But why even go to Copa? Mabs, Dolce Vita and other Copa clubs are always hit and miss. What if you don't find anyone to your liking? And why even bother with Zona Sul for one night? Just stay in Centro and explore the monger circuit (4 x4, 502, Manhattan, for more, read the Vagabundo's short Centro guide below). I agree. I'm not sure there is really time for dinner, but I think your point is with one night hit termas 4 x 4 and some of the Centro termas scene. Mabs and Dolce Vita aren't really a great idea if you only have one night and you want to make it count.

Walk around in the afternoon, have a late lunch (Confeitaria Colombo perhaps) and meander over to the termas.

I remember several bars that were open near praca do Lido at Copa. Bars with no entry fee, expensive beers (6 dollars) and many girls dancing on funk and even stripping. I find it strange that there are (almost) no reviews of them here, since they exist because of / from tourist at Copa. Only Mabs (more resto without the dancing) and Dolce Vita are sometimes mentioned. Who knows the club Casablanca? I had great fun there during my last and only visit in 2015. If you wanted to take a girl home you had to pay the club also money though (I think 60 dollars). I guess it was the same as Balcony (closed permanently). Any news about these places?

I will only be in Rio for 1 evening. Monday evening. So I guess I will book a friendly hotel near these clubs around praca do lido. Someone said Hotel Astoria is girl friendly (few pages back) Can anyone confirm. Or give me a hotel in that area?. Take advantage of the 5+:1 exchange rate and don't worry so much about saving a few dollars. For many years I had a very tight international travel schedule which did not afford me the luxury of putting something off until tomorrow. That is you in Brazil. Make the best use of your time. Stay closest to the action. Focus on convenience not saving money on lodging. Hotels have people who speak English and Portuguese who can help you. AirBnB does not. Advice from first timers here is invaluable to you. Do plan one day where you do not give a crap if things don't work out but you can't afford more than one of those.

I was in Rio this past May and dolce vita was closed Monday and Tuesday. I don't know about the other clubs you mention. You have to imagine Monday is generally a slow day. I'd pick another strategy like online escorts.
