http://lemebabilonia.multiply.com/journal/item/3

She is very knowledgeable and lives within the community. It will open your eyes.

Now it is over and the others main places are totally different.
Balcony is a sort of take away, not much conversation, forget to see terma girls show up there as it was in Help, forget to have fun and to see girls dancing, forget to feel confortable as you stand up in 99% of time, forget or work hard to get a girl overnight too. And be aware that the young children that in fron of Help bothered you only when you got out of taxi, now they will ask you money all the time as they are around you, cause you are outside in fron of avenida atlantica, where everybody can be there....no dress code to be in the street LOL.
Thanks for such a detailed report. It is interesting to see how the scene is changing ... and not necessarily for the best.

I was in Rio and Help for New Years and the girls were worried about what they would do. More so than ever they were giving out phone numbers and email addresses hoping to keep in touch and build their business through person contact instead of a venue where everybody gathers. Since I have been back and have received many emails from those I exchanged email addresses with them asking when I will be back.

I also noticed that several Help girls had started to work in the termas. One in particularly, a short beautiful morena with long black hair is now working in Monte Carlo.

Other girls say they are gong to go to London or Madrid.

Lukasek your reports are very helpful early dispatches on the change in the Rio mongering scene. Some of us already miss Help, I do. I will be back in March and I will be following the report until then.

Thanks much for your reports. Have fun.

For people who frequented Help it seems to be a whole new world now. I've been doing the night shift in Rio for years, waking up at 11 pm from my nap, go for dinner then entering Help by 1 AM, looks like I'll have to modify my schedule as all the action will be gone by then.
-Your wellcome....no idea where shenanigans and lord jim are,but in one night you cannot travel in many places with hope to find a good one....

-instead now after solarium yesterday I did not went to sleep to wake up to midnight and go to help, but I slept until 6:30 am, went to run on avenida atlantica, not I take breakfast....I am more healthy guy for sure

Just a few words on Casarao since it isn't oft reported. I hit it in June of last year, around 6 PM on a weekday. It had an entrance fee, something low that I remember to be around $R12. There were about 5-6 girls in the boite at the time, 3 seemed to be drunk or asleep on the couch seating around the dance floor kind of area. I didn't see anything fit for duty, so I drank a beer, fended off a persistent chubby GDP, left and hit an apt. on Rio Branco.

Now I digress...Muito obrigado to all who have been providing the recent price updates. I plan to be back in Rio in April/May timeframe and am building a rough budget. I'll be coming off a 7 month stint of no mongering, and will be shafting as many garotas as my budget and vitamin tolerance will allow.

I hope like hell that Ent was not kidding below, but was LOL at the idea of lonely garotas in heels and minis sitting alone with buckets of beer and champagne and getting bright-eyed at the sight of a gringo with money and a flagpole in his pants . Sounds like my first trip to Brazil, 2005 when the Real was not so strong and the girls actually needed money and were trying to work us gringos for green cards/citizenship elsewhere. Now the situation is reversed and people are leaving the States for work in Brasil. Maybe P4P in North America will become cheap and plentiful above the Mexican border...a man can dream.

VM is sounding better and better versus the U-station area meat markets. The aggressive garotas at BA85 turned me off from sessioning there, despite the good price and availability. My ovos hurt from being grabbed hard several times and I thought my shirt would get torn off before I reached the top floor, literally. Like an American strip club, but with penetration. Instead, I'll hit VM, termas, and putting a special focus on lower end places for some nice non-hardcore favela girls. My perfect session was the one that I reported in June, the former Brenda at Flavia's' place. No words or salesgirlship needed..just pick, pay, shower, then time for romance..or my idea of it: DFK, 69, hardball anal, finish BBBJ. We shared a cigarette afterword while we stared at the ceiling, the she brought me a drink of water and gave me the full body massage until time ran out. Nothing says 'thank you for sodomizing me!' like cool glass of water and a nice deep tissue massage Where do they breed these garotas and how can we make more!?

I activate one of TIM every time I come to Fortaleza and they always ask for the original passport. They wouldn't take a xerox of it.

When a good restaurant turn into many fast foods

Once upon the time.... there was a good restaurant in the city, it HELPed many to get great time, you could love it or hate it, but it was almost the only place open after midnight. It was good cause even if you did not want to eat ( DATY ) you could go there, drink and talking and meet with friends, a place where a turist feel quite safe, a large place, so it was a point of meeting with somebody you met during the day, sooner or later almost everybody along the night went there at least to see the scene.

Even "better" is like yesterday when it rains all the time, with only 20-30% less people they are yet way too much, hold umbrella or you will pay more attention to find a place where not get wet as pussy than to hunt girls.....

Girls....yes, the feeling yesterday was to swim between sharks, but to swim in a very little pool, ugly sharks hungry of money they earn harder than in Help, so they are much more into "business attitude".....one example ?
Two little thin white skin girls they are all the time together, I banged one in january 2009, in september in Help they just say me hello, yesterday when they noticed me, immediately they came to me with 2 big smiles.....Hi ! How are you ? Long time we did not see you ! ( BS last time 4 months ago ) ! Do you want to have party with 2 girls for 300 reais ? Well, I arrived now, let's see ! They left and hit another one gringo. One minute conversation.

Nobody, obviously pay entrance, so it is a bit cheaper, but on the other side they do not have to stay there all the time, so they move up and down avenida atlantica, thinking wrong keep on moving 100 metrs up and down the streets will help them to find one customer.

Some directly get out of dolce vita and become SW trying to approach the cars, other go for boites and are back in half hour. Ok none asked me to buy drinks, ( the only better thing than Help ), but I got tons of unwanted hug, hand touching, 1 minute conversation, eye contacts....everything but not fun as in Help.

I report what I saw cause it helps you to understand better. 3 men arrived, one noticed one nice girl, the other 2 said bring her, he said I wait, one of the other two said, hey it is only 150 reais why you wait, why how, where, when ? He did not take her !

Yes it is 150 reais only, but me and not only me, are not in mood to take one to hotel, strange as so cheap and men are still thinking if it worth it, why ?
Cause you really get the feeling of very cold sex session....and it was raining....so at least girls should be get wet at least before the session if not during it...

Also I noticed a bit too much totally drunk men there, all seem to speak loud even if music is not loud at all, they are couple of cops, so you feel enough safe, probably now all prado junior with so much turists is even safer than before help closed....

However let's say something....from a POV of carioca 50 years old with family, it was much better all GdP and mongers closed in one place,Help, instead to this "show" outside....so they resolve nothing if they wanted to clean the sex scene in copa !

Oh yeah, Prado Junior....here my reports.

Barbarella at midnight was totally crowded, full of men sit down with bottles of whisky and wine on the table....I thought are they all millionairs, am I the only one I care where I spend money or what else ? But when I saw twice that the waiter bring the bill and in one table the men almost argue between themselfs and in the second one the waiter light on the bill and explain the bill....I realized they are not aware of the prices there....

It is the place with higher % of Help girl, the best ones, that they think of themself too high class to stay at Balcony, few of them arrived by taxi, paid the 60 reais and get into with the hope written in her eyes to get one customer.

There is a show in Barbarella I seem to be the only one I care.

You cannot smoke inside, so all the time I was outside smoking I saw that every 4-5men one left with one girl.....5-600 reais for one girl, I do not think I will go there again, even if the girls are nice.

Erotika wins the award for the coldest place, good place to get sick, 30 reais for 2 drinks and the only decent girl was talking with 2 other girls care nothing about horny men there.

Senso is a totally rip off, 50 reais for ugly shark, sad atmosphere, I drunk one coca cola and I left.

Pussycat is great place, cause you can go into to see girls without have to pay, so you need, at least me yesterday, 20 seconds to go into and out....

Niko's is shitty place, 15 reais for one drink, but ugly girls and if you want to talk with one, it is 40 reais for lady drink. Be aware they are smart, they have 2 girls at the corners trying to take you there inside, they are the best ones of the club, they say 18-20 girls and there were only 6. The worst place with no doubt at all.

I wanted to check cicciolina too, but I thought I wasted too much money in one night for no fun, no sex and the only good thing....2 days and will arrive two good friends of mine, so at least I will have fun, something I still did not have in my first 2 days here.

So, to make long short, Barbarella it worth it to see nice girls, but you have to be lucky to find one that stay for more than 1 hour or you pay too much for too little time, Cicciolina is the best one, or the less worst, but go there quite early and be ready when you see get into a nice girl to start immediately to talk with her, cause they no pay entrance, so if they do not get customer, they leave quite soon. It takes time, but I believe it is the only one boite where it is "easy" to get an GFE overnight.

Obviously during the afternoon I hit termas too, so soon a complete report from all the main terma, but so far, I am abit disappointed too.

Thanks for reading and hey...all is IMHO....

    Chris,

yes, spaghetti has two entrance, but even if good quality stuff, ( about pasta, they have "de Cecco", a bit less famous than Barilla, but much better taste imho) price are not very cheap ( pesto alla genovese about 4 euro when in Italy you get for about 2 ), but no doubt the best I saw here.
    (yep,mixed a bit)
