Check your times very carefully. Boarding time is usually 30 to 40 minutes before departure time. But the airlines advise international travelers to arrive at the airlines check-in counter 3 hours prior to the departure time. So, with the information you have given us, I calculate that if you arrive at the airport 3 hours before your departure time (72 hrs + 40 minutes + 30 minutes) - 3 hours you will be checking in and presenting your test information 70 hrs & 10 minutes after your swab, so you should be good to go.

Your check in time is the critical time to calculate your 72 hour time limit. Case in point #1. I flew American to GRU. The flight was delayed 2 hours, but as long as passengers were checked in under their 72 hour limit there was no problem even if their test times exceeded 72 hours at take off time. Case in point #2. My American Airlines return flight from RJ to MIA was delayed 22 hours! The airlines put all non RJ passengers up in a Flamingo Beach hotel for the night. I was a little worried about my flight status because the time since my test now exceeded 80 hours when I returned to the RJ airport, but since I and all the other passengers had already checked in for the flight 24 hours earlier so there were no problems..

I think it's 72 hours before departure time. Take a new test. Why don't call the airline and ask them?

If you fly on United, they had this partnership with a home-test lab, but I doubt it's still an option nowadays. Worth checking perhaps.

Both Antigen and labs are fine AFAIK (not first hand experience though).

Lab but there is one you can do at home while Zooming to someone that oversees and then creates the certificate. You need that piece of paper.
