Been staying in Centro last two days. After my morning session with KM's Adrianna which I reported on below, I went to finally check into my hotel. (Note: They originally had a problem with my reservation at Ibis Hotel Centro and they were booked solid (with Brazilians coming in on a cruise ship layover) when I arrived for a pre-arranged early check-in (although not guaranteed). I was questioned myself a couple of weeks ago when I was asking some questions, and I find myself thinking twice to post again.

I'donk: I disagree that people here get angry and flame very easily. There are many guys here that have been contributing great FREE advice on their time for years (not me - I am a relative newbie that has benefitted greatly from this advice.) They are very patient and kind in answering questions and trying to be helpful. I certainly understand the frustration they have from constant newbies coming on here and asking entry level questions without doing any legwork. You know - the posts that start with "In Rio next week, need a girl friendly hotel, any suggestions? What do garotas cost? Where is the best place to date a non-pro?" By searching the archives and taking a few hours someone can learn a great deal about every aspect of Rio - not just mongering. They can garner the confidence and intelligence to really enjoy a first rate time in the Marvelous City.

Now that is not to say there are some disagreements and personalty clashes here. And I am guilty of some of those myself. But that is guys just being guys. But even those are entertaining as the guys are intelligent and sarcastic. You also see guys apologize for their dust-ups too. For the most part I have found the guys here very civil, very supportive and helpful.

I believe you are personally referring to the negative responses you received trying to secure a phone number and intelligence for the termas Black & White in your dogged pursuit of the porn star Luana. One guy here finally (after quite a few posts from you) suggested you simply go, find out and report back. And I and others concurred. Sometimes you have to take one for the team and contribute back. A. I didn't take one woman from Help this trip. All of my action came in the termas, with terma girls back at my apartment and with independents that I have maintained a relationship.

B. The girls of Help, MP and the beach were asking ridiculous prices. Starting at 400 and in many cases not wanting to go below 300.

It is not a flame. Just commenting on what I witnessed. The day was Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 at about 1:45 pm Maybe we are talking about two different days. Maybe big guys are a common sight in BA 85 I wouldn't know, because I have only been there a couple of times. I was amazed when I saw the three black men because it is not a common sight even in the USA unless you are talking to athletes. Again, two of the men were carrying backpacks. I later saw them in 4x4 hanging with a white guy. I introduce myself and said I saw them at BA 85 earlier. They laugh about the tight fit. Three of them were from the West Coast and one from the East Coast.

Slim. On a personal note, I don't require proof or even graphic accounts. But since you are someone who has (in your words), 'been to Rio about 20 times since 2002, ' a report of some kind would be quite nice don't you think?

It can all seem a bit blasé if you have read all the reports and feel there is not much new to add when you visit somewhere yet again. I personally don't need to have graphic accounts of people's action, though many forum members do enjoy this, and it gives flavour.

Can I suggest you put in at least one report. The things I like to know are where, when, how much you paid, the services offered, and whether you felt it was good value for money. Maybe throw in some small recognisable details about the location that have not been mentioned before. This, for me, not only adds some colour, but for others as well it shows you were actually there, which is a reasonable enough thing to want. Describing, for instance, the less-than-obvious shower facilities is both more helpful and more convincing than saying you happened to see a celebrity in Help, or that you saw people of a certain description in BA.

The purpose of the forum after all, is to help one another. Chat is nice. But it is sometimes a good idea to ask before posting, 'How will this post I'm making help other mongers? ' I'm not being antagonistic. And writing is not everyone's forté, much less writing technicolor descriptions in porn style. But a small contribution of some kind, as opposed to a comment, would be reasonable wouldn't you say?

In fact when he thought I attacked him previously, I was clear in explaining the rationale for my post and apologized for the misunderstanding. Sent him a private PM which he sought to ignore. His right. Changed my name because he had a point that it could be considered offensive. I'm not a person who just reads the site to flame people. Quite the opposite. The latest post was simply to state what I saw. Yes, I was there and can give more detail on that day that can be easily verified by Tijuana's sources. The three men that walked in came at a time when the workers were ferrying supplies up the staircase and the elevator shaft to the facility. It made the already small stairway crowded. I was in Rio Thanksgiving week and visited 4X4, Solarium, MC, Luomo, Centaurus and Help. Hung out in Lapa at Circo Voador and Estrela da Lapa. Help is a former shell of itself and has outlived it's usefulness. I had to laugh and agree with the comment by one poster that at times there were more European men dancing on floor by themselves then with women. I didn't take one woman from Help this trip. Centaurus by my account remains is the creme de la creme with 4x4 and Solarium tied for second. MC has several girls formerly of Luomos and Solarium. Thanks for the insight and keeping me from running astray from Brasil. You make a good point, mongering in Rio is so easy. The guys over at Argentina Private put up a lot of good information but, even with that, BsAs still seems like a tougher place to navigate for pussy. In Rio, we have limitless options just a short bus or metro ride away. Disney for lechers, as you alluded.

I have mongered all over Latin America and can vouch for the fact that there are many places where you can quality girls and excellent service for a fraction of what people seem to be paying in Rio: Costa Rica, Colombia, and, especially cheap, Ecuador, El Salvador, Uruguay, and Paraguay (absolutely the cheapest, but hard to get to). True, none of these places are as attractive as Rio and don't have the same amenities, but if you have already sampled what Rio has to offer and are just looking for pussy, I recommend trying these other venues. Even Buenos Aires, although not exactly cheap, might provide a balance between a cosmopolitan atmosphere and reasonable prices.

I had the same thought..and that next time I would go to Buenos Aires for something different and cheaper. I did some investigating of BA lodging and found it comparable to Copa Premier or Atlantico. I checked Argentina Private and found the prices at places like Madahos to be similiar to Centro casa pricing. Then TJ started posting and reminds me of the $1R/minuto girls at BA85 and similar. At this point I don't see how Buenos Aires has any advantage over Rio Centro.

That being said..I am still considering spending only a couple days in Rio next time and diverting to elsewhere in Brasil, like Maceio, if that might be cheaper. I remember that one of the guys here on the Rio thread recently had a good time in Maceio on a small amount of money.

The real catch is that I get 95% good service in Rio and Sao Paulo, with CIM and anal when I don't even ask for it. It's hard to try something new where the service may not be so good. If I got to Macieo or Porto Alegre or one of the spanish-speaking countries and found that the service was all CBJ like most of the places in Japan, I would literally have a break down due to knowing what I missed in Rio or SP simply to save a few bucks.

ok BA85 (around R30 max / US$17 / UK£10), is cheap and not really luxurious (and 15 or 20R is common as well). But I've had awesome overnighters for R100-R120 this year. There's plenty of style in BsAs, but I'd welcome a simple guide to getting my rocks off in a friendly smiling manner for around US$10, or a memorable all-night-and-again-in-the-morning shag-of-one's-life for under US$70 there. I can't see it, but I'm open to learning and landing there briefly in a few weeks or so. (Yeah, I know RTFF for BsAs but it's harder work than even this one, and my bottom line is it hasn't changed that much since I was there last time - at least in terms of pussy-to-the-£.)
