The Covid test that you need to enter Brazil. Can I just buy the antigen home test and show the results or do I have to have results from a lab.

"Passengers will be refused boarding if they do not hold a document confirming a negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure, or a negative antigenic test result issued within 24 hours prior to departure. The document must be issued by a laboratory recognised by the health authority of their country of residence and must be in Portuguese, English or Spanish".

Both Antigen and labs are fine AFAIK (not first hand experience though).

Lab but there is one you can do at home while Zooming to someone that oversees and then creates the certificate. You need that piece of paper.

He asked the cash amount for 10 days trip. I gave an estimate based the online, termas and boate pricing. Keep in mind, he wants white girls and overnight would cost more. If he had provided more info, we can give better estimate.

Did it yesterday came back negative but the time from boarding plane to GIG and swab is 72 hrs + 40 minutes? Is that a problem? Or do they round up to whole days? My own fault for next checking departures time.

Must be the only place I carry cash. I carry no cards, cheap old phone, battery pack. That's it depending on the day and I love food be difficult to spend more than a 1000 Reis per day on average. If I take out then have money at 'home'. I prefer Betecos than any pseudo posh place. Typically sit in Jobi for hours and find it difficult to spend my money.

Several BMs have in the recent past (especially during COVID-19), asked about working from Brazil in a legal capacity, this may be of some help.

Not sure, what taxes are you referring to w/r to "work tax free"? Wouldn't that be a tax function of your home residing country?

The minimum requirement of just USD$18K , in you bank account, in order to work from/stay a year in Brazil, is very enticing, indeed.

Also the visa is "...renewable for the same period if the applicant continues to meet eligibility criteria (including a clean criminal record)."

Its $18 k in your bank or $1500/ month income.

There is the issue.

1) Will the company you work for face tax issues if they allow you to work in Brazil for 1 year.

2) Will Brazil expect you to pay taxes on the money you are earning from your employer.

Okay, I get it now! The "work tax free" question that Mimic86 asked, was referring to your bulletin point #2.

I assumed (perhaps wrongly so), that the point of this visa, was to win-over, recruit and more importantly KEEP "butts in Brazil" or foreign nationalist with "boots-on-the-ground" (for lack of a better term), spending tons of money in their local economies. Spending for their domestic living arrangements and ONLY pay local taxes (if any), related to things like housing, and transportation. Basically take advantage and benefit from this worldwide "nomadic" virtual workplace trend. But perhaps NOT!

I did read on some more and in the "Background" section, under "Remote work visa warning", it warns that tax law implications may exit but states, "In countries where remote work is unregulated...". Again I assume the purpose of this Nomad Visa is to regulate such work activities in Brazil.

Anyway, what can say, is that it's early days (visa began on Jan 24th, 2022) and will watch for clarification, in the days to come.
