Would have been smart for them to extend this past Carnivale. I'm still holding out that they will announce that they've kicked the can down the road until least March. I'm on twitter with a guy whose ticket is for the-Day the 11th Of January. He has no clue of his evisa status. He lost contact with VFSGlobal and so has many others. I was dealing with IVisa before I decided to give up. I can't see them not making provisions for people who had bought tickets already. Well I went back in Sept and managed to see the Amazon for the first time, I guess it's time to go somewhere new.

I wonder what makes you say picture dimension does not matter. Maybe it does not and we can wait to find out but the instruction and example all clearly listed required dimension.

Because from your phone, to tablet, to computer, to uploading, you can not tell the size of the original picture. You can tell the proportions of the sides, but you will not know a 2 x2 from an 8 x8 if someone sent you one.

I'm pretty sure. I completed the application and it took forever. You are giving your life away. Nothing better than telling people my banking info home address phone number. They only thing I didn't have to give is my hotel info in Brazil, just flight info.

I also read that this is processed by the local embassy in your area. It is written in the approved email.

I am surprised that folks are now having delays or trouble with the e-visa application.

My friends and I applied in early December and the process was mostly painless. The issues we had were with the payment processing vendor they used and it took 3 or 4 credit cards before payment was accepted. Probably has to do with Chase and Citi having super sensitive fraud alert algorithms.

We all got our e-visa approved within 5 business days. Perhaps we beat the carnival rush as our trip to RJ and SP is in middle to late of January.

How does the e-visa work? It an online visa?

I did that. It didn't work. Declined it. It accepted it after reducing it to small.

I see what you mean. I did mine this morning and had to use a photo resizer to make the file less than 1 MB.

When I say small I don't mean picture size, I think it lowers the quality of the photo to make it below 2 mb size. I just took a selfie in front of my white wall. It went through. I imagine they will take the picture and make it 2/2.

I'm going through the forum, lots of detail but I'm hoping to get some direction.

Background: Early 30's, brown gringo, have done west Eur, USA / Can, Mex / Col. Experienced in the hobby but I don't speak any Porto.

I'd like to keep it simple as possible. Maybe gringo friendly clubs at night & any convenient day spas / agencies. Looking for those top Instagram fit, pretty types. Tourist attractions not a priority.

1) Rio over SP? What are the day & night equivalents of Scandallo in ease / talentprices?

2) Reqs where to stay that are girl friendly, safe, convenient to food? I'd rather stay somewhere nice for 3-4 days than a cheaper spot for 5-6.

Usually when I go to Rio I stay at the Pestana Rio Hotel in Copacabana, but lately the rooms are really low quality there. I wanted to try another hotel, so I booked Leme Windsor Hotel in Leme. But I heard that they are not very girl friendly. Any information or recommendation about that?

The previous paper Brazil 10-year tourist visa that required dropping off your passport at the consulate also included a photo.

The Brazilian e-visa I got in 2018 required a photo.

Can someone explain to me why Brazil wants a photo now for a visa. They never asked for that before. Your photo is on your passport which is what you have to upload to them. Why can't they just take your 80 bucks and ask to see your 2 k when you get there. No photo. I guess they can ask for flight info but even that seems ridiculous.

It's best to apply at embassy if there is time constraint. As it is right now, eVisa is not reliable and is taking too long. I have to change plan to fly to another country to wait for mine to be approved. If they are smart about it, they could have delayed it until after carvinal.

Does anyone have the contact of a landlord with an apartment with good 5 g cable modem in barra, recreio, botafogo, or zona sul?

That fiber optic cable may require an installation first in another unit and not in one that you rent. Maybe you should contact the providers and inquire which buildings have been set up for 5 G with fiber optic cables and then look for a rent there, or given the address of the building call the provider first and inquire about the building. The management and the boards know if the fiber cable had been set.
