I am writing to all of you while I am in my apartment in Rio. I bought MagicJack in the U.S. for $40. This covers the device and also the first year. They supply you with a U.S. phone number. Wherever you travel in the world, simply connect a landline phone to your computer and connect MagicJack. I just called the U.S. and my number appeared on the caller ID of the person whom I was calling. They also called me in Rio with my U.S. number supplied by MagicJack, and their number appeared on my caller ID and the call went perfectly. Connection was great. All you need is an internet connection that is on. The cost of the call is zero!!

nice report junior,
you know the difference may be for me that i went to thailand first and then went to other destinations. for me thailand is a whole different animal than rio and the two cannot be properly compared to each other. i love them both for many diffferent reasons but i really love the fact that women are available on a p4p basis at both locations. one trip i may need some rio in my life, the other trip i may need a little pattaya.
one thing that divides my time with pattaya is that in pattaya there is no substitute for feeling like you are a total millionaire and getting out of your comfort zone money wise is tough to do. you can also rent a motor bike and that is a freedom in it self. riding from bar to bar in north, central, south pattaya, and then jomtien beach for even more bars... like a kid in a candy store. it's like a freedom that is only experienced over there because you are so in control of everything when money is no issue.
i remember i came out of my apartment one sunday in rio, before my plane took off for home, looking for some quick ass. meia pataca was all wet from rain (think of july '08 when you could throw a stone in helpee on a sunday and not hit anyone in the head, for those that were there) and there was no available ass at meia pataca. pressed on a sunday with two hours till cab time and no ass made me real nervous. in pattaya, not a problem more ass than you need to be available all hours of the day and night. the town is yours, walk where you want. no one is going to attack you or anything like that. it's all good in pattaya. get stumbling drunk and walk to your hotel? no problem! (though you may get pickpocketed by a tranny) the party never stops. what? lucifers is over? well lets just go to mixx or this or that... sun coming up? ok jp bar for crack of dawn partying... 10 or more clubs within walking distance of each other pumpin rap, rock, techno, arabic... they cater to the foreign sex tourist in pattaya. i really like that.
as for rio, the feeling of being in rio cannot be compared. walking along the beach on atlantica never can be equaled in pattaya. you have all versions of tall, short - dark and light in rio. you can even get these weird asian mixes beause of the japanese population in sao paulo. the sheer diversity of rio women cannot be equaled in asia. (though the black military mixes in angeles city philippines give me some real nice alternatives there). rio is a romantic major metropolitan city. pattaya is not very attractive and pretty unromantic.
given the same amount of money and a choice of both places i would probably go to pattaya. double that available amount of money to go to rio with and well then, i choose rio.
they both have big attractions for me. the prevailing reason i constantly still go to asia is because of my initiation into foreign p4p when visiting thailand. i am much more used to the girls and their shyness etc. there is a level of femininity that cannot be equaled by women outside of asia. that is just the way it is... (all my opinion)
god bless all of em tho!

Very nice report! And very informativ.
I have been to Thailand now many times and will travel to Rio for the first time in my live next month. I will stay in Salvador during the Carnival and after the Carnival I head to Rio for 1 week.
Personally I like Thai women very much, I've had many GFE experience with them and they are mostly very nice. As you described, they will not let you get yourself a beer.
After going through some escort pages in the net I found how sexy brazilian ladies look. Ofcourse I can not judge since most of them have been photoshoped and the girsls may not look as nice.
I usually monger more upclass and don't mind paying for good service and quality.
So after reading your report I am even more looking forward to Brazil!

Vandeta

Posts: 278Rio de Janeiro vs. Pattaya
rio de janeiro vs. pattaya
having just completed my first ever trip to pattaya, i thought it might be helpful for the monger community to get a comparison of the worlds two most famous mongering destinations.
just a few words of background. i love rio and brazilian women and have been to the marvellous city many times over the years. i speak portuguese which also makes a big difference. so my conclusion was never in doubt, but i will try to give a fair, albeit it, personal comparison.
my holidays are on relatively high budgets, so the conclusions are based on a fairly good budget.
the two cities
rio is probably one of the most beautiful cities in the world with a great combination of beaches, mountains, forests etc. traffic is bad, but the city has a good metro system and taxis are available very easily.
pattaya is not as nice as rio, but still has a beach (but nobody was swimming in the water). it is very build-up and i felt it was quite crowded. traffic is ok, and baht busses are readily available.
winner: rio
safety
i never felt unsafe in pattaya and it seems to have a good safety reputation.
rio is known to be an unsafe city with a very high murder rate. personally, i have never had problems in rio as i take my precautions.
winner: pattaya
non-mongering activities
pattaya has very good sporting activities available at very good prices. these include diving, golf, [CodeWord117] etc. this is less easy to find in rio.
rio has excellent sightseeing tours, including the statue of christ and sugarloaf mountain to name a few. pattaya seemed to have less interesting tour options.
winner: depends on your preferences.
food
both cities have very good local food available a reasonable prices. i like both thai and brazilian food so for my detail regular meals both cities have good options.
there are a number of very good restaurants in rio with high-end international cuisine. these include satyricon, antequarius, fasano etc. i did not find high end international restaurants in pattaya.
winner: depends on food preference mine is rio due to the high end restaurants.
non-pro nightlife
when in rio i sometimes like to take a night off (from the professional ladies) and go to a regular club. there are many good clubs with local clients only where you can have a great time. on some occasions you might even end up with non-pro for the night.
in pattaya there are so many foreingnes and prostitution is more widespread than in rio. this also means that most if not all clubs with have foreigners and local pros in their audience.
brazilian music in pretty good and i have even come to like to bailefunk party music whereas i have heard enough thai techno music to last me a lifetime.
winner: rio
prices
generally speaking most, if not all things, are cheaper in pattaya.
apples to apples you get more for your dollars, euros . in pattaya than in rio. this includes hotels, food, entertaining, women
lunch:
thai food: 250baht (app. u$7)
brazilian kilograma: 35 reals (u$15)
two girl party:
pattaya (hell club): 3600baht for 90 minutes (u$100)
rio (centaurus): 800 reals for 60 minutes (u$355)
both places are, imho, the cities finest.
good local hotel:
pattaya: 2500 baht (u$72)
rio: u$130
i usually set a budget for my trips. i could not spend my whole budget in pattaya as it is quite cheap. on the other hand i have never been able to stay on budget in rio.
winner: pattaya
women
brazilian women come in all shape, sizes and colours you can pretty much find all types of women in rio. thai women come in two shapes and sizes small and very small.
to be perfectly honest it is not even a close call, brazilian women are far more attractive to me than thai women.
thai women are very nice and treat you very well if they like you. the lady i had last night would not allow me to get off the couch to get a beer, she always went to get it for me.
brasilian women are not quite like that, but they are still great company.
winner: rio
sex
again, not even a close call. brazilian women are great in bed, probably the best in world. thai womens sexual skills pale in comparison.
i have had so much great sex in brazil that i have stopped counting .the best sex i had in pattaya does not even make it to my top50 sessions.
brazilian women are much more into sex and can genuinely provide a great gfe even if they have never met you before. brazilian women are also more sexually demanding you will get a long way with them if you can really make the come.
winner: rio
will i go back?
to pattaya: probably not, thai women does not really do it for me.
to rio: every year till the day i die ( which i hope will be at an old age and in bed with 5 exhausted 19 year old brasilieras).

Anyone know of any companies/individuals in Rio from whom I could rent/charter a nice sized boat for the day or half a day? Looking for something that could fit 6-8 people. If the boat owner has to Captain the boat that's fine, otherwise, if I can rent and pilot it on my own, that would be ideal. Departing in 2 days.
Thanks!

I will also be staying at the Rio Othon Palace during Carnaval and it is reassuring that a) you were allowed to bring your garota at the hotel and b) without extra charge! Did they give you any hard time at reception when you showed up with your girl?
Also, I would be interested in getting more info on your boat trip in the Pantanal so please tell me-us more about how you managed to make that happen.
Thanks.
