I was in Mabs last night looking for something relatively early at midnight, I didn't want to wait for Dolce Vita to get busy. I sat down at a table ordered a beer, the place was pretty crowded, the selection of girls was mixed in the lineup. There were a few dark skinned girls very tall sleek legs and dressed very nice, they weren't pushy. During my time there 4 girls came over and sat at my table. One had a very pretty face but body was a little out of shape, she spoke good English and asked for 1,000 reais, when I told her to leave she was very surprised, not the fantasy I was looking for. One other I saw from far away looked great, nice figure, dressed very nice, cool hairstyle, she came over and sat down, up close I can see just a little too much mileage on the face. She asked for a drink and a plate of spaghetti, I told her I was leaving. The table behind me was a younger American with 27 tattoos, loud big guy having fun, he had 2 girls at his table that I had already turned down, they were all eating, drinking and doing shots, I hope it was worth it to him.

I finished my beers and got up to leave and noticed a young girl I had been seeing all night, I sat down next to her on a bench, I looked closely at her, no mileage, nice white skin 20 years old. She offered me a fair price, I thought it was the best I could do. Best part about it was she was young and had a flawless body, her sex skills needed some improvement but I enjoyed myself anyway, I think she was new in the business. Maybe DV tonight but I don't like staying up late anymore.

So I found out I'm near the surfing zone in Ipanema. Our place we rented is spectacular and I can see almost what the surfers are wearing but not quite. But we are close to the beach - 1 block away. I went up and down the entire beach just checking out the local flavor. Good 2 hour walk.

Made a phone call to one of the sites and had a girl here in under an hour. She was fantastic and spoke fair english. We needed to google translate a couple of times but not bad. She said she is taking private English lessons. The boss offered to have 2 girls (her friend) come over but I chose just one to test the waters. They will both be coming over at some point but I'm going to take today to visit Centaurus or Monte Carlo I think. I am only a few blocks apparently from Centaurus. Looks like 4 x4 is closed on weekends (weird) so we will go Monday out last day here.

Just went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of food and beer. Tried Uber and they have all the grocery stores but it's terrible. Twice I tried and the order just dies in the system. Four hours for the first effort. 2 hours for the second. I had to cancel them both which is a nightmare and then I just did it myself. Oh well.

Really going to hit some bars in Ipanema / Leblon as well as hit some food options in both. So far so good.

If you want real carioca the gema tier 1 food look for Casuarina (in Recreio and now in Botafogo) or Na Brasa Colombia (original in Botafogo, and now in Recreio, Barra, Copa.).

This would be my choice for the best mall eaterie in town, but this is not an all you can eat type of place. When I went there with this girl the head waiter set us up in a very private booth where we drank wine and fooled around with each other plenty over dinner. I had a great time and it is a great restaurant!

But my 2 favorite steak houses in RJ are over in Leblon: one is called Giuseppe Grill and it is a real 1st class steak joint. If you want to impress a girl or just want to have a great dinner, go to this place. It is not all you can eat steak joint either.

The other place that I am really fond of is CT Boucherie Steak House on Rua Dias Ferreira, 636 in Leblon. CT is a small store front restaurant that serves high quality steaks to order and customers are offered 7 or 8 sides all freshly prepared at no additional cost. You don't get 1 side, you get as many you want! The sides keep on coming until you are through. It is a great informal place to go and I like it a lot.

Here is a tip on churrascaria style all you can eat steakhouses: when you plate is full of meats, flip the coin from green to red to signal you are in pause mode. When you are done with the meats on plate at hand, flip the coin back to green and a bell boy will remove your old plate and give you a new one. Then the waiters will come on by with cuts to try. And keep flipping the coin until you can't eat another bite. LOL. That is the problem with the churrascaria style places and why I prefer steakhouses where I can order just one cut of beef that I prefer plus a side or two and not indulge in overeating. But that's my personal taste. If you have never done a churrascaria style steakhouse, go to Mocellin Steakhouse and enjoy the feast.

I remember the first time I went to a Brazilian churrascaria. It was in Rio, and man I was worried they were going to bring me meat for dessert too LMAO! I was surprised I even had room left for dessert LOL! I'm like you. I prefer not to indulge in overeating. But as you say, if you're one who's never done the all the meat you can eat thing, then definitely go for it at least once. You'll never forget the experience that's for sure!

It is a restaurant. They like it when they go, but I do not think anyone is sitting around thinking how much they love Outback. ....

I think it is the ambiance is more comfortable like the A/C, not the food. One can often find them and other chain restaurants in the malls. It's like when I go to one of this places I would choose an Brazilian one, not an American one. The locals just do the same as me which is the opposite choice.

You're right they have a local office here in Bog I'll see if I can head there or call hopefully they have Eng. If not I may just apply for that visa. We all have lazy days, I'll prob just get it done next few days and hopefully approved before 3/30. Thanks.

Nina is coming over today, waiting for the rain to lift a bit, and michelle noemie bilas Obama has just had a kid, and now her cell phone doesn't work, go figure. Nina pulls triple duty, fucking, cleaning, and even procuring the younger girls from the terma for my equipe (team). Arrived late with my driver waiting and a massage guy at home who gives really strong massages, paid BRL200 tips to keep everyone happy. Woke up this morning looking at ocean with a pretty young woman snuggling up to me. Just one girl this time. I was so tired after the trip I went to sleep after a BBJ. I'm happy to say that shelling out some $ for expert medical care of my mid 60 year old housekeeper (and quite reasonable, about BRL 18 k) she is staying on, relieved, grateful and more loyal than ever. A great investment. I think she treats me like a son, albeit one that walks around naked and bangs lovely young things in the sunshine by the pool. She just laughs at my antics and even brings refreshments to pace it out.

Anytime is the right time to visit Brazil, but I would be aware of the big national holidays and plan accordingly. My last trip was in November / December and many clinicas (SP) were closed right before Christmas all the way through to a couple of days after New Years and the boates slowed down drastically during the same time frame. I didn't feel the lull thanks to my favorite girl with whom I had a very Merry Christmas and a happy, happy New Year. Carnival is something to consider as far as Rj is concerned. I avoid it like the plague, but a lot a guys might want to get into it. Up to you. Carnival in SP is a non-event that has no effect on our sport.

I prefer spring, summer and fall. Winter is good too, just bring a warm fall jacket and some base layers. Rain is a not a factor in my calculations.

I split my time 50/50 (SP & RJ) on my 1st two trips until I decided which town I preferred. Now I spend all my Brazil time, 6 weeks, in that city except for short 34-day side trips with my favorite girl. I have not taken her to Iguazu Falls yet, but that is on my to do list of short romantic side trips. I want explore the NE beaches someday, but I think that is a minimum 2-week trip, so it has been on my back burner for a while. My next trip is in June / July (winter) and I am taking a 3-day solo trip up to Campinas. It should be fun.

I also travel but I tend to stay in a place longer. I used to stay in Sao Paulo a few months at a time but now it is just a stop over for me because I found out there are so much more to explore. It's a great city. I think October is the start of raining season in Sao Paulo. I just carry umbrella and shoes for the raining weather. Plan your flight far in advance, otherwise it gets more expensive.

I am currently travelling with a few Brazilians. They arranged and prepaid everything before I arrived in Brazil. I just go alone for the ride. It's pretty interesting. There is no dull moment.

Do you recommend I book hotels on a day by day basi, so if I want to visit some place, I can just get a hotel there. Keep my options open.

I recommended booking a room for convenience ONLY for those days when you're exploring Centro prives and termas. I don't -- god forbid -- recommend booking every day for the duration of your travel. That's insane.

Why is booking a hotel in Centro convenient? Because:

1. There are loads of walking involved and you're not a machine (at least I ain't), so:

2. After touring the building (might take 2-3 hours or more), you can come back to your room and recharge. Take a shower and lie down (or lie down with a cold beer by the pool). Then rinse and repeat.

3. It's cheap. Before Covid I booked a 2-room suite at Granada for something like $25-30 (overnight rate). You won't find rates like this now, but $35-40 cash shouldn't be a problem. The trick is to get them check you in in the morning, rather than 3 PM.

Yes, you do. 3-4 days is enough, and it's one place where you'll hugely benefit from a guide with his own car. The distances are vast.

I don't know if I will like Sp for more than a night or two. There is no beach to go to in the day. Isn't SP a concrete jungle like BGC. What do you guys do there during the day.

SP is worth visiting. It's amazingly green, has some wonderful parks, food, and street art scene, and the P2P venues are legendary. 3-4 days away from the beach won't kill you, LOL.

OK, I never said that it rains every day in summer. I said it TENDS to rain often in summer. Just to be clear, rains in Brazil can come at any time of the year, so don't get mad at me if get soaked in October, LOL.
