Frank's American Bar, located on Avenida Princesa Isabela, has been out of business since at least early November 2009. I was in Rio in mid-October and stopped into Frank's, it was dead inside, but at least open. Upon my return to Rio the first week of November the place was out of business, and was still out of business when I was in Rio last week. There was an early 20's smoking hot stunner named Simone working in there, from Mato Grosso with an absolutely stunning body and a large tattoo around her waist (which I normally despise, but this girl was the exception). I saw her in there two or three times over the past six months but never got to fuck her and maybe now never will. I used to like Frank's because the drink prices were reasonable and I would bring my first-time visiting buddies to the live sex show they had. Another one bites the dust.

It´s on the corner of Princesa Isabel (the main street that separates Copa and Leme) and Viv.Mineiros de Castro. As the boites go, I agree it´s probably one of the better ones. I used to see a girl who worked there regularly (but booked her outside which was cheaper). Prado Junior is the next street along, parallel to Isabel.

Was going to give Renata a quickie but talent in BA85 was quite good and I ended up shafting someone else. A few in the area that now seemed defunct (for listcheckers): BA93 (was oriente vip sala 513) - no joy. Vargas 633 (ap1618) no reply. Conceicao 116a now has a minimum drinks charge of 6R (looked ok but nothing I fancied). Acre 120 bored and laidback as usual - ok girls but they always look so unenthusiastic. They come out of the dimly lit room - about 6 of them - and stand there for me like it´s an imposition. Lazer 3 round the corner in Leandro Martrins is as awful as always. Two girls dragged me in and got huffy when I turned them down. The place is a sh*thole and they try ever more desperate measures instead of just making it a bit nicer. Almost next door at Lazer 5 is a place I usually quite like though - meaty handshakes from the entrance guy, nice place for a beer, and a good jukebox. Girls tend not to wear make-up, which was ok when they were fit, but today´s bunch looked unappealing. Afrodite was shut when I passed (2pm), with a p*ssed off gata on the phone outside trying to get in. (all these places are in the approx 1R per minute band - if you haven´t printed the map off the forum and don´t want to buy a Ruas (the RJ A-Z), get the free Riotur tourist map which now has a decent Centro road plan.)

Nice new place is Uruguiana 210 almost opposite Afrodite (look for the balloons over the doroway just now). This is just the far side of Pres.Vargas from Uruguiana station. Unsettlingly clean for the area. Charming young girl took me by the hand and gave me a tour. I chose the aircon suite (slightly pricier - 45R for half hour) and had quite a nice time. Large room decorated with beanbags, guitar cutouts on the wall and imaginative decor. Very unrushed. Heading down to Carioca59 cos I like to eat at Bar Luiz (good German specialties in immaculately run place). The internet shop on the way in Saara (on Conceicao just off Luis de Camoes) has a fast connection (Chinese run). Oh yes - the knock-off copy of the new Samba-enredos (songs) is in Uruguiana market already for 10R if you can´t wait.
